After this lesson, the students will know the basics of Naikan
If desired, whiteboarding software & presentation equipment may be used to present items.
Alternatively, a white board may be used.

Intro: Does anyone have heard of "Naikan" what do you know about it?
Work/Discussion
Hand out paper & pencil
Ask the students to to write down (one at a time, give a few minutes for each question)
What have I received from the temple?
What have I given to the temple?
What troubles have I cause the temple or other members?
Ask for students to share what they have written so far. Write the more common items on a white board (if desired)
Ask: What is the relationship between what you have received and any trouble you have caused? Compare the "amount" or "number".
Ask "What could you do to change balance of trouble caused and things or services received at the temple?
Write the more common responses to this on the white board.
Do a summary of what we did today.
Ask what the students find memorable.
