Adventure Image

Digital Imaging project

Overview

Your task is to use Paint.NET to create an adventure image using many visual sources. An adventure image can be any image that tells a story--it doesn't necessarily need to be super exciting! You will create new characters using photos of people you know. You will use Google Image Search to grab bodies for these characters.

Adventure Image topics

You can create an adventure image based on one of the following topics:

      1. Jungle scene (turn your friends into animals)

      2. Space scene (can have astronauts, aliens, etc.)

      3. Superheroes

      4. Movie or Television show (create a cast of characters, such as the Wizard of Oz)

      5. Sports (turn your friends into sports celebrities, or create an Olympics scene)

      6. Under the sea (turn your friends into sea creatures)

      7. Dinosaurs

      8. Cartoon (turn your friends into Disney characters, Simpsons, etc.)

      9. Farm scene

      10. Video game

      11. Holiday scene

Required elements

Your adventure image must contain the following elements:

      • A background to set the scene. You must include Internet images into your background, but you also need to create something original to supplement that (for example: in my version of the assignment, found below, I drew the sky and bricks, but the question-mark block and clouds are from the internet). You must also include a gradient.

      • At least three characters (although more is fine):

        • One of the characters must contain your face

        • One of the characters must contain my face.

        • The remaining character(s) can have faces of your friends or other teachers.

      • Make sure you get permission from a friend before using his or her photo!

        • Again, your photos are available here!

Finally, please send me your work as a .pdn file, not a .png or .jpg! I can't judge your layer work with a flattened file, so I need to see the original .pdn project.

Please see Mr. Alexander if you have any questions. If you require additional work time, please get a pass to come to Intervention. Remember, Paint.NET is a free program, so you can even work on it from home!
