selection of 2 or 3 other subjects.
The assessment programme includes subject tests, common assessment tasks, performances, essays, research, inquiry, Science laboratory practicals, digital portfolios, product design, visual and oral presentations, collaborative projects and timed examinations.
Year 11 learners may be offered some Level 1 credits which will give them NCEA experience. The details of these will be confirmed at the beginning of the 2024 school year.
Having time for learning and assessment in Year 11, without the burden of over-assessment, provides a strong foundation of rich learning and assessment information and feedback, as well as valuable experience with the NCEA system. This structure provides our learners with strategies and experience in tackling content and assessments across the curriculum and equips them with a platform to confidently approach the learning required for the NCEA Level 2 qualification.
