Aims 

• Understand and produce more complex language 

• Communicate beyond the immediate context, e.g. past and future events 

• Communicate information, ideas and opinions

• Understand ways in which the target language is organised for different purposes 

• Express and respond to personal ideas and opinions 

• Communicate appropriately in different situations 

Course Content

Over the year we will study the following topics and you will create a portfolio of your interactions for your internal assessment.  You will also work on creating written and spoken work as well as working on understanding of written and spoken language in authentic contexts. 

• Talking about ourselves

• Food

• Shopping

• Holidays and tourism

• Free time and fun activities

• Health

Assessment 

In class assessments, school examinations.

This course may include 1 NCEA standard, either an internal or an external. To be confirmed at the beginning of the 2024 school year.
