NCEA Level 3 Calculus
Aim
This course is intended for learners who have gained all credits in Level 2 Pure Mathematics. The material has applications in the science world and in finance.
Course content
Differentiation and using derivatives to solve problems
Integration and solving problems by integration, differential equations, or numerical methods
Solving problems and equations involving trigonometric functions
Manipulating real and complex numbers and solving equations
Sketching graphs and finding equations of conic sections
Assessment
There are a variety of assessment tasks and school examinations. Externally assessed topics are examined nationally at the end of the year.
Qualification gained
Full course completion - 21 credits in NCEA Level 3 Calculus
