September 26, 2025 — A Book Review Competition was organized at the MMK and SDM MMV Library with the aim of encouraging students to cultivate reading habits and enhance their critical and analytical skills.
Participants presented reviews in both Kannada and English, showcasing a diverse range of literary works. Among the reviews were Hudukata-Hudugata (Kannada) by Shyamarao, presented by Varsha M. R.; Kathabharatha (Kannada) by A. R. Mithra, reviewed by Sathyasri; Mahashwetha (Eng) by Sudha Murthy, reviewed by Varshini; Two States (English) by Chetan Bhagat, presented by Isha M. S.; and The Midnight Library (English) by Matt Haig, reviewed by Madhushree, along with several others.
The competition, which saw participation from 10 students, was evaluated by Dr. Vinoda, Head and Associate Professor, Department of Kannada, and Smt. Brunda R., Assistant Professor, Department of English. Students demonstrated their ability to critically analyze and effectively summarize the chosen books.
The event was organized by the Department of Library and coordinated by Smt. Padma B. S., Librarian.
The celebration of Saraswathi Pooja and Ayudha Pooja 2025 was carried out on 27th September 2025, at MMK and SDM MMV, Mysuru, organized by IQAC, Department of Library and Student welfare committee. The principal, Prof. Bharathi N of the degree college, Prof. Nayanakumari, Principal of the PU College, IQAC coordinator - Smt K S Sukrutha, Student welfare officer -Smt Jyothi Lakshmi G Kava and Smt Padma – Librarian conducted pooja gracefully.
The Saraswati Puja ceremony in the Library commenced with the chanting of Vedic hymns and mantras, invoking the blessings of the goddess Saraswathi. The faculty members, non- staff members and students from all the streams gathered to offer their prayers and seek divine guidance for academic excellence and intellectual growth. The puja rituals were conducted with utmost reverence and devotion, signifying the importance of knowledge and learning in one’s life.
The Ayudha Pooja ceremony involved worshiping symbolically of all the department’s academic tools and equipment such as books, pens, computers, microscopes, laboratory apparatus and musical instruments reverentially .The prasad consisting of traditional sweets and fruits were distributed to all as a gesture of goodwill and communal harmony.
On 25th September 2025, the Department of English, MMK and SDM Mahila Mahavidyalaya, Mysuru, organized an extension program in the form of a workshop on "Shakespearean Drama" at JSS Women’s first grade College (Autonomous), Mysuru. Three faculty members from MMK and SDM Mahila Mahavidyalaya were invited as resource persons for the event. Ms. Brunda R, Head and Assistant Professor, delivered an insightful lecture on Shakespearean drama, highlighting its historical significance, themes, and relevance in contemporary times. Ms. Ujwala S Shetty, Assistant Professor, conducted an engaging activity session that actively involved students in performing key scenes from Shakespeare’s plays. During this session, Ms. Farzana from III BBA enacted the famous "Is this a dagger which I see before me?" soliloquy from Macbeth, while Ms. Adithi from II B.Com delivered a powerful performance of Lady Macbeth’s sleepwalking scene, capturing the psychological depth of the character. Following these performances, Ms. Abhigya and her team presented an enactment of scenes from The Merchant of Venice, bringing Shakespeare’s characters to life with energy and creativity. The session concluded with a dramatic narration of The Merchant of Venice by Ms. Vani Hemanth, Assistant Professor, who interpreted the play while guiding the students through the performance. A total of twelve students from MMK and SDM Mahila Mahavidyalaya participated in the enactments, making the workshop an enriching blend of literary analysis and theatrical expression.
Science and BCA streams showcased their talent and creativity at Tech Arena 2K25, a one-day state-level IT fest hosted by Government College for Women (Autonomous), Mandya. The event featured a range of competitions, including IT Quiz, IT Rangoli, and Poster Presentation, drawing enthusiastic participation from across the state.
It was a moment of pride for the department as Shreejitha R. and Daksha V. Jain of III B.Sc. clinched the first prize in Poster Presentation, while Mahadevamma and Vaishnavi V. J. of III BCA “A” secured the second prize in IT Rangoli.
The students were guided and accompanied by Ms. Kavyashree K. L. and Ms. Ankita S. from the Department of Computer Science, who encouraged and supported them throughout the fest.
As part of an IQAC initiative, the Career Guidance and Placement Cell of MMK & SDM Mahila Maha Vidyalaya, in collaboration with DISCITE Mysore, successfully organized a Two-Day Skill Development Programme for first-year degree students on 23rd and 24th September 2025.
The program was inaugurated by Smt. Seemanthini, Founder and Director of DISCITE Mysore, and presided over by Prof. Bharathi N, Principal of MMK & SDM MMV. Joining the event were Smt. K. S. Sukrutha, IQAC Coordinator, and Sri. Mahadevaswamy S., Coordinator and Placement Officer. The organizing committee included Sri. Niranth M. R., Ms. Bhargavi H. G., Smt. Harshitha Mallik, Smt. Namratha D., Smt. Amrutha P. Nayak, and Sri. Abhishek S., who played pivotal roles in ensuring the smooth execution of the program.
Following the inauguration, training sessions commenced across six batches in designated classrooms. The curriculum focused on various essential topics such as adaptability, ethics and etiquette, communication skills, public speaking, interpersonal skills, and behavioural skills, aimed at equipping students with critical life and career competencies.
The initiative provided students with a platform to build confidence, enhance communication abilities, and develop a deeper understanding of behavioral skills crucial for academic and professional success. It also inspired them to tackle future challenges with a positive mindset and greater competence.
The Skill Development Programme has been lauded for its impactful approach to preparing young minds for both personal and professional growth, reinforcing the college’s commitment to holistic education and student empowerment.
The Tech Amateur IT Club of the Department of Computer Science successfully organized an E-Waste Drive from 16th September to 18th September 2025 . The three-day initiative invited active participation from both students and staff, emphasizing the importance of responsible e-waste disposal.
Club members, along with enthusiastic volunteers, visited various departments and classrooms to collect discarded electronic items. They also guided participants on the types of e-waste that could be contributed. Items such as old or broken mobile phones, obsolete computers and laptops, chargers, cables, batteries, keyboards, mice, printers and other peripherals and electrical items were accepted during the drive.
The campaign witnessed wholehearted support from the college community, resulting in the collection of e-waste. As per the college’s three-year MoU with Anubhuthi Welfare Foundation(ITC -WOW), all collected materials will be responsibly handed over for waste exchange and recycling.
The initiative not only offered an efficient method for safe disposal but also created greater awareness about sustainable practices in managing electronic waste. The E-Waste Drive 2025 stood as a testament to the collective effort of the college towards building an eco-conscious campus.
The Department of Computer Science, in collaboration with the Tech Amateur IT Club, organized an Inter-class Video Making Competition on 20th September 2025 at Room No. S206, coordinated by Smt. Jyothilakshmi G. Kava, Assistant Professor. A total of 6 teams comprising 18 students from various degree streams participated in the competition on the topic “Dharmasthala Organizations – Lens of Service & Light of Society.” The objective of the event was to encourage students to express their creativity, teamwork, and video editing skills while using video as a medium to spread awareness and inspire others. The competition provided a platform for students to showcase their ideas and talents, and the winners were: Ms. Shreejitha R, Ms. Unnathi J, and Ms. Nimra Muskan of III B.Sc(PCs) who secured the First Place, and Ms. Sathyashri S, Ms. Ranjana M K, and Ms. Shilpa S of I BCA–B who bagged the Second Place.
Industrial Visit to Infosys Campus On 25th September 2025, the Department of Computer Science, in collaboration with the Co-curricular Committee, organized an industrial visit to the Infosys campus in Mysuru. The visit provided an enriching experience for the students, offering insights into Infosys’ Springboard initiatives such as internship opportunities, the Pragathi program, and the company’s history and key milestones. A total of 137 final-year BCA and BSc students, accompanied by 12 faculty members from the department, participated in the program. The exposure proved highly beneficial, enhancing students’ understanding of industry practices and career development pathways in the IT sector.
On 24th September 2025, faculty members from the Life Sciences department and final-year BMBT students attended an online Thought Leaders Talk Series titled "Exploring Careers in Life Sciences: Opportunities in Pharma, Biotech, and Healthtech." The event was organized by the Co-curricular Committee in collaboration with ICT Academy. The session featured distinguished speakers including Dr. Narendra G, Associate Vice President of Research Publications at ICT Academy; Dr. Ujwala Salvi, Founder and CEO of Nucleon Research, India and USA; Dr. Maluk Mohamed, Co-Founder, Vice President of Research, and Head of India Operations at Twin Health; Dr. Rahul Kapur, Vice President and Head of Medical Affairs, Patient Value and Innovation at Biocon Biologics; and Mr. Balamurugan Ramaswamy, Executive Vice President at HCL Technologies. The talks provided valuable insights into emerging career paths and industry trends, significantly enriching students’ understanding of opportunities in the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, and healthtech sectors. The sessions were highly beneficial, empowering students to make informed decisions about their future careers.
An IQAC initiated – The Intercollegiate Fest – “PRABHIGYAN 2025-26” Banner Launch was held on 22nd September 2025, at MMK and SDM MMV, Mysuru, organized by Student welfare committee under the guidance of Smt Jyothi Lakshmi G Kava, Student welfare officer. The principal, Prof. Bharathi N of the degree college, Prof. Nayanakumari, Principal of the PU College and the IQAC coordinator of the college Smt K S Sukrutha graced the event and inspired everyone.The event was held in the college premises in the presence of all teaching staff, non-teaching staff and students from all streams.
The program commenced at 3.15pm with Fashion Parade in which the final year students walked the runway, in the blingtastic ensembles exuding high glamour and an extravagant appeal, showcasing elegance through their designs that nurtured creativity and design professionalism. This was followed by dance performances for various genres of songs by the students showcasing their exuberance.
The Principal launched the banner amidst the Chande drum beats. The overall event was filled with entertainment and joyfulness.
On 16th September 2025, the Legal Literacy Committee of MMK & SDM Mahila Mahavidyalaya, Mysore, organized a programme to mark International Democracy Day. Sri Amarnath K. K., Senior Civil Judge and Member Secretary, District Legal Services Authority, Mysore, was the chief guest.
The event aimed to promote awareness of democratic values and civic responsibility among students. In his keynote address, the chief guest emphasized the significance of legal literacy in strengthening democracy and highlighted the role of informed citizens in a just society.
The programme, presided over by Prof. N. Bharathi, Principal, witnessed the enthusiastic participation of around 100 students from all streams. The occasion was graced by Smt. Sukrutha K. S. (IQAC Coordinator & Head, Dept. of Computer Science), while overall coordination was handled by Ms. Prathima M. (LLC Coordinator) with the support of committee members Ms. Harshitha P., Ms. Kavyashree K. L., and Smt. Sahana B.
The event provided students with valuable insights into the essence of democracy and inspired them to embrace their roles as responsible and informed citizens.
The Department of Mathematics organized an Alumni Faculty Programme on 20th Sept. 2025 . Ms. Bhanu Priya J., Assistant Professor, Department of Mathematics, ATME College of Engineering, delivered a session on “Vector Differentiation”. The lecture focused on analyzing how vector quantities change over time or space, highlighting the concept of the instantaneous rate of change of a vector-valued function, exclusively for III B.Sc. students.
The session was graced by the presence of the Principal, Prof. N. Bharathi, Smt. Chaitra N, Assistant Professor and Head of the Department of Mathematics, and Smt. Kavyashree A. C. A total of 30 III B.Sc. students benefited from the programme.
On 18th September 2025, students from the Department of English, MMK and SDM Mahila Mahavidyalaya, Mysore, were deputed to attend a one-day state-level workshop on the topic on "Research Methodology", the workshop was organized by the Department of English in association with the IQAC of St. Joseph’s First Grade College, Jayalakshmipuram, Mysore. The event aimed to enhance participants understanding of research principles, tools, and techniques relevant to academic inquiry. Ms. Sanjana M. R., Ms. Sreejitha R., Ms. Daksha V. Jain, and Ms. Sinchana B of 3rd B.Sc actively participated in the workshop, gaining valuable insights into various aspects of research methodology.
A Home Management Session titled "Character Development and Ethical Values" was conducted on 20th September 2025 at MMK & SDM Mahila Mahavidyalaya, Mysore. The guest speaker for the session was Mr. Avinash, a Life Coach and Soft Skill Trainer from Mysore. The session focused on the importance of character development and ethical values in shaping individuals and building a just society. It emphasized the development of moral qualities like honesty, responsibility, respect, perseverance, and the significance of ethical values such as integrity, fairness, compassion, and accountability in everyday life. The main objective of the session was to instill awareness about the role of ethics and character in personal and professional growth, and the outcome was a deeper understanding among students of how values-based decision-making leads to personal success and societal harmony. A total of 263 students participated in the session, which was actively supported by faculty members Sri Maruti Prasanna (Coordinator), Smt. Rajarajeshwari R., Smt. Kavya S. N., Smt. Namratha D., Smt. Chaitra H. V., and Ms. Divyashree R.
On September 19, 2025, the Commerce Club, under the coordination of Mr. Syed Sadath, organized an inter-class competition titled “Business Battleground.” A total of 25 teams comprising 50 students from I, II, and III Year B.Com participated enthusiastically in the event.
The objective of the activity was to provide students with a platform to apply theoretical concepts of commerce to real-world scenarios, thereby enhancing their critical thinking, problem-solving, and teamwork skills. The event also encouraged healthy competition, collaboration, and camaraderie among students while fostering a deeper understanding and interest in commerce and business studies.

ಮೊದಲು ಎಲ್ಲರೂ ಬಳಸುವುದರೊಂದಿಗೆ ನಾಡಿನ ಅಸ್ಮಿತೆಯನ್ನು ಕಾಪಾಡಿಕೊಳ್ಳಬೇಕೆಂದು ತಿಳಿಸಿದರು.
ವಿಜಯ ಕರ್ನಾಟಕ ದಿನಪತ್ರಿಕೆಯ ಸ್ಥಾನಿಕ ಸಂಪಾದಕ ಐತಿಚಂಡ ರಮೇಶ್ ಉತ್ತಪ್ಪ ಅವರು 'ನುಡಿರತ್ನ ಕನ್ನಡ ಸಂಘ' ಉದ್ಘಾಟಿಸಿ ಮಾತನಾಡಿ ಹೆಣ್ಣು ಮಕ್ಕಳಿಗೆ ವಿಶೇಷ ಆದ್ಯತೆ ಕೊಡ ಲಾಗುತ್ತಿದೆ. ಆದ್ದರಿಂದ ಹೆಣ್ಣು ಮಕ್ಕಳು ಶಿಕ್ಷಣ ಪಡೆದು, ಉನ್ನತ ಹುದ್ದೆಗಳನ್ನು ಅಲಂಕರಿಸಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಹೆಣ್ಣು ಮಕ್ಕಳಿಗೆ ಶಿಕ್ಷಣ ನೀಡಿದರೆ ಅಭಿವೃದ್ಧಿಯಾಗುತ್ತಾರೆ. ಇದರಿಂದ ದೇಶವೇ ಅಭಿವೃದ್ಧಿ ಹೊಂದಲಿದೆ ಎಂದರು. ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳು ಪಠ್ಯ ಪುಸ್ತಕಗಳನ್ನೂ ಓದಿದರೆ ಸಾಲದು, ಪತ್ಯೇತರ ಪುಸ್ತಕಗಳನ್ನು ಓದಬೇಕು. ಮೊಬೈಲ್ ಯುಗದಲ್ಲಿ ಮೊಬೈಲ್ನಲ್ಲಿ ಎಲ್ಲವು ಓದಲು ಸಿಗುತ್ತದೆ. ಆದರೆ, ಪುಸ್ತಕಗಳನ್ನು ಹಿಡಿದು ಓದಿದರೆ ಮಿದುಳಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಉಳಿಯಲಿದೆ ಎಂದು ಸಂಶೋಧನೆಯ ವರದಿ ಹೇಳಿದೆ ಎಂದು ತಿಳಿಸಿದರು.
"ಕನ್ನಡ ನಾಡು, ನುಡಿ, ಜಲ ಪರಂಪರೆಯ ವಿಚಾರಗಳಿಗೆ ಸಂಕಷ್ಟ ಎದುರಾದಾಗ ಎಲ್ಲರೂ ಒಟ್ಟಾಗಿ ಹೋರಾಟ ಮಾಡಿ ಕನ್ನಡ ಉಳಿಸಿ ಬೆಳೆಸಬೇಕು. ನಮ್ಮ ಮಾತೃಭಾಷೆಗೆ ಬಹುದೊಡ್ಡ ಇತಿಹಾಸ ಇದೆ. ಅದನ್ನು ತಿಳಿದರೆ ಮೈ ರೋಮಾಂಚನವಾಗುತ್ತದೆ. ಕನ್ನಡ ಸಾಹಿತ್ಯ ಪ್ರೇಮದೊಂದಿಗೆ, ಪುಸ್ತಕ ಪ್ರೇಮವನ್ನು ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳು ಬೆಳೆಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳಬೇಕು,'' ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದರು.
ಕನ್ನಡ ವಿಭಾಗದ ಮುಖ್ಯಸ್ಥೆ ಡಾ.ವಿನೋದ ಮಾತನಾಡಿ, "ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳು ಮಾತೃಭಾಷೆಯ ಮೇಲೆ ಹೆಚ್ಚಿನ ಗೌರವ ಇಟ್ಟುಕೊಳ್ಳಬೇಕು. ನುಡಿ ರತ್ನ ಕನ್ನಡ ಸಂಘದ ಮೂಲಕ ಕನ್ನಡದ ಮಹತ್ವವನ್ನು ಮತ್ತಷ್ಟು ತಿಳಿಸಲಾಗುತ್ತಿದೆ,'' ಎಂದು ತಿಳಿಸಿದರು.
2024-25ನೇ ಸಾಲಿನಲ್ಲಿ ದ್ವಿತೀಯ ಪಿಯುಸಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಕನ್ನಡದಲ್ಲಿ ಅತಿ ಹೆಚ್ಚು ಅಂಕಗಳಿಸಿದ 14 ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳು ಹಾಗೂ ಕನ್ನಡ ಪುಸ್ತಕ ಓದು ಸ್ಪರ್ಧೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ವಿಜೇತರಾದವರಿಗೆ ಬಹುಮಾನ ವಿತರಣೆ ಮಾಡಲಾಹಿತು ಮೈಸೂರು ಕಲ್ಬರಲ್ ಫೌಂಡೇಷನ್ ಅಧ್ಯಕ್ಷ ಎ.ಪಿ.ನಾಗೇಶ್, ಸಂಚಲನ ಮೈಸೂರು ತಂಡದ ಅಧ್ಯಕ್ಷ ದೀಪಕ್ ಮೈಸೂರು, ಐಕ್ಯೂಎಸಿ ಸಂಚಾಲಕರಾದ ಕೆ ಎಸ್ ಸುಕೃತ ಕನ್ನಡ ವಿಭಾಗದ ಸಹಾಯಕ ಪ್ರಾಧ್ಯಾಪಕರಾದ ಬಿ.ಎನ್.ಮಾರುತಿ ಪ್ರಸನ್ನ ಡಾ.ಕೆ.ಎನ್.ಅರುಣ್ ಕುಮಾರ್, ಕೆ.ಎನ್. ರಾಣಿ ನುಡಿರತ್ನ ಕನ್ನಡ ಸಂಘದ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿನಿ ಪದಾಧಿಕಾರಿಗಳು ಉಪಸ್ಥಿತರಿದ್ದರು.
ವೇದಿಕೆ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮದ ನಂತರ ಸಂಚಲನ ಮೈಸೂರು ತಂಡದಿಂದ ಡಾ ಚಂದ್ರಶೇಖರ ಕಂಬಾರ ರಚಿತ ಹರಕೆಯ ಕುರಿ ನಾಟಕ ಪ್ರದರ್ಶನವಾಯಿತು.
The 28th edition of the Smt. Lakshmi Nagaraju Memorial Intercollegiate Karnataka Classical Singing Competition was organized by the Cultural Committee and IQAC of MMK & SDM MMV, Mysuru, on September 19, 2025. The event aimed to promote traditional music while honoring young talents in memory of the renowned classical singer, Smt. Lakshmi Nagaraju.
The inaugural program was graced by Vidushi Bharathi M. L., noted Karnataka classical vocalist, as the Chief Guest, and Smt. Nalini Shrikanta, sponsor and former governing body member, Mysuru. The presidential address was delivered by Prof. Bharathi N., Principal, MMK & SDM MMV. Other dignitaries present included Prof. Nayanakumari, Principal, SDM PU College, Prof. Sukrutha K. S., IQAC Coordinator, Dr. Vinoda, Cultural Committee Coordinator, and Dr. Shwetha S., Program Coordinator.
A total of 11 participants from various PUC and undergraduate colleges showcased their talents. The panel of judges comprised Vidushi Smt. Latha Deshpande, Karnataka Classical singer, Vidushi Smt. Rekha Ashok, Carnatic Classical artist, and Vidwan Shri H. S. Tandavamoorthy, violinist, all from Mysuru.
The winners of the competition were:

All participants received certificates, while winners were awarded cash prizes. The smooth conduct of the event was ensured by the Cultural Committee members Mr. Abhishek S., Ms. Kavyashree K. L., Smt. Chaithra H. V., Ms. Kavyashree A. C., and Ms. Ankitha S.
The Literary Committee of MMK and SDM Mahila Mahavidyalaya, Mysore, organized a Pencil Sketch and Painting Competition on 11th September 2025, themed "Seva at Dharmasthala: A Portrait of Selfless Service. The event aimed to encourage artistic expression among students while highlighting the noble values of service and selflessness embodied at Dharmasthala. a total of 8 students enthusiastically participated, showcasing their creativity and deep understanding of the theme through pencil sketches and paintings. The artworks were exhibited during the Parents-Teachers Meeting held on 12 th and 13th September 2025, providing parents and faculty have an opportunity to appreciate the talents and insights of the students. The competition was judged by, Ms. Suprada Jain Assistant Professor and Ms. Bhavayashree G Bhat, Assistant Professor, Department of Commerce. Their thoughtful evaluation and encouragement greatly motivated the participants. The event was a great success, fostering a spirit of creativity, reflection, and respect for selfless service among the students.
The Department of Microbiology organized an industrial visit for II and III B.Sc. Life Science students to the Sewage Treatment Plant at Kesare and the Water Purification Plant at Vanivilas Water Works, Mysuru.
The visit aimed to provide hands-on knowledge of treatment units and processes, acquaint students with industrial environments and operations, and demonstrate how raw water is converted into safe discharge. It also helped students understand the importance of water treatment for public health and the environment, appreciate the complexity of such systems, and gain exposure to real-time industrial practices and technologies.
The Department of Microbiology conducted an Extension Programme on the occasion of International Microorganisms Day. III B.Sc. students created awareness on the significance of microorganisms in health, environment, and daily life, highlighting their positive contributions to food production, medicine, and agriculture, while addressing common misconceptions.
Ms. Sanjana delivered a presentation on career prospects in Microbiology, encouraging scientific curiosity and motivating students to explore careers and research opportunities in the discipline.
On 12th Sept 2025, Forty final-year undergraduate students from MMK & SDM MMV, Mysuru explored a world of global education prospects at the Abroad Education Expo organized by IDP Mysore at Radisson Blu Hotel, Mysuru. The event featured representatives from 23 top universities in the UK and the US, providing students with an opportunity to interact directly with international education experts.
The expo was organized by the Career Guidance and Placement Cell, led by Mr. Mahadevaswamy S., Assistant Professor of Commerce and Head of the Cell, along with Smt. Namratha, Assistant Professor of Physics and member of the cell.
Students learned about various academic programs, scholarship options, and career opportunities abroad, while also receiving expert advice on admission procedures and visa requirements. The initiative encouraged students to view higher education as a pathway to global career prospects.
The expo concluded with active participation and positive responses, marking a significant step in fostering globally aware and capable graduates.
The III BBA students had the opportunity to visit the Foods Division of ITC Ltd., Nanjangud, as part of their experiential learning program. The visit offered students valuable exposure to manufacturing processes, quality control measures, and operational practices followed by one of India’s leading FMCG companies.
The students were accompanied by Mrs. Chaithra and Ms. Vachana, who provided guidance throughout the visit, ensuring an informative and practical learning experience.
Initiatives like this help bridge the gap between classroom learning and industry practices, equipping students with the knowledge and skills needed for their future managerial careers.
A Home Management Session titled "Love Yourself for Happy Life Leading" was held on 13th September 2025 at MMK & SDM Mahila Mahavidyalaya, Mysore. The guest speaker for the event was Miss Uma Jadav, a professional makeup artist from COSMOS Makeup and Academy, Mysore. The session focused on beauty and skincare, beginning with an introduction to different skin types and the importance of skin preparation before makeup application. Miss Jadav demonstrated foundational makeup techniques, including the application of foundation, concealer, and contouring, while also emphasizing the use of proper tools and hygiene. The objective of the session was to promote self-care, boost self-confidence, and equip students with practical makeup skills. The outcome was a highly engaging and informative experience, with participants gaining valuable insights and personalized advice. A total of 289 students attended the session, which was actively supported by faculty members Sri Maruti Prasanna (Coordinator), Smt. Rajarajeshwari R., Smt. Kavya S. N., Smt. Namratha D., Smt. Chaitra H. V., and Ms. Divyashree R.
A health check-up camp was conducted on 13th September 2025 by the NSS Unit of the MMK & SDM MMV, Mysore in collaboration with Clear Medi Multi-Specialty Hospital, Mysuru, on the occasion of the Parents–Teachers Meeting. Prof. Bharathi N, Principal, and Anita P. Jayaram, NSS Coordinator, along with NSS committee members, were present. The Principal addressed the participants and expressed gratitude to the medical team from Clear Medi for their support and services.
The camp aimed to promote preventive healthcare and facilitate early detection of common health issues by offering free medical consultations and screenings on campus. Over 90 beneficiaries, including parents, faculty members, non-teaching staff, and students from both Degree and PU colleges, participated in the initiative. Participants received basic health check-ups and professional advice, helping address immediate health concerns while raising awareness about personal well-being.
The camp was widely appreciated and proved beneficial for all attendees. It provided a convenient opportunity for parents, students, and staff to focus on their health and reinforced the institution’s commitment to their overall welfare.
A Book and Chart Exhibition was organized in the library on 15th September 2025 to celebrate Hindi Diwas. The event was jointly conducted by the Department of Library and the Department of Hindi. A total of 11 charts, prepared by the students, were displayed during the exhibition. The event was attended by 70 students and 6 faculty members, who explored the exhibits and celebrated the significance of the Hindi language.
A book exhibition and sale was conducted at the MMK & SDM MMV campus, Mysuru on 12th and 13th September 2025. The event was inaugurated by Prof. N. Bharathi, with Prof. Nayanakumari, Principal of MMK SDM Girls PU College, along with teaching and non-teaching staff and students in attendance. Representatives from Navakarnataka Publications and Ramakrishna Ashrama, Mysuru also participated.
The exhibition received enthusiastic support from students and faculty, with many students, faculty members, and parents purchasing books. The event was organized by the Library.
The Mathletes Club inaugural function was organized by the Department of Mathematics on 11th September 2025 at MMK & SDM College, Mysuru. The event featured Dr. Ruby Salestina M, Professor and Head of the Department of Mathematics, Yuvaraja’s College, Mysuru, as the chief resource person.
The program was graced by Prof. N. Bharathi, Principal of MMK & SDM, along with Smt. K. S. Sukrutha, IQAC Coordinator and Head of the Department of Computer Science, and Smt. Chaitra N., Assistant Professor and Head of the Department of Mathematics. Other faculty members and office bearers of the Mathletes Club also actively participated in the event.
Following the inauguration, a guest lecture titled “A Walk in the Mathematical Domain” was delivered by Dr. Ruby Salestina M. The session explored fundamental properties of integers and uncovered deep and often surprising relationships between numbers. The lecture aimed to provide students with a deeper understanding of number theory and its significance in mathematical studies.
Smt. Kavyashree A. C. and Smt. Geetha R. contributed to the program, which was attended by 70 Mathletes. The main objective of the initiative is to clearly define the study’s goals and provide direction, emphasizing the importance and relevance of number theory.
A pool campus recruitment drive was conducted on 10th September 2025 by Amura Health Care for the final-year B.Sc (BtBM) students of MMK & SDM Mahila Mahavidyalaya, Mysuru. The event was organized by JSS College, Ooty Road, Mysore.
The drive offered students a valuable platform to interact with healthcare professionals, gain insights into corporate expectations, and compete for job opportunities. A total of 21 students participated in the drive, out of which 9 students were shortlisted for the next round of interviews.
This initiative provided the students with exposure to the industry and enhanced their employability prospects.
A Home Management Session on the topic “Stress Management & Work-Life Balance for Happy Life” was held on 6th September 2025 at MMK & SDM Mahila Mahavidyalaya, Mysore. The resource person for the event was Dr. Lancy D’Souza, Head of the Department of Psychology, Maharaja’s College, Mysore. The session aimed to raise awareness about the harmful effects of chronic stress on mental and physical health and to promote a healthy work-life balance as a foundation for a happy life. Dr. D’Souza shared practical strategies such as time management, setting personal boundaries, prioritizing self-care, engaging in physical activity, and practicing mindfulness. He also emphasized the importance of disconnecting from work after hours and nurturing personal relationships to build emotional support systems. The objective of the session was to equip students with tools to manage stress effectively and lead more balanced and fulfilling lives, which was successfully achieved. A total of 262 students participated in the program, which was actively supported by faculty members Sri Maruti Prasanna (Coordinator), Smt. Rajarajeshwari R., Smt. Kavya S. N., Smt. Namratha D., Smt. Chaitra H. V., and Ms. Divyashree R.
On 10th September 2025, a Student Faculty Program was organized for II BBA students in the classroom by Smt. Hajra Begum, Assistant Professor of Business Administration. The session, titled “Stock Exchange in India – NSE, BSE,” was conducted by Ms. Spoorthi Kulkarni of III BBA and attended by 42 students. The objective of the program was to help students understand how aligning Indian markets with international standards, ensuring secure and faster trade settlements, providing nationwide access through advanced communication networks, and regulating market practices can build investor confidence. During the session, students gained valuable insights into the structure and functions of the National Stock Exchange (NSE) and the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE). It was concluded that both exchanges are vital pillars of the Indian stock market, with NSE leading in terms of volume and innovation, while BSE holds a significant historical legacy and a broader base of listed companies. The session effectively enhanced the students’ understanding of the stock exchanges and their role in the financial ecosystem.
Dasara Yuva Sambhrama -2025, the eight-day cultural extravaganza, as part of Nada Habba Dasara, was organised from September 10 th to September 18 th by Yuva sambrahma Subcommitee, Mysuru at Open Air Theatre in Manasagangothri, with an ode to erstwhile ruler of Mysuru Nalwadi KrishnarajaWadiyar. The cultural programme for the event on September 14 th , 2025 was organized by Cultural Committee MMK and SDM MMV, Mysuru. A team of 36 students from all the streams of BCA, B Com, BBA and B Sc participated and presented a spectacular and glorious dance performance on the theme “Janakendritha - Adivasajeevana”. The dance was choreographed by Ms Spandana, Mysuru. The tribal expression reflecting the daily life, traditions, and cultural events of indigenous communities was perfomed by the students. The felicitation from Yuva sambrahma Subcommitee, Mysuru was done post performance.

Book exhibition was held in MMK SDM MMV Library, Mysore to commemorate the birth anniversary of Kannada writer K P Poornachandra Tejaswi on 08.09.2025. Books written by Tejaswi were displayed. The objective of the exhibition was to create awareness and create interest among the students regarding the nature which are depicted in his literary works.
100 students and 10 faculty viewed the exhibition.
To enhance students’ understanding of the research process, acquaint them with essential tools and methodologies and to create awareness of current advancements in the IT domain the Department of Computer Science hosted a Guest Lecture Programme titled “The Research Road Map: Tools, Techniques and Trends” on 4th September 2025 by Dr. Annapurna H., Associate Professor, Department of Computer Science, Yuvaraja’s College, Mysuru.
Dr Annapurna H engaged the audience with her enriching insights on the steps of the research process, essential tools and techniques, and the future landscape of technologies such as Artificial Intelligence, Big Data Analytics, Cloud Computing, Edge Computing and Cyber Security, encouraging students to align their learning with current industry trends and research opportunities.
The event was presided over by Prof. Bharathi N., Principal, along with Smt. K. S. Sukrutha, Head of the Department of Computer Science. The program was successfully coordinated by Smt. Nayana M. P., Assistant Professor, and witnessed active participation by 261 BCA students and faculty members of the department.
The lecture enriched students’ knowledge of research methodology and advanced technologies, encouraging them to adopt a research-oriented mindset. Faculty and students alike gained fresh perspectives on applying innovative tools and approaches in academic and professional domains.
On 6th September 2025, the Teacher’s Day celebration was organized by the Student Welfare Committee and Student Council members. The program commenced with an invocation, followed by a floral tribute to the portrait of Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan. In her presidential address, Principal Smt. Bharathi N spoke about the significance of surveillance and coherence in the teaching profession and encouraged everyone to explore their inner potential and strive for excellence.
Students presented a series of entertaining performances, including dances and skits dedicated to their teachers. Fun activities such as ramp walk, singing, and games like Land and Water, Passing the Ball, and Lucky Dip added excitement to the event. Prizes for the first and second positions were awarded to the winners.
The celebration was marked by enthusiasm, laughter, and a sense of camaraderie, with staff members appreciating the efforts put in by the Student Council members.

The initiative aimed to empower students with career awareness and direction, helping them explore their strengths, define their goals, and create a structured pathway toward their career aspirations—thereby promoting both personal and professional development.

On Sept 3rd, 2025 the Department of Biochemistry, in association with the IQAC of MMK & SDM Mahila Mahavidyalaya, Mysore , organized a hands-on workshop on “Insights to Forensics” at the College Auditorium.
The event was presided over by Prof. Bharathi N., Principal, and convened by Smt. Meghana M., HoD of Biochemistry. The workshop featured expert sessions by Dr. Arun M, Professor of Forensic Medicine, JSS Medical College, Mysuru. and Dr. G. B. Aravind, Associate Professor at JSS Medical College and Dr. G. J. Sathisha , Professor of Biochemistry, Kuvempu University .
Sessions covered topics such as forensic medicine, career opportunities, DNA fingerprinting, and molecular evidence in crime detection. The highlight was a hands-on training where participants practiced crime scene examination, fingerprint analysis, and blood detection tests.
The workshop enriched students with practical skills and insights into modern forensic science, bridging classroom learning with real-world applications.
On 4th, Sept 2025, The Department of Business Administration of MMK & SDM Mahila Mahavidyalaya organized an educational visit to the Payana Car Museum, Mysuru, for 46 BBA students. The visit was led by Mr. Shivabeerappa M., HOD, Department of Business Administration, and Ms. Vachana R.
Established under the vision of Dr. Veerendra Heggade Ji, Dharmadhikari of Dharmasthala, the museum showcases the evolution of the automobile industry—from vintage classics to modern innovations. Students gained valuable insights into the growth of mobility, technology, and sustainability, while also appreciating the cultural and historical significance of automobiles.
The visit highlighted Dr. Veerendra Heggade Ji’s efforts in preserving heritage for future generations, making it both an informative and inspiring experience for the students.
The Young India (Mysore Chapter), in collaboration with the Department of Commerce, MMK & SDM Mahila Mahavidyalaya, Mysore, organized an industrial visit to ITC, Thandavapura on 04.09.2025. A group of 20 students participated in the visit, accompanied by Mr. Niranth M. R. YI Coordinator and Ms. Prathima M, Assistant Professor.
The program was also graced by Mr. Gagan Ranka, Young India Chair; Mr. Abhinav, Young India Chair; Mr. Gautham Raju, Managing Director of Daksha College, along with other dignitaries.
During the visit, the students gained valuable insights into the entire process of transforming raw tobacco into a finished product. They observed the sequential stages, including procurement, grading, curing, drying, blending, and packaging—each carried out with meticulous quality checks and precision.
Students from MMK & SDM MMV, Mysore participated in the Intercollegiate competition “Speak the Speech” organized by the Department of English, NIE First Grade College, Mysore.
On 2nd September 2025, the Department of English deputed two students, Adithi Bharadwaj (II B.Com B) and Divija Bharadwaj (I B.Com B), to take part in the event, which celebrated the works of William Shakespeare by encouraging participants to deliver and enact iconic Shakespearean characters. The competition witnessed enthusiastic participation from several colleges.
Both students performed with dedication and expressive flair. Notably, Adithi Bharadwaj captivated the judges with her remarkable performance and secured First Place in the competition.
On 3rd September 2025, the Youth Red Cross, NSS, and Rangers Unit of MMK & SDM MMV, Mysore jointly organized a Campus Cleaning Program. The initiative witnessed the enthusiastic participation of more than 30 students, with the active presence of all coordinators.
The program aimed to maintain a clean, hygienic, and eco-friendly campus environment, thereby promoting the health and well-being of students, faculty, and staff.
