MMK & SDM Mahila Mahavidyalaya, Mysuru, in association with IQAC, organized an Institutional Visit to MYRA School of Business, Mysuru, on 25th September 2026 from 9:15 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. The visit was organized for 140 students of III BBA and III BCA with the objective of providing students with exposure to the importance and relevance of Cyber Security in the digital and business environment.

The institutional visit was organized under the guidance of Smt. K. S. Sukrutha, Head, Department of Computer Science, and Mr. Shivabeerappa M., Head, Department of Business Administration. Smt. Nayana M. P., Assistant Professor, Department of Computer Science, Smt. Hajra Begum, Assistant Professor, Department of Business Administration, and Ms. Reshma, Assistant Professor, Department of Computer Science are served as the Coordinators and supported the students during the visit.

As part of the institutional visit, students were introduced to the significance of cyber security and its growing relevance in the academic, personal and business domains. The visit provided students with an opportunity to gain practical exposure and understand how organizations address various digital security challenges. Students were sensitized to common cyber threats such as phishing, malware, hacking, identity theft and social engineering, along with the importance of data privacy and responsible use of digital platforms.

The visit helped students connect their academic knowledge with practical aspects of cyber security and understand the importance of protecting personal, financial and organizational information. It also enhanced their awareness of safe digital practices and the role of cyber security in modern businesses. Overall, the institutional visit to Myra School of Business was an informative and valuable learning experience that broadened the students’ understanding of cyber security and its relevance in the contemporary digital business environment.

The NSS Unit of MMK & SDM Mahila Mahavidyalaya, Mysuru, in association with Annapoorna Eye Hospital, mysore organized an Eye Check-Up Camp on 26th September 2026 at the college campus. The camp was specially organized on the occasion of the Parent-Teacher Meeting, making it convenient for parents and college staff to avail themselves of the eye-care services.

The camp was conducted from 12:00 PM to 4:30 PM with the objective of creating awareness about eye health, promoting regular eye check-ups, and providing accessible eye-care services. The programme included eye check-ups, free eye consultation, and awareness on eye care.

A total of 65 parents, teaching staff, and non-teaching staff benefited from the programme. The participants underwent eye examinations and received professional guidance regarding eye health and necessary care.

The programme was organized under the guidance of Prof. N. Bharathi, Principal, Smt. K. S. Sukrutha, IQAC Co-Ordinator with Smt. Anitha P. Jayaram, NSS Co-Ordinator, as the Organizer. The program became successfull with the support of Committee members. The initiative served as a meaningful effort towards promoting awareness and preventive eye care among the college community and parents.

A Book Exhibition and Sales Programme was organized by the Department of Library, MMK & SDM Mahila Mahavidyalaya, Mysuru, in association with Navakarnataka Publications, Mysuru, and Ramakrishna Ashrama, Mysuru, on 24th and 25th September 2026 at the college premises.

The exhibition was inaugurated by Prof. Bharathi N, Principal, MMK & SDM MMV, who addressed the gathering and emphasized the importance and benefits of reading books in enhancing knowledge, developing critical thinking, and fostering a lifelong learning habit. Smt. Shobha S. P, Principal, MMK & SDM Girls PU College, graced the occasion.

Smt. Jyothilakshmi G. Kava, Student Welfare Officer; Smt. Padma B. S., Librarian; faculty members, students, and library staff were present on the occasion. Mr. Yogesh and Mr. Ravindra Swamy, representatives of M/s Navakarnataka Publications, and Mr. Raghavendra, representative of Ramakrishna Ashrama, also attended the programme.

A wide range of books was displayed for the benefit of students and faculty members. The exhibition provided an opportunity for the college community to explore and purchase books of their interest. Students and faculty members actively participated in the exhibition and purchased books, making the programme a meaningful initiative to promote reading and enrich the learning environment on campus.

The Department of Computer Science organized a guest lecture on “AI-Based Face Recognition Using Machine Learning and Deep Learning” on 21 September 2026 at 10:30 a.m. in Room No. S206. The programme was organized by Smt. Kavya S. N., Assistant Professor, Department of Computer Science. The session was delivered by Dr. Supreetha Gowda H D, Assistant Professor, Department of Computer Science, PG Wing, SBBR Mahajana First Grade College (Autonomous), Mysuru.

The resource person explained key concepts of Machine Learning and Deep Learning and their applications in face recognition. She elaborated on classification techniques, including binary classification, multi-class classification, and multi-label classification, and explained their role in categorizing data. The session also covered clustering and regression and their applications in solving different types of problems.

The resource person further explained the confusion matrix, including True Positive, True Negative, False Positive, and False Negative, used for evaluating classification models. She also introduced max pooling, an important operation in Convolutional Neural Networks (CNNs), and explained its role in extracting significant features while reducing the size of feature maps.

A total of 100 final-year BCA students participated in the session, along with faculty members of the Department of Computer Science. The interactive lecture provided students with valuable insights into current AI technologies and enabled them to clarify their queries with the resource person.

The Legal Literacy Club (LLC) of MMK & SDM MMV, Mysuru, organized an educational visit to the Mysuru District Court on 21 and 22 September 2026 for the students of III B.Com ‘A’ and III B.Com ‘B’, respectively. A total of 110 students participated in the visit.

The students had the opportunity to observe live courtroom proceedings, including case hearings, arguments, and various judicial procedures. The visit provided them with firsthand exposure to the functioning of the judicial system and helped them gain a better understanding of court procedures and the process of case proceedings.

The visit was coordinated by Smt. Prathima M., LLC Coordinator, and accompanied by Ms. Harshitha P. The educational visit enhanced the students’ legal awareness, familiarized them with the practical aspects of the judicial process, and encouraged them to become more informed and responsible citizens.

The Department of Computer Science, MMK & SDM Mahila Mahavidyalaya, Mysuru, organized an Interclass Tech Talk Competition on 19 September 2026. The competition provided students with an opportunity to enhance their knowledge, communication skills and awareness of emerging technologies.

A total of 10 students from the BCA and B.Sc. Computer Science programmes participated in the competition and delivered informative presentations on various recent technological trends, including Agentic AI, Agent AI, the New iPhone Camera Feature – Dynamic Island, Organoid Intelligence, Edge AI and several other emerging technologies.

Smt. Ramya S. K., Associate Professor, Department of Computer Science, served as the coordinator of the competition. The presentations were evaluated by Smt. Rajitha V., Associate Professor of Computer Science, and Ms. Sowmya N., Assistant Professor of Computer Science.

The winners of the competition were Ms. Akshatha N. of III BCA, who secured the First Prize; Ms. Akshatha M. of II BCA, who secured the Second Prize; and Ms. Sinchana of II B.Sc. Computer Science, who secured the Third Prize.

The competition encouraged students to explore emerging technologies, share their knowledge and develop their presentation and communication skills.

The Career Guidance & Placement Cell, an IQAC initiative of MMK & SDM Mahila Mahavidyalaya, Mysuru, inaugurated a Two-Day Skill Development Programme for all First-Year Students on 22nd September 2026 at the college Auditorium. The programme was organized with the objective of enhancing the skills, confidence, communication abilities and overall employability of students.

The programme was inaugurated by Smt. Vidya Murthy, Founder, Gurukula Academy, Bangalore, who addressed the students and emphasized the importance of developing relevant skills for personal growth and future career opportunities. The programme was presided over by Prof. N. Bharathi, Principal, whose presence encouraged the students to actively participate in the sessions.

Smt. K. S. Sukrutha, IQAC Coordinator and Head, Department of Computer Science, supported the initiative. Mr. Mahadevaswamy S, Coordinator, served asr the organizer, along with the organizing faculty members Dr. Raghavendra, Sri. Niranth M. R., Dr. Harshitha Mallik, Ms. Bhargavi H. G., Mr. Abhishek S, Smt. Amrutha P. Nayak and Mrs. Chaitra H. V. and Student members Ms. Janifar Rani, Ms. Harshitha P, Ms. Anusha A. R., Ms. Vaishnavi R, Ms. Sharanya B. S., Ms. Akshatha N, Ms. Thanushree P and Ms. Ranjitha C also contributed to the organization of the programme.

The inauguration marked the beginning of a structured aimed at empowering young minds and preparing first-year students for academic, personal and future professional challenges. The programme encouraged students to actively engage in skill-building activities and make effective use of opportunities for their overall development.

A guest lecture on “Consumer Protection Act, 1986 and 2019” was organized for the III BBA students of MMK & SDM Mahila Mahavidyalaya, Mysuru, by Smt. Hajra Begum, Assistant Professor, Department of Business Administration. Ms. Rashmi R., B.A., LL.B., LL.M., Assistant Professor, SBRR Mahajana Law College, Mysuru, was the invited resource person.

The session focused on creating awareness among students about consumer protection laws, consumer rights and the remedies available to consumers. The resource person explained important consumer rights, including the Right to Safety, Right to Information, Right to Choose, Right to be Heard, Right to Seek Redressal and Right to Consumer Education. She also highlighted the major provisions ande changes introduced under the Consumer Protection Act, 2019, including improved mechanisms for consumer grievance redressal and the role of Consumer Commissions. Section 38(6) and its relevance in consumer complaint proceedings were also explained with practical examples.

The session enhanced the students’ understanding of consumer protection laws and helped them relate legal provisions to real-life situations. It also sensitized them to their rights and responsibilities as consumers and the importance of seeking appropriate redressal against unfair trade practices.

The Home Management Committee of MMK & SDM Mahila Mahavidyalaya, Krishnamurthypuram, Mysuru, organized a Home Management Session on “Love Yourself for Happy Life” on 19 September 2026 in the College Auditorium for all second-year students. The session aimed to create awareness among students about the importance of self-love, self-care, physical and mental well-being, healthy lifestyle practices, and maintaining a positive outlook towards life. Ms. Nethravathi D. M., Clinical Dietician, SIMS & RH, Tumkur, served as the Resource Person and shared valuable insights on the importance of balanced nutrition, healthy habits, emotional well-being, self-esteem, and taking care of oneself for leading a happy and fulfilling life. The session encouraged students to understand the connection between a healthy mind, a healthy body, and a positive life, while also emphasizing the importance of accepting oneself and developing healthy daily routines. Presiding over the programme, Prof. N. Bharathi, Principal, highlighted the importance of maintaining physical and emotional well-being and encouraged students to give priority to self-care and personal development. The programme was conducted in the presence of Smt. K. S. Sukrutha, IQAC Coordinator and HOD, Department of Computer Science. The programme was coordinated by Sri. B. N. Maruthi Prasanna, Coordinator of home management committee and Assistant Professor, Department of Kannada, with the support of the organizing faculty members Smt. R. Rajeshwari, Smt. Kavya S. N., Smt. Sahana B., Smt. Chaitra H. V., Ms. Diyashree R., and Dr. Srinivas. A total of 197 students participated in the session. The session was informative and engaging, helping students understand the significance of self-love, healthy living, positive thinking, and emotional well-being, and encouraging them to adopt a balanced and happy lifestyle.

The 29th edition of the Smt. Lakshmi Nagaraju Memorial Intercollegiate State-Level Karnataka Classical Singing Competition was organized by the Cultural Committee and IQAC of MMK & SDM MMV, Mysuru, on 18th September 2026 to promote traditional music and encourage young musical talents in memory of the renowned classical singer, Smt. Lakshmi Nagaraju. The inaugural programme was graced by Padma Shri Dr. Mysore Manjunath, renowned Carnatic violinist, Mysuru, as the Chief Guest and Smt. Nalini Shrikanta, Sponsor and Former Governing Body Member, Mysuru, as the Guest of Honour. Prof. Bharathi N., Principal, MMK & SDM MMV, presided over the programme. Smt. Shobha S. P., Principal, SDM PU College, Dr. Vinoda, Cultural Committee Coordinator, and Dr. Shwetha S., Programme Coordinator, were also present. A total of 26 participants from various PUC and undergraduate colleges participated and showcased their talent in Karnataka classical music. The competition was judged by Vidushi Dr. G. V. Subbalakshmi, Vidushi Smt. Uma Keshava Murthy, Vidushi Smt. Vedashree C. S., Vidushi Smt. Manjula and Smt. Manasa. In the offline competition, Ms. Ramaa Sahasra of Jnanodaya PU College, Mysuru, secured the First Prize, Ms. Niramaya V. Rao of Marimallappa’s PU College, Mysuru, secured the Second Prize, and Ms. Manogna Keshav of GSSS Engineering College, Mysuru, secured the Third Prize, while Ms. Aditi A. of Teressian College, Mysuru, and Ms. Shreelakshmi M. of Pramati PU College, Mysuru, received Consolation Prizes. In the online competition, Ms. Sahana of Gangubai Hanagal College, Hassan, secured the First Prize and Ms. Shreya Sudheendra of S. Nijalingappa College, Bengaluru, secured the Second Prize. All participants received certificates, while the winners were awarded cash prizes. The event was successfully coordinated by the Cultural Committee members Mr. Abhishek S., Ms. Kavyashree K. L., Smt. Chaithra H. V., Ms. Kavyashree A. C., and Ms. Ankitha S. The competition provided a valuable platform for young talents to showcase their musical abilities and contributed to the promotion and preservation of Karnataka’s rich classical music tradition.

The Department of Microbiology, MMK & SDM Mahila Mahavidyalaya, Mysuru, in association with the Microbiological Society, India (MBSI), organized an International Microorganism Day Celebration on 17th September 2026 at 11:00 a.m. The programme aimed to create awareness about the importance of microorganisms and their significant role in human health, agriculture, industry, and the environment.

Dr. M. Y. Sreenivas, Professor and Director, IQAC, Department of Studies in Microbiology, University of Mysore, Mysuru, was the Chief Guest. He shared valuable insights into the fascinating world of microorganisms and highlighted their importance in various fields of science and everyday life.

Prof. N. Bharathi, Principal, presided over the programme. Mrs. Atiya Sameen M. P., Assistant Professor and Head, Department of Microbiology, served as the MBSI Coordinator, while Mrs. Rajarajeshwari R., Assistant Professor of Microbiology, was the Event Coordinator.

As part of the celebration, a series of competitions, including Poster Presentation, Product Presentation, and Comic Strip Competition, were conducted. Students actively participated and showcased their creativity, scientific knowledge, and understanding of microbiology.

The programme provided students with an opportunity to explore the diverse applications of microorganisms and develop greater awareness of their significance in everyday life and various scientific fields.

The Ganesha Chaturthi Celebration was organized by the Student Welfare Committee at MMK & SDM Mahila Mahavidyalaya, Mysuru, on 15th September 2026 with great devotion and enthusiasm. The celebration was graced by Prof. Bharathi N, Principal of the Degree College, Smt. Shobha S. P., Principal of the P.U. College, members of the Student Welfare Committee, teaching and non-teaching staff of both the P.U. and Degree sections, and a large number of students. The celebration commenced with the installation of a clay idol of Lord Ganesha on a beautifully decorated platform, followed by the invocation of Lord Ganesha through traditional mantras. Students and staff participated in singing devotional songs, creating a spiritual and festive atmosphere on the campus. Prasad and sweets were distributed to all those present. The celebration concluded successfully, fostering a sense of devotion, togetherness, and appreciation for cultural traditions among the college community.

A book exhibition was organized at the MMK & SDM MMV Library, Mysuru, on 15th September 2026 to commemorate National Hindi Diwas. The exhibition showcased a wide range of Hindi literature, including novels, short stories, biographies of renowned authors, Hindi Vyakaran books, and works on celebrated literary figures such as Kabir, Tulsidas, and Premchand. The exhibition provided an opportunity for students and faculty members to explore and appreciate Hindi literature. A total of 50 students and 10 faculty members visited the exhibition.

A book exhibition was organized at the MMK & SDM MMV Library, Mysuru, on 17th September 2026 to commemorate International Microorganisms Day. The exhibition featured a wide range of books on microorganisms, recent research in microbiology, and various aspects of microbiological sciences. The exhibition provided an opportunity for students and faculty members to enhance their knowledge and explore recent developments in the field of microbiology. A total of 85 students and 7 faculty members visited the exhibition.

A book exhibition was organized at the MMK & SDM MMV Library, Mysuru, on 8th September 2026 to commemorate the birth anniversary of renowned Kannada writer K. P. Purnachandra Tejasvi. Books authored by Tejasvi, including travelogues, science books, and novels, were displayed. The exhibition was visited by 93 students and 19 faculty members. 

A guest lecture on “Structure of Banks, Non-Banking Financial Companies and Insurance Companies” was organized by the Department of Business Administration, MMK & SDM MMV, Mysuru, on 12th September 2026 for II BBA students. Smt. Hajra Begum, Assistant Professor, coordinated the programme, and Ms. Sanjana Prabhu S., Customer Service Associate, Karnataka Bank Ltd., Devaraj Urs Road, Mysuru, served as the invited resource person. The session covered the structure, functions and services of banks, NBFCs and insurance companies, including deposits, loans, digital banking, customer services, financial services and risk management. Students gained practical knowledge about the differences between banks and NBFCs, various types of insurance and the importance of financial protection. The programme enhanced students’ understanding of the role of financial institutions in supporting economic development, maintaining financial stability and protecting individuals and businesses against financial risks.

A workshop on Stress Management and Acupressure Therapy was organized for the teaching and non-teaching staff members of MMK & SDM Mahila Mahavidyalaya, Mysuru, on 11th September 2026. Mr. C. B. Mohan Kumar, Chief Executive, Acupressure Systems, Bengaluru, was the resource person. He provided valuable insights into stress management and the benefits of acupressure therapy. The participants learned about various palm and foot pressure points and their significance in promoting well-being. They also explored acupressure products that can be used as part of daily wellness practices. Prof. N. Bharathi, Principal, Smt. K. S. Sukrutha, HOD, Department of Computer Science and IQAC Coordinator, and 50 faculty members were present during the session.

Mysuru , 02 September 2026: The Department of Mathematics, MMK & SDM  Mahila Mahavidyalaya, Mysuru, Inaugrated   Mathletes-   Mathematics Club 2026 on 2nd  September at the college auditorium. A total of 140 B.Sc students participated in the programme.

The programme was presided over by Prof. N. Bharathi,Principle, in the presence of Smt. Sukrutha K S , IQAC Coordinator, Smt. Chaitra N, Head & Assistant professor, Department of Mathematics, Smt.Geetha R, Assistant professor, Smt. Apeksha S , Assistant professor ,Department of Mathematics.  Miss G Suraksha , III B.Sc. (PMCs) welcomed the gathering. Miss. Chinmayi V, President of MATHLETES, III B.Sc. (PCM) presented the MATHLETES report of previous academic year 2025-26 .

Dr. Roopa S V ,Professor and Head of the Department of Mathematics ,NIE , Mysore inaugurated the  club by lighting the lamp and appreciated the club activities of previous year and introduced newly elected office bearers through a badge . 

The Department of Mathematics conducted Special lecture program on the topic " Applications Of Linear Algebra in Image Processing " to the Mathematics students of B.Sc.  Dr. Roopa S V ,Professor and Head of Department of Mathematics ,NIE College Mysore, was the Resource person. She balanced a chemical equation using the concepts of  matrices and vectors. Then she explained the the concept of image processing using matrices.

The programme inspired students to explore real life applications of  linear algebra and many other concept of mathematics.

ಪ್ರಸಿದ್ಧ ಜನಪದ ಗಾಯಕರು ಹಾಗೂ ಕರ್ನಾಟಕ ಜಾನಪದ ಅಕಾಡೆಮಿಯ ಸದಸ್ಯರಾದ ಶ್ರೀ ದೇವಾನಂದ ವರಪ್ರಸಾದ್ ಅವರು ನುಡಿರತ್ನ ಕನ್ನಡ ಸಂಘವನ್ನು ಉದ್ಘಾಟಿಸಿ ಮಾತನಾಡಿ

"ಜನಪದ ಸಾಹಿತ್ಯ ಮತ್ತು ಸಂಸ್ಕೃತಿ ನಮ್ಮ ಮಣ್ಣಿನ ಜೀವನಾಡಿ. ಆಧುನಿಕತೆಯ ಈ ಯುಗದಲ್ಲಿ ಯುವ ಪೀಳಿಗೆಯು ನಮ್ಮ ತಾಯ್ನುಡಿ ಕನ್ನಡ ಹಾಗೂ ಜನಪದ ಕಲೆಗಳನ್ನು ಉಳಿಸಿ ಬೆಳೆಸಿಕೊಂಡು ಹೋಗುವುದು ಅತ್ಯಗತ್ಯ. ಕಾಲೇಜು ಮಟ್ಟದಲ್ಲಿ ಇಂತಹ 'ನುಡಿರತ್ನ ಕನ್ನಡ ಸಂಘ'ಗಳು ರೂಪುಗೊಳ್ಳುವುದರಿಂದ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಭಾಷಾ ಪ್ರೇಮ ಮತ್ತು ಸಾಂಸ್ಕೃತಿಕ ಪ್ರಜ್ಞೆ ಹೆಚ್ಚುತ್ತದೆ. ಪ್ರತಿಯೊಬ್ಬ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಯೂ ನಮ್ಮ ನಾಡಿನ ಕಲೆ ಮತ್ತು ಸಾಹಿತ್ಯವನ್ನು ಆಸ್ವಾದಿಸುವ ಗುಣ ಬೆಳೆಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳಬೇಕು ಭಾಷೆ ಸಂಸ್ಕೃತಿ ಪರಂಪರೆಯ ಅರಿವಿನೊಂದಿಗೆ ಶಿಸ್ತು ಸಂಯಮ ಜೀವನ ಮೌಲ್ಯಗಳನ್ನು ಕಲಿಯಬಹುದು  ಎಂದು ತಿಳಿಸಿದರು

ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮದ ಅಧ್ಯಕ್ಷತೆಯನ್ನು ವಹಿಸಿದ್ದ ಕಾಲೇಜಿನ ಪ್ರಾಂಶುಪಾಲರಾದ ಪ್ರೊ. ಎನ್. ಭಾರತಿ ಅವರು ಮಾತನಾಡಿ, ಸಂಘದ ಮುಂಬರುವ ಚಟುವಟಿಕೆಗಳಿಗೆ ಶುಭ ಹಾರೈಸಿ ನಮ್ಮ ಮಹಾವಿದ್ಯಾಲಯವು ಶೈಕ್ಷಣಿಕ ಪ್ರಗತಿಯ ಜೊತೆಗೆ ಸಾಂಸ್ಕೃತಿಕ ಮೌಲ್ಯಗಳಿಗೂ ಹೆಚ್ಚಿನ ಆದ್ಯತೆ ನೀಡುತ್ತದೆ. ನುಡಿರತ್ನ ಕನ್ನಡ ಸಂಘ'ವು ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿನಿಯರ ಸೃಜನಶೀಲತೆಯನ್ನು ಹೊರತರಲು ಸೂಕ್ತ ವೇದಿಕೆಯಾಗಲಿದೆ. ಕನ್ನಡ ಭಾಷೆ, ರಂಗಭೂಮಿ ಮತ್ತು ಜಾನಪದ ಕ್ಷೇತ್ರದ ವಿವಿಧ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮಗಳನ್ನು ನಿರಂತರವಾಗಿ ಆಯೋಜಿಸುವ ಮೂಲಕ ಸಂಘವು ಯಶಸ್ವಿಯಾಗಿ ಕಾರ್ಯನಿರ್ವಹಿಸಲಿ ಎಂದು ಹಾರೈಸಿದರು

 ಮತ್ತು ಡಾ. ಅರುಣ್ ಕುಮಾರ್ ಕೆ. ಎನ್. ಉಪಸ್ಥಿತರಿದ್ದರು.ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮದಲ್ಲಿ ದ್ವಿತೀಯ ಪಿಯುಸಿ ತರಗತಿಯ ಕನ್ನಡ ಭಾಷಾ ವಿಷಯದಲ್ಲಿ 100 ಅಂಕ ಪಡೆದ ಏಳು ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳಿಗೆ ಪುಸ್ತಕ ಬಹುಮಾನ ನೀಡಿ ಗೌರವಿಸಲಾಯಿತು ಮತ್ತು ನೂತನ ಪದಾಧಿಕಾರಿಗಳಿಗೆ ಪ್ರತಿಜ್ಞಾವಿಧಿ ಬೋಧಿಸಲಾಹಿತು.

ಸಭಾ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮದ ನಂತರ ಮೈಸೂರಿನ 'ಏಕತಾರಿ ಸಾಂಸ್ಕೃತಿಕ ಸಂಘಟನೆ' ತಂಡದಿಂದ ಮನಮೋಹಕ ಜನಪದ ಮತ್ತು ರಂಗಗೀತೆಗಳ ಗಾಯನ ಪ್ರಸ್ತುತಿ ನಡೆಯಿತು. ಕಾಲೇಜಿನ ಅಧ್ಯಾಪಕರು, ಸಿಬ್ಬಂದಿ ಹಾಗೂ 302 ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿನಿಯರು ಭಾಗವಹಿಸಿ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮವನ್ನು ಯಶಸ್ವಿಗೊಳಿಸಿದರು.

The Department of Sanskrit of MMK & SDM Mahila Mahavidyalaya, Mysuru, organised a Guest Lecture on the occasion of Samskrutotsava 2026, a Sanskrit day,  on 04 September 2026 at the College Auditorium. The topic of the Guest Lecture was “The Concept of Universal Welfare in Sanskrit Literature.”

The programme was graced by Vidwan Narayana Desai, Sanskrit Lecturer, Maharshi Pre-University College, Mysuru, and a Yakshagana Talamaddale artist, as the Chief Guest. He delivered an insightful lecture on the topic and highlighted the timeless values embedded in Sanskrit literature and its enduring message of universal welfare.

The programme was presided over by Prof. Bharati N., Principal, who highlighted the richness and relevance of Sanskrit literature and encouraged students to cultivate a deeper interest in the study of Sanskrit and its invaluable knowledge tradition. Mrs. Sukrutha K. S., IQAC Coordinator, was also present on the dais.

The programme commenced with an invocation by the students Keerthana and team. Sparsha delivered the welcome address, while Ritisha spoke on the importance of Sanskrit and Sanskrit Day. Ramamani introduced the Chief Guest, and Bhoomika M. V. efficiently compered the programme.

The cultural programme featured a Sanskrit song by Amulya V. Acharya, a group song by Bhoomika M. V. and Divija Bharadwaj, Shloka chanting by Nityashree, and Guru Ashtakam by Nayana B. The programme concluded with the vote of thanks proposed by Srilakshmi.

The event was coordinated by Dr. Shrinivas, Head, Department of Sanskrit, with the active participation and enthusiastic involvement of the students.

Overall, Samskrutotsava 2026 emerged as a meaningful celebration of Sanskrit language and literature, India's rich knowledge tradition, and the creative talents of students.

An IQAC initiated - Teacher's Day celebration was held at MMK and SDM MMV Mysuru on 5th September 2026, organized by the Student welfare committee and Student council members. The event was held in the college quadrangle, with dignitaries including the Principal Smt. Bharathi N, IQAC coordinator Smt. K S Sukrutha and student welfare officer Smt. Jyothilakshmi G Kava.

 The program began with an invocation and paid homage to Dr. Sarvapalli Radhakrishnan's photograph with flowers. The students spoke about the significance of teacher’s day and expressed gratitude to all the faculty staff. The Principal quoted that Teaching Profession plays an eminent role in shaping young minds in her presidential address. She urged students to consider the guidance of teachers in a daily basis and attain success eventually. She quoted the the examples of alumni students who excelled brilliantly under teachers supervision. 

The students entertained the teachers with planning games, surprise wishes from their family members and giving gifts. The Fun activities included Ramp walk and games like Treasure hunt and Tug of war. The First and Second prizes were presented to the winners. The event was filled with entertainment and joyfulness, with staff praising the efforts of Student council members.

 The Literary Committee of MMK & SDM Mahila Mahavidyalaya, Mysuru, organised a Debate Competition on 3 September 2026 to provide students with a platform to develop their communication skills, critical thinking, logical reasoning and confidence in expressing their views.

A total of 36 students enthusiastically participated in the competition. The participants presented their arguments effectively, demonstrating their ability to analyse topics, articulate opinions and respond to opposing viewpoints. The event witnessed active participation and healthy intellectual engagement among the students.

The competition was judged by Ms. Padma B. S., Associate Professor, Department of Library, and Ms. Ujwala S. Shetty, Assistant Professor, Department of English. The participants were evaluated on content, clarity of thought, logical arguments, presentation, rebuttal skills and overall communication.

The programme was conducted under the encouragement and guidance of Prof. N. Bharathi, Principal, and Smt. K. S. Sukrutha, IQAC Coordinator. Dr. Shrinivas, Coordinator, Literary Committee, organised the event with the active support of the Literary Committee faculty and student members.

The competition provided students with a valuable opportunity to enhance their public-speaking skills, confidence, critical thinking and ability to engage in constructive discussions. The event concluded successfully with appreciation for the enthusiastic participation of the students and the collective efforts of the organising team.

The Department of English, JSS College for Women, Saraswathipuram, Mysuru, organised a One-Day State-Level Seminar on “Land, Landscape and Ecological Consciousness in New Literatures” as an IQAC initiative on 1 September 2026 at the Navajyothi Auditorium. The seminar brought together eminent academicians and scholars to discuss ecological perspectives and the representation of land and landscape in contemporary literature.

MMK & SDM Mahila Mahavidyalaya, Mysuru, participated in the seminar with 10 students from the Department of English. The students were accompanied by Brunda R., Head, Department of English; Ujwala S. Shetty, Assistant Professor; and Sachin M. K., Assistant Professor, Department of English.

The academic sessions featured Dr. H. K. Shivalingaswamy, Senior Professor, Tumakuru University, who spoke on “Rethinking Land as an Ecological Community”; Dr. P. Venkatesh, Professor, Maharaja’s College, Mysuru, who addressed “Landscape as Scaffolding and Edifice in Modernist Indian English Poetry”; and Dr. A. Sowmya, Associate Professor, D. Devaraj Urs Government First Grade College, Hunsur, who discussed “Fractured Landscapes of War in South Asian War Fiction.”

The seminar provided the participating students with valuable exposure to contemporary literary studies, ecological consciousness and new perspectives on land and landscape through scholarly presentations and academic interactions.
