On 30th July 2024, NSS unit of MMK and SDM MMV organized a Kargil Vijay Diwas commemoration guest lecture delivered by Mr. Sagar, Director of YUVA Brigade, Mysore. The programme was chaired by Smt. K S Sukrutha, Coordinator, IQAC. Mr. Sagar’s lecture presented a comprehensive and engaging account of the Kargil conflict, giving valuable insights into the strategic, operational and human aspects of the war. The lecture was followed by an interactive question and answer session where students had an opportunity to ask questions and participate in discussions. During the session Smt. Anitha P Jayaram, NSS Coordinator, Sri. Maruthi Prasanna BK and Ms. Prathima M, NSS members were present.
On 30th July 2024, the Department of Computer Science held an insightful orientation program for first-year BCA and B.Sc. students about the department, led by Smt. Sukrutha K. S., Head of the Department. The session offered a comprehensive overview of the department’s inception, its vision and mission, and the various academic and extracurricular opportunities available. Attendees learned about the faculty's qualifications and expertise, the diverse range of courses offered and the department’s commitment to best practices in teaching and student engagement. The program highlighted the department’s strengths, including its impressive student results and active involvement in conferences, workshops, and faculty development programs. Additionally, it showcased the notable achievements of both staff and students, such as publications, patents, and awards. The orientation also covered important rules and regulations to ensure a smooth and successful academic journey for the new students. This orientation programme familiarized the new students to an unknown campus environment, its faculties and infrastructure. It also enabled them to make essential connections with studies and develop networks among other peers. The staff members of the department were present during the orientation programme.
III BCA and BSc Computer Science students of MMK and SDM MMV, participated in the Student Enablement Program organized by Infosys Springboard from July 22 to July 26, 2024. This 5-day program covered a range of topics essential for modern computer science education like Introduction to Artificial Intelligence, Deep Learning, Natural Language Processing, Robotic Process Automation, Computer Vision & Data Science. Upon completing the program, students were eligible to pursue the Artificial Intelligence Foundation Certification. The certification exams were held on July 29 and July 30, 2024. Out of 79 participating students, around 45 students successfully cleared the exams and received their foundation and primer certificates. This achievement highlights the dedication and hard work of the students and the effectiveness of the enablement program in preparing them for advanced certifications in artificial intelligence.
The University of Mysore celebrated its 108th Foundation Day on July 29, 2024, marking a significant milestone in its history of academic excellence and institutional development. 20 NSS volunteers of MMK and SDM Mahila Mahavidyalaya and NSS coordinator Smt. Anitha P Jayaram witnessed the event.
Vice-Chancellor Prof. Lokanath N K delivered the welcome address, highlighting the university’s remarkable growth and achievements over the past 108 years. The chief guest for the occasion, Dr. Gururaj Karajagi, a renowned motivational speaker and educationalist, spoke about the pivotal roles played by Mysuru Maharaja Sri Nalvadi Krishnaraja Wadiyar and Diwan Sir M. Visvesvaraya in the establishment of the university.
The celebration was a testament to the enduring legacy and continued commitment of the University of Mysore to fostering education and development. The presence of NSS volunteers and their coordinator underscored the spirit of community and service that the university instills in its students.
On 26th July 2024, the Student Welfare Committee at MMK and SDM Mahila Mahavidyalaya, Mysore, organized an orientation program for first-year students. The event aimed to welcome new students, familiarize them with the college's history and opportunities, and motivate them for their academic journey. The Master of Ceremonies, Smt. Brunda R, delivered a positive presentation. Smt. Jyothilakshmi G Kava welcomed the attendees.
The In-charge Principal Smt. K.S Sukrutha introduced the college, discussing its history, founders, committees, student roles, academic expectations, and opportunities. Her motivational words inspired students and provided an insightful introduction to the institution.
In order to encourage academic performance and inspire new students, the College and Student Welfare Committee awarded students with high pre-university exam results exceeding 95%.
The college library was discussed by Smt. Padma B S, Head of the Department of Library, who highlighted its resources and encouraged students to use them. Smt. Malathi N, Head of Physical Education, highlighted the college's sports programs and the National Service Scheme, Ranger Unit, and Youth Red Cross. Dr. Vinoda, Head of the Department of Kannada, emphasized the importance of adhering to rules to maintain campus discipline. The program concluded with a vote of thanks from Smt. Athiya Sameen M P, Head of Microbiology.
P.G Department of commerce organised Industrial visit to ponlait milk plant and educational trip to Pondicherry on 13/7/2024 to 16/7/2024. 14 II M.Com students participated along with one staff member Dr.Devaki K.K. The industrial visit encourages innovative thinking and insight knowledge of real challenges faced by the industry.This type of visit prepares the master level students to the professional world.
P.G Department of commerce and I M.Com students organised farewell-CIAO to II M.Com students on 11/7/2024 in the College auditorium. Prof.Bharathi principal of the college graced the formal occasion.Her presidential remarks were the best wishes to outgoing students.All students should act with integrity and innate wisdom.Let all young minds be enlightened with truth. Staff members of the PG Commerce department were present during the programme.
The annual Alumni Meet of MMK & SDM Mahila Maha Vidyalaya was held on 13th July 2024 at the college auditorium. The event, organized by the Rathna Manasa Hiriya Vidyarthiniyara Sangha (Alumni Association), attracted 67 alumni from various batches. The purpose was to reconnect alumni with their alma mater, foster professional networking, and celebrate the institution's achievements. The event began with an invocation by Ms. Shambhavi & Group, followed by a welcome speech by Ms. Prathima M, Assistant Professor of Commerce. Smt. K S Sukrutha, IQAC Coordinator & Treasurer of the Alumni Association, presented the financial report for 2023-2024, ensuring transparency and accountability. Smt. Chaitra N, Coordinator of the Alumni Association, provided a comprehensive report on the association's activities, emphasizing its role in fostering a strong alumni network. Prof. Sainath Malligemadu, Former Principal of MMK & SDM Mahila Maha Vidyalaya, addressed the gathering, emphasizing the importance of alumni engagement and the impact of alumni contributions on the institution's development. Ms. Yogitha A G, an alumnus of the 2014-2017 batch at Accenture, shared her professional journey and the impact of her education at MMK & SDM Mahila Maha Vidyalaya. Prof. N Bharathi led an interactive session, allowing alumni to voice their opinions and concerns. Principal Consultant Smt. Maheshwari Shwetha R C commended the alumni association's efforts and encouraged continued engagement. The event concluded with a vote of thanks by Dr. N Pushpalatha, Head & Associate Professor of Hindi, expressing gratitude to attendees, organizers, and volunteers.

On 16-7-2024 - Smt.K.S.Sukrutha, Head & Associate Professor of Computer Science and Smt.Ramya S K , Associate Professor of Computer Science attended REFORMS 2024, BINARY ACCREDITATION , SOUTHERN REGION CONSULTATIVE WORKSHOP at JN TATA AUDITORIUM, IISC , BENGALURU. During the workshop Dr.Prathibha Singh, DEPUTY ADVISER, NAAC, welcomed the distinguished guests on the Dias and around 1100 participants from different states of southern region, followed by brief note on the workshop by Prof.Ganesan Kannabiran , Director NAAC , followed by special address by Prof.G.Mugesh , Dean , IISC , Bengaluru and Dr.Renu Jain, VC , Devi Ahilya Vishwavidyalaya , Indore, MP & Member EC , NAAC, further followed by Inaugural address by Dr.Nirmaljeet Singh Kali, Former Chairman, NCVET and Vote of Thanks by Dr. Neelesh Landry, Assistant Adviser, NAAC. The workshop had three technical sessions by Prof.Ganesan Kannabiran , Director, NAAC , Dr.Devender S Kawday, Adviser , NAAC and session 3 was panel discussion and the prominent personalities of NAAC answered the queries of the participants of different states. The workshop gave a brief idea regarding Binary accreditation with 10 attributes and Maturity Based Graded Levels( Level 1 to Level 5)
Mysuru, July 01: 21 M.Com students of MMK and SDM MMV participated in MANASVRIDDHI, a two day university level Commerce fest 2024 organized by University of Mysore. M.Com students of the college won the Overall Championship at the Fest. Students won I prize in Best Manager, I prize in Taxation, II prize in HRM, II prize in Group Dance competitions. The students have received trophies and cash prize worth of Rs.15000.
