Professor Sainath Malligemadu, the Principal, presented an overview of the college's activities, achievements and developments to the LIC Committee. The committee offered valuable suggestions for enhancing the quality of the college. Heads of Departments from all departments were in attendance.
On May 30th, 2024, the Department of Computer Science at MMK and SDM Mahila Maha Vidyalaya arranged an educational visit for the final-year BCA students to CYBER VERSE, the cybersecurity laboratory at MYRA School of Business in Mysuru. The purpose of this visit was to provide the students with an in-depth understanding of various cybersecurity domains, career opportunities in the field, and practical insights into the smart city concept. The students participated in two enlightening sessions. The first session, led by Mr. Shreyas, the Product Development Manager at MYRA School of Business, focused on career prospects in cybersecurity. The second session, conducted by Dr. K. Prakash K. Nair, Vice Dean and Professor of Organizational Behavior and Leadership at MYRA School of Business, delved into personality development and achieving career success. A total of 41 final year BCA students were benefited by the visit. The faculty members of the Computer Science department also visited the MYRA campus along with the students.
Department of Computer Science had conducted 34 Hrs Addon Certificate Course on Python Programming to final year B.Sc Life Science and Physical Science students. The course provides a solid foundation for non-computer science students to start their journey in programming with Python.
By covering fundamental concepts, data structures, control structures, and introducing object - oriented and functional programming paradigms, students will gain the skills and confidence to write Python programs, solve problems, and pursue further study or projects in various domains that related to their area of interest. This course is specially designed for non - computer science students for their research work in their respective subject areas such as bioinformatics applications, genome analysis, aligning DNA and protein sequences, identify genetic variations, performing gene expression analysis, kinetic and thermodynamic calculations, as well as in quantum chemistry and molecular mechanics, numerical simulations, data analysis, and visualization and so on. Python has been adopted by many non- programmers such as accountants and scientists, for a variety of everyday tasks.
A total of 45 students enrolled for the course. Theory and Practical examination was conducted on 8 th and 9 th May 2024 respectively . Certificates were distributed to the Twenty one students who successfully completed the course on 28th May 2024. Smt. K S Sukrutha, Head of Department of Computer Science was the Coordinator of the course, Smt. Nayana M P and Ms. Bhargavi H G were the Co-coordinators.
ಜಗತ್ತಿನ ಜನಸಂಖ್ಯೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಅತಿ ಹೆಚ್ಚು ಮಹಿಳೆಯರೇ ಇದ್ದರೂ ಅತಿ ಹೆಚ್ಚಿನ ದೌರ್ಜನ್ಯಗಳು ಮಹಿಳೆಯರ ಮೇಲೆ ಉಂಟಾಗುವುತ್ತಿರುವುದು ಅತ್ಯಂತ ಅಪಾಯಕಾರಿ ಬೆಳವಣಿಗೆ. ಜಗತ್ತಿನ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ದೇಶಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಮಹಿಳೆಯರ ಸಬಲೀಕರಣ, ಉನ್ನತಿಗಾಗಿ ಮತ್ತು ರಕ್ಷಣೆಗಾಗಿ ದೇಶದ ಸಂವಿಧಾನವು ಮೌಲ್ಯಯುತವಾದ ಸಂವಿಧಾನಾತ್ಮಕ ಮತ್ತು ಕಾನೂನು ಬದ್ಧವಾದ ಹಲವು ಅವಕಾಶಗಳನ್ನುಜೀವನಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ಸಂತೋಷದ ಬದುಕು ಎಂಬ ಕಡ್ಡಾಯ ಆಡ್ ಆನ್ ಕೋರ್ಸ್ ನ ಭಾಗದ " ಸಾಂವಿಧಾನದ ಹಕ್ಕುಗಳು ಮತ್ತು ಮಹಿಳಾ ಸಂರಕ್ಷಣೆ" ಕುರಿತ ವಿಶೇಷ ಉಪನ್ಯಾಸದಲ್ಲಿ ಸಂಪನ್ಮೂಲವ್ಯಕ್ತಿಗಳಾಗಿ ಮಾತನಾಡಿದರು.
ಸಂವಿಧಾನದಲ್ಲಿ ಮೂಲಭೂತ ಹಕ್ಕುಳಿಂದ ಹಾಗೂ ರಾಷ್ಟ್ರಪತಿಗಳ ಅಂಕಿತದಲ್ಲಿ ಸಂಸತ್ತ್ ಕಾನೂನು ರೂಪಿಸಿ ಗೊಂಡು ದೇಶದಲ್ಲಿ ಮಹಿಳೆಯರಿಗೆ ಹಕ್ಕುಗಳು, ಕರ್ತವ್ಯಗಳು ಪುರುಷನಂತೆ ಸಮಾನವಾಗಿದ್ದು ಅವುಗಳ ಪಾಲನೆ ಮಾಡಿದಾಗ ಸಮಾಜದಲ್ಲಿ ಸುರಕ್ಷತೆಯನ್ನು ಕಾಣಬಹುದು. ಜಾತಿ ಧರ್ಮ ವರ್ಣದ ದೃಷ್ಟಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಎಲ್ಲರೂ ಸಮಾನರು. ಸಂವಿಧಾನದ ಜಾತ್ಯತೀತ ಸಾರ್ವಭೌಮತ್ವವನ್ನು ಪ್ರತಿಯೊಬ್ಬರು ಅನುಸರಿಸಬೇಕು ಮಹಿಳೆಯು ಹಲವು ರೀತಿಯ ಹಕ್ಕುಗಳನ್ನು ಪಡೆದಿದ್ದು ಇವುಗಳನ್ನು ಪಡೆಯುವ ಮನಸ್ಸು ಮಾಡಬೇಕಾಗಿದೆ ದೇಶದಲ್ಲಿ ವರದಕ್ಷಿಣೆ ನಿಷೇಧ ಕಾನೂನು, ಲಿಂಗ ತಾರತಮ್ಯ ವಿರುದ್ಧದ ಕಾನೂನು, ಅಸಭ್ಯ ರೀತಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಮಹಿಳೆ ಯ ನ್ನು ಬಿಂಬಿಸುವ ನಿಷೇದದ ಕಾನೂನು,ಸತಿ ಸಹಗಮನ ನಿಷೇಧ ಕಾನೂನು, ಸಾಮಾಜಿಕ ಮತ್ತು ಕೌಟುಂಬಿಕ ದೌರ್ಜನ್ಯ ವಿರುದ್ಧ ಕಾನೂನು, ಮೊದಲಾದ ಕಾನೂನುಗಳನ್ನು ರೂಪಿಸಲಾಗಿದೆ,
ಮಹಿಳೆಯರು ಕಾನೂನು ನೆರವು ಪಡೆಯಲು ಕಾನೂನು ಸೇವೆಗಳ ಪ್ರಾಧಿಕಾರ, ರಾಜ್ಯ ಮಹಿಳಾ ಆಯೋಗ, ರಾಷ್ಟ್ರೀಯ ಮಹಿಳಾ ಆಯೋಗಗಳು ಮಹಿಳಾ ಸುರಕ್ಷತೆಯ ಬಗೆಗೆ ಕಾಗಿನಿರ್ವಹಿಸುತ್ತಿವೆ.ಮಹಿಳೆ ಆತ್ಮವಿಶ್ವಾಸವನ್ನು ವೃದ್ಧಿಸಿಕೊಂಡಾಗ ಹಕ್ಕುಗಳನ್ನು ಪಡೆಯಲು ಸಾಧ್ಯವಾಗುತ್ತದೆ. ಅನ್ಯೂನ್ಯತೆ ಪ್ರೀತಿ ವಿಶ್ವಾಸದಿಂದ, ಸಹಕಾರದ ಮನೋಭಾವದಿಂದ ಸಮಾಜದಲ್ಲಿ ಬದುಕಲು ಮಹಿಳೆ ಆದರ್ಶದ ಬದುಕು ನಡೆಸಲು ಸಾಧ್ಯ .ಮಹಿಳೆಯು ಸದೃಢ ಜೀವನ ನಡೆಸಿದಾಗ ಸಬಲೀಕರಣ ಸಶಕ್ತಿಕರಣ

Ujire, May 2024 — Staff members from SDME Society, Ujire, embarked on a novel initiative led by the honorable secretary, Sri Harshendra Kumar, aimed at fostering a deeper understanding of their sister institutions through the "Know Your Group Institutions" program. The initiative saw two batches of SDME employees visiting Mysore MMK and SDM College on May 13 and May 17, 2024.
On May 13, the first batch of visitors included senior HR from SDME Society, Mr. Ajay Kumar, co-coordinator Mr. Nishit, and 30 other members. They were warmly welcomed by the vice principal, Smt. Bharathi, and the office manager, Sri Yogesh Rao. The visitors toured the campuses of MMK and SDM College, gaining insights into the institutions' history, achievements, and facilities.
The second visit, which took place on May 17, was led by the in-charge of student welfare, Yuvaraja Poovani, alongside HR member Mr. Puneeth and co-coordinator Mr. Nishit. The SDME employees were greeted by the principal, Prof. Sainath Malligemadu, and Prof. Nayana Kumari, who provided an in-depth overview of SDMMMK’s development and the unique educational opportunities it offers, especially as it is dedicated exclusively to women's education.
Prof.Malligemadu emphasized the significance of SDM MMK in empowering women through education, highlighting its exclusive focus and various facilities designed to support female students. Yuvaraja Poovani expressed gratitude to the principal and other faculty members for their hospitality and informative session. The visit also included interactions with the office superintendent, Sri Yogesh Rao, who accompanied the guests throughout their tour.

A Home management guest lecture on "constitutional rights and women's harassment" was delivered by renowned lawyer Mr. Raghavendra A, Senior panel advocate, District Legal service Authority, District Court, Mysuru on 23rd May 2024. He explained the constitutional rights that exist for the robust life of women, the laws that prevent women's harassment, and the laws regarding the abuses experienced by working women. He discussed the Dowry Prohibition Act, laws preventing sexual harassment, women's employment rights, and laws preventing domestic violence. The event was attended by the committee's coordinators, B.N. Maruthi Prasanna, and members Mrs. Sandhya and Mrs. Kavya
Mysore, May 18, 2024 - MMK and SDM Mahavidyalaya, in partnership with the Student Welfare Committee, hosted a memorable annual day celebration featuring esteemed alumna Dr. M K Usha as the special guest. Dr. Usha, an accomplished physicist, graduated from MMK & SDM College for Women in 2007 and later earned top honors in her M.Sc. at the University of Mysore.
Dr. Usha's career includes notable achievements such as earning an INSPIRE Fellowship, participating in the prestigious HOPE meeting with Nobel Laureates in Japan, and presenting internationally. Currently, she is the Project Manager at Molecular Connection, Bangalore.
In a show of gratitude, Dr. Usha donated Rs. 20,000 to the "Alumni Vidya Nidhi Scholarship." She was felicitated by Principal Professor Sainatha Malligemadu, highlighting her contributions to Physics and education. On May 15, 2024, MMK and SDM Mahila Mahavidyalaya, Mysore, Student Welfare Committee in association with IQAC organized a valedictory program for the various departmental committees. The event celebrated the achievements of the committees which run under guidance of IQAC such as, Kannada Nudi Rathna, Mathletes, NSS, Tech Amateur IT Club, Department of Library, Commerce Club, Management Club, for the academic year 2023-24.

Book review competition was organized by the Department of Library at MMK SDM MMV on 14th May, 2024. The students went over the literature they had read in Hindi, Kannada, and English. A few of the novels that the students reviewed are Kiragulina Gayyaligalu, Dr. Sudha Murthy's Mahashwetha, Preeti Shenoy's Place Called Home, and Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam's Wings of Fire. The Ramayana, I am the Mind by Deep Trivedi, K P Poornachandra Tejaswi, and numerous more. Ten students took part in the competition. Smt. Brunda R, HoD of English Dept, Sri Maruthi Prasanna B. N, Assistant Professor, Department of Kannada, and Smt. Anitha P Jayaram, Assistant Professor, Department of Hindi, judged the competition.
A session on "Food and Nutrition, Prevention, Hygiene and cleanliness" was organized on May 14th, 2024, for students enrolled in the Home Management course. Dr. C. Anitha ,Assistant Professor, Department of Studies and Research in Food and Nutrition, Karnataka State Open University(KSOU) , Mysuru delivered this insightful session.
Dr. C. Anitha led an engaging discussion on food and nutrition that shed light on how our diet impacts our health. She explained how important it is to have a balanced diet, including the right mix of nutrients like carbs, proteins, fats, fiber, vitamins, and minerals, as well as staying hydrated. She also talked about how different people need different amounts of calories depending on their age and how active they are. Dr. C. Anitha highlighted the growing issue of obesity and discussed its causes, including genetics, diet, and lifestyle. One interesting topic was about peptides like obestatin and how they affect our appetite and metabolism. Dr. C. Anitha discussed how understanding these peptides could help in managing weight and related health problems. Overall, Dr. C. Anitha's session was informative and helped understand how nutrition, obesity, and our body's signals are all connected. It gave us hope for finding new ways to tackle weight issues and stay healthy.
The Department of Business Administration of MMK and SDM MMV, organizes Online Mock Tests for Final Year Students for exams like UPSC, KPSC, SSC, IBPS Banking, PGCET MBA & MCA. College computer labs host the simulated exams, providing invaluable practice for future careers. These mock tests enable students to gauge readiness and identify areas for improvement. Faculty express optimism, believing these initiatives will enhance student performance in competitive exams, equipping them with vital skills for success in the professional world". The programme was coordinated by Sri. Shivabeerappa M, HoD, Department of Business Administration. 70 final-year students from BBA, BCOM, and BCA benefited from the session by having their abilities evaluated and learn strategies for excelling in these exams.
In honor of Philosopher's Day, the Department of Sanskrit at MMK and SDM MMV hosted a guest lecture on May 13, 2024. Sri Harish Dixit, A Vedic scholar from Mysore, delivered a lecture on the topic"Insight into the subtle body according to Saundaryalahari of Shankaracharya". Session was presided over by Dr. Vinoda, HoD, Dept of Kannada. The session was organised by Mr. Srinivasa KL, HoD, Dept of Sanskrit. The program's results include A deeper comprehension of the subtle body and its importance. greater comprehension of the components of universal creation. a greater understanding of Kundalini yoga and its techniques. gratitude for the philosophical ideas covered in Saundaryalahari. The initiative helped forty-four students of various streams.

The Literary Committee of MMK and SDM MMV, in collaboration with Vivekananda Rock Memorial, Mysore, organized a Kannada examination competition on April 29, 2024. The event, centered around the theme “Yuva Chethana” (Youth Inspiration), aimed to provide a platform for holistic growth, cultural enrichment, and intellectual exploration among young minds. As part of this initiative, Vivekanand Kendra Mysore distributed the book “Prabhavashali Vyakthithva” (Impressive Personality) to the participating students.
The coordination of the examination was overseen by Smt. Hajra Begum, the Literary Committee Coordinator. The competition not only encouraged academic excellence but also embodied the spirit of Swami Vivekananda’s vision, inspiring the youth to become responsible and conscientious citizens of India. Through such initiatives, the Literary Committee and Vivekanand Kendra continue to contribute to the development of young minds and promote cultural awareness in the community.
An IQAC initiative Interdisciplinary Lecture on Banking was organized for Final year B Sc Biotechnology students (24), by the Department of Biotechnology, MMK and SDM MMV, Mysuru on 7 th May 2024. Prof Sainath Malligemadu, the Principal of MMK and SDM MMV, gave his moral support for the program.
The program coordinator was Dr. Shwetha S, HoD and Asst. Professor of Biotechnology Dept. The resource person was Mr. Prashanth Jain, HoD and Asst. Professor of Commerce Dept. The participants gained knowledge on the best banks in India, their broad range of services, including savings accounts, loans, investment products, and digital banking solutions. The students were created aware of how these organizations have effectively embraced innovation in an era marked by technological breakthroughs, providing cutting - edge solutions that meet the varied needs of a rapidly changing customer base.
A session on "Yoga and Meditation" was organized on May 04th, 2024, for students enrolled in the Home Management course at MMK and SDM MMV. Yoga Guru Dr. K. Ragavendra Pai, Secretary, Sri Vedavyasa Yoga Pratisthana, Mysore, took the lead in facilitating this insightful session.
The session began with a yogic prayer, setting a serene atmosphere. Dr. K. Ragavendra Pai then guided the students through various yoga postures and meditation techniques. Beginning with a comprehensive overview of the history of yoga, he elaborated on its myriad benefits. Highlighting yoga as a unique skill in practice, he elucidated on its diverse forms, including Bhakti Yoga, Jnana Yoga, Karma Yoga, Raja Yoga, and Hatha Yoga. Delving deeper, he explored Patanjali’s Ashtanga Yoga, delving into its ethical principles, methods of self-purification, Asanas, Pranayama, sensory control, concentration, meditation, and union with the cosmos. Dr. K. Ragavendra Pai also delved into the concept of the Pancha koshas, representing different dimensions of personality: Physical, Mental, Spiritual, Intellectual, and Emotional, offering insights into achieving holistic well-being (swaasthya).
An IQAC initiative Hands on Workshop on Fundamentals in Bioinformatics was organized for First year B Sc Life sciences students (22), as part of Bioinformatics Add on Course by the Department of Biotechnology, MMK and SDM MMV on 4 th May 2024.
The resource person was Dr.Aishwarya, founder of Devank Bio Science, Mysuru. The participants were guided thoroughly on sequencing, mapping and expression analysis of a genome and study of 3D structure, function and interaction of proteins.

ಸ್ಪರ್ಧೆಯ ಮೂರು ಸುತ್ತುಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಎಸ್ ಡಿ ಎಂ ಕಾಲೇಜಿನ ರೋಷಿನಿ, ರುಚಿತ, ಸಂಜನಾ, ಸಿಂಚನ ಬಿ ಎಲ್ ತಂಡಕ್ಕೆ 17 ಪಾಯಿಂಟ್ ತಂದು ಕೊಟ್ಟರು, ಈ ಮೂಲಕ ಕಾಲೇಜು ಅಗ್ರಸ್ಥಾನ ಪಡೆಯಿತು. ಕಾಲೇಜು ಆಡಳಿತ ಮಂಡಳಿ ಮತ್ತು ಸಿಬ್ಬಂದಿ ವಿಜೇತರನ್ನು ಹೃತ್ಪೂರ್ವಕವಾಗಿ ಅಭಿನಂದಿಸುತ್ತಾರೆ.
MMK & SDM College, Krishnamurthy puram celebrated National Technology day by organizing State level lecture series programmes on 3rd May 2024. Prof. Narasimha Kaulagud, Department of Electronics and Communication, NIE College, inaugurated the programme and delivered the keynote address. In his keynote address he said how Adaptive filters are essential in machine learning for tasks like noise reduction and pattern recognition and in various other domains such as image forgery detection and financial forecasting. He highlighted the role of quantum computing in the fields like cryptography, optimization , drug discovery and material science by solving certain problems much faster than classical computers.
Resource persons for the Sessions were Prof. Guruprasad P.S, Professor, Department of Mathematics, Government First Grade College, Chamarajanagar. Dr. Kiran K.U, Associate Professor and Head, Department of Electronics, Maharani’s Science College for Women, Mysore. Dr. Chandrashekar H.B, Scientific Officer, Forensic Science Laboratory, Police Department, Government of Karnataka, Bengaluru.
The programme was presided by the Principal Prof. Sainath Malligemadu. The principal in his Presidential remarks spoke about how technology has played a significant role in improving the quality of life in all walks of life and the exciting possibilities the Technology holds for the future. During the programme Smt. N. Bharathi, HOD of Physics & Electronics spoke about the significance of Technology day and welcomed the Gathering. Smt. Chaithra.N, HOD of Mathematics proposed vote of thanks. Programme was compered by Miss. Niharika.V.Jain, Assistant professor in the department of physics. The programme benefited 150 participants of UG & PG from various colleges.
