ವಿದೇಶ ವಿದ್ಯಾಭ್ಯಾಸ: ಕಾರ್ಯಾಗಾರ

ಮೈಸೂರಿನ ಎಂ. ಎಂ. ಕೆ. ಮತ್ತು ಎಸ್. ಡಿ. ಎಂ. ಮಹಿಳಾ ಕಾಲೇಜಿನಲ್ಲಿ, ದಿನಾಂಕ 22.09.2023 ರಂದು ಕರಿಯರ್ ಗೈಡೆನ್ಸ್ ಮತ್ತು ಪ್ಲೇಸ್ಮೆಂಟ್ ಸೆಲ್ ಮತ್ತು ALZATO ಓವರ್ಸೀಸ್ ಎಜುಕೇಶನ್ ಸಹಯೋಗದೊಂದಿಗೆ ಅಂತಿಮ ವರ್ಷದ ಪದವಿ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿನಿಯರಿಗೆ ಎಜುಕೇಶನ್ ಇನ್ ಅಬ್ರಾಡ್ ಎಂಬ ವಿಷಯದ ಕುರಿತು ಕಾರ್ಯಾಗಾರವನ್ನು ಆಯೋಜಿಸಲಾಗಿತ್ತು. ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮದಲ್ಲಿ ಕಾಲೇಜಿನ ಪ್ರಾಂಶುಪಾಲಾರದ ಪ್ರೊಫೆಸರ್ ಸಾಯಿನಾಥ್ ಮಲ್ಲಿಗೆಮಾಡು ರವರು ಅಧ್ಯಕ್ಷತೆವಹಿಸಿದ್ದರು, ಸಂಪನ್ಮೂಲ ವ್ಯಕ್ತಿಯಾದ ಸುದಿಂದ್ರ ಎಂ. ಆರ್. ರವರು ವಿದೇಶದಲ್ಲಿನ ಶೈಕ್ಷಣಿಕ ಅವಕಾಶಗಳ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ತಿಳಿಸಿಕೊಟ್ಟರು, ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮದಲ್ಲಿ ALZATO ಸಂಸ್ಥೆಯ ಬಿಸಿನೆಸ್ ಡೆವಲಪ್ಮೆಂಟ್ ಆಫೀಸರ್ ಮಾಲಿನಿ.ಕೆ., ಕಾಲೇಜಿನ ಐಕ್ಯೂಎಸಿ ಸಂಚಾಲಕರಾದ ಶ್ರೀಮತಿ ಸುಕೃತ, ಪ್ಲೇಸ್ಮೆಂಟ್ ಅಧಿಕಾರಿಯಾದ ಮಹದೇವಸ್ವಾಮಿ. ಎಸ್., ಶ್ರೀಮತಿ ರಮ್ಯಾ ಎಸ್. ಕೆ., ಪ್ಲೇಸ್ಮೆಂಟ್ ಸಮಿತಿಯ ಸದಸ್ಯರಾದ ಶ್ರೀಮತಿ ವಿದ್ಯಾ ಎಂ. ಆರ್., ದಿಲೀಪ್. ಎನ್., ಕಾವ್ಯಶ್ರೀ, ಮತ್ತು ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿನಿಯರು ಹಾಜರಿದ್ದರು.

NSS Marathon

On 06/09/2023, National Service Scheme Unit of University of Mysore conducted District level AIDS/ HIV Prevention Act - 2017 Awareness Program and Marathon from city center Kote Anjaneyaswamy temple to Oval ground through Devraj Urs Road. Four NSS Volunteers from MMK & SDM Mahila Mahavidyalaya, Mysore namely, Chandana CN(III  BBA), Kannika CM(III BSc),Deepika M(III BSc) and Meghana M(II BSc) have participated in this event to create a awareness regarding prevention of HIV/AIDS, promotion of related services and reduce stigma and discrimination  related to HIV/AIDS by participating in Marathon. Ms. Meghana M of 2nd BSc won the  consolation prize amount.

Hindi Day Celebration 

Hindi Day was celebrated by the Department of Hindi on 14th September 2023 in association with the Library department. Dr. Sarvesh Mourya, Associate Professor, RIE, Mysore was the Chief Guest for the programme. He delivered a Lecture on The Importance of Hindi Day and how Hindi plays its Role in Modern Days to the students. Principal, Prof. Sainath Malligemadu, Dr. N Pushpalatha, HoD of Hindi department and Smt. Padma B S, Librarian and Associate professor also graced the occasion. 

Election of office Bearers of Tech Amateur IT Club 

Office bearers election refers to the process of selecting individuals to hold positions of

authority or responsibility in an institution. This typically involves students of the institution for casting votes to elect individuals who will represent and make decisions on their behalf. In this regard, the Tech amateur IT Club of department of Computer Science conducted an election for the office bearers for the academic year 2023-24 on 26/09/2023. The elected office bearers include positions such as president, vice-president, secretary, joint secretary, treasurer. The election process usually includes nomination, campaigning, voting, and announcing the results. The election was conducted online.

Soft skills and Personality development program 

On 30th September 2023 Home Management course students had a session on Soft Skills and Personality led by Dr. Lancy Dsouza of Maharaja College, University of Mysore.


Dr. Dsouza's expertise in communication skills and personality development shone through as he passionately conveyed the significance of effective communication. Dr. Dsouza stressed how mastering communication skills is pivotal for success in today's competitive world. Students were enlightened about the various forms of communication, from verbal and non-verbal to written and digital. The session delved into the intricacies of interpersonal relationships.


Lastly, the session shed light on the art of time management. Dr. Dsouza highlighted how mastering time-saving techniques is instrumental in achieving one's goals and maintaining a balanced lifestyle. The session equipped the students with practical knowledge that will undoubtedly prove invaluable in their academic journeys and future careers. 

Intercollegiate Karnataka Classical Music Competition 

The 26th year of Smt. Lakshmi Nagaraju Memorial Endowment Intercollegiate Karnataka Classical Music Competition at MMK SDM MMV, Mysore was organized by Cultural Committee MMK SDM MMV, Mysore on September 27th, 2023 to emphasize the traditional music and honor the young talents in remembrance of Smt. Lakshmi Nagaraju, renowned classical singer. The Chief Guests of the Inaugural program was Professor Nagesh Bettakote, Hon'ble Vice-Chancellor of Karnataka State Dr. Gangubai Hangal Music and Performing Arts University and Vidhushi S. Rajalakshmi, Gaanabharathi respectively. The 22 students pursuing PU and UG of different colleges exhibited their talents in the program and Vidushi Smt. Thejaswini, Principal, Gaanabharathi, Mysore. Vidushi Smt Bhuvaneshwari, Sangeetha Kala Teacher, Mysore and Vidushi Smt Sharada, Founder, Gayathri Gaana Sudha Sangeetha School, Mysore were the judges of the event.

Smt. Nalini Shrikanta, family member of late Lakshmi Nagaraju was the Chief Guest of the Valedictory and Prize distribution program. Mr Amogh M Kashyap, College of Fine Arts Manasagangothri, Mysore won First prize with cash prize of Rs2000. Ananya N S, Gopalaswamy P U College won second prizeRs 1500. Sahana H S Gopalaswamy P U College won third prizeRs 1000.Shreya Shridhar, Sadvidya Semi residential college and Vanditha Yaji , MMK and SDM MMV College won consolation prizesRs 750 each 

All 22 participants received certificates. Prof SainathMalligemadu, president and PU College, principal Prof Nayanakumari was guest of honour.Prof Bharathi. N, Vice principal, Prof Sukrutha. K.S, IQAC Coordinator, and Cultural committee co-ordinator Dr.Vinodha,  and Smt Chaithra, were present.

Guest Lecture programme for NSS volunteers 

On 30th September 2023, a guest lecture program was organized by NSS Unit of MMK and SDM MMV, Mysore on the topic "Cultural Programs in NSS". At the beginning of the program Resource person Dr. Vinoda, Head of Dept Kannada, MMK&SDM MMV, was welcomed by Mrs. Anita P Jayaram, NSS Officer. 

Later the session was taken by the speaker and the program lecture was about various cultural activities in NSS, folk song, drama, Importance of cultural program, reaching people through the program and other topicz and the speaker interacted with students about NSS cultural programs & their participation and encouraged them  to participate in cultural programs. The NSS volunteers were the participants. 

World Heart Day celebration 

NSS unit of the college celebrated World Heart Day in association with Narayana Multi Specialty Hospital, Mysore by organising Walkathon at Kote Anjaneya Swami temple on 30th September 2023.

The program through walkathon at Kote Anjaneya Swami in the city at 6 am to create awareness among the public about heart health, lifestyle  and heart problems. The walkathon started from Kote Anjaneya Swamy Temple and passed through Devaraju Urs Road & Krishnaraja Hospital finished the walkathon at Kote Anjaneya Swamy Temple itself.  A total of 33 NSS volunteers of our college and Mrs. Anita P Jayaram NSS officer MMK and SDM MMV participated in this program 

NSS volunteers of MMK and SDM visit to Old Age Home 

NSS volunteers visited Belaku Vatsalya Dhama,Old Age Home, Srirampuram, Mysore. NSS volunteers visited Belaku old age home on 28.9.2023.

 Prof. Sainath Mallige Madu, principal, MMK & SDM MMV, Smt. Anita P Jayaram, NSS Officer,  Miss. Pratima, NSS cell member and several NSS volunteers visited Belaku vatsalya dhama,Old Age Home, Srirampuram, Mysore and donated Food items to the ashram and spent their precious time with the ashram residents. Mr. Pradeep, advocate, one of the  Trustee of the Ashram, shared the information about the Ashram.  At the same time Smt. Mangala, the Warden of the Ashram was also present 

Guest Lecture on Social Media awareness 

On 27 September 2023, a guest lecture program on the topic " social media awareness" was organized by NSS unit, MMK and SDM,MMV, Mysuru. The resource person Mr. Shivabeerappa, Assistant Professor, HoD, dept. of Business Administration, delivered a lecture on social media awareness and covered many topics like advantages, disadvantages, impact on young generation and their physical & mental health,  importance of moderate use of social media.  Mrs. Anita P Jayaram, NSS officer welcomed. NSS committee members and NSS volunteers were present.

Shramdan by NSS Unit

On 27 September 2023, NSS unit, MMK and SDM MMV organized Shramdan at Mysore Railway Junction. Sri Prashanth Jain, HOD Commerce Dept and ex NSS officer,MMK and SDM, MMV launched the drive.

 As a part of the SWACHHATHA ANDOLAN program NSS volunteers of the college shouted several slogans about "the prohibition of plastic use and awareness" from the college to the railway station. The program was successful by clearing plastic from railway junctions and  distributing cloth bags to the railway staff  & public to create awareness about plastic usage.  Smt. Anita P Jayaram NSS Officer, Smt. Hema NS, NSS Member, Ms. Pratima, NSS Member and many volunteers were present 

Guest Lecture Program by NSS Unit 

On 26/09/2023, a Guest Lecture Programme was held to all the NSS Volunteers by Sri. Maruthi Prasanna BK, Assistant Professor, Dept of Kannada, MMK & SDM MMv, Mysore. Guest Lecture Programme was on the topic "NSS SAPTHAHA & SWACHHATA SEVA ABHIYAN ''. The programme was initiated by prayer followed by welcoming the Resource Person by Smt. Anitha P Jayaram, NSS coordinator and Assistant professor, Dept of Hindi. The lecture programme covered many topics like NSS song, aim of NSS, history, responsibilities of NSS volunteers, rules and regulations, Discipline and so on 

Extension Activity by Department of Physics

On September 26, 2023, 50 enthusiastic class 10 students from Karnataka Public School, Kuvempunagar participated in an engaging extension activity led by Ms. Niharika V Jain, Assistant Professor in Physics, and Smt. Hema N S, Assistant Professor in Electronics. The primary objective of this activity was to ignite the students' curiosity and interest in the fields of Physics and Electronics through hands-on demonstrations of simple experiments. By showcasing practical applications and fundamental concepts, the activity aimed to enhance their understanding and inspire a passion for these subjects. The outcome was a heightened enthusiasm for science and technology, as students gained a deeper appreciation for the principles governing these disciplines, setting them on a path towards future exploration and learning.

Home Management session on "First Aid"

A session on "First Aid, Home Nursing Prevention - Remedies" was conducted on September 23rd, 2023, for students enrolled in Home Management course. This informative session was aimed to educate students on first-aid techniques and home nursing practices. 

Dr. Pushpalatha, Principal and Senior NSS officer at Govt. Nursing College MMC & RI, Mysore, served as the distinguished resource person for the event. With her expertise, she provided valuable guidance to the attendees on how to respond during emergencies such as road accidents, cuts, and choking incidents. She demonstrated these life-saving techniques, allowing students to witness practical applications firsthand. 

The session empowered students with valuable knowledge and practical skills, ensuring their preparedness to respond effectively to emergencies in various home and community settings. The students, comprising 98 individuals from III B.Sc. and III BCA, were actively engaged and benefitted by the session 

NSS Day Celebration by planting saplings

MMK and SDM MMV, Mysuru, observed the NSS day on 24/09/2023 by cleaning and planting saplings at Seth Mohan Tulsidas  Mother and Child hospital premises. NSS adopted this hospital for maintaining gardens and making a campus.

The program was inaugurated by doctors and staff of the hospital by planting and watering the saplings. NSS Volunteers cleaned the hospital premises and 25 saplings were planted. Smt. K S Sukrutha, IQAC coordinator, HOD and Associate professor of Computer Science department, Smt. Jyothi Lakshmi G Kava, student welfare officer and Assistant professor of Computer Science department, Smt. Anita P Jayaram, NSS officer and Assistant professor of Hindi department, other NSS members and NSS Volunteers were present. The initiative was a grand success.

NSS Inauguration and Orientation Program at MMK and SDM MMV 

MMK & SDM Mahila Mahavidyalaya, NSS Unit organized inauguration and orientation programme on 25th Sept 2023 for all UG NSS volunteers. Session began with a prayer and NSS theme song. The dignitaries formally inaugurated the program by lighting the lamp. Principal Prof. Sainath Malligemadu welcomed and felicitated the chief guest Dr. B. Chandrashekar, professor  & chairperson, Dept of Studies in  Geography also co-ordinator of NSS training centre, Manasa Gangotri, University of Mysore.

Anitha P Jayaram, NSS Coordinator initiated the program by  taking a NSS oath along with NSS Volunteers. Dr. B Chandrashekar took over the session with excellent use of his experience. He spoke about Nation Building, Personality development, service towards nation, importance of team work, goal setting, empowerment of women and so on to the NSS volunteers.   The program was presided by Prof. Sainath Malligemadu, Principal, MMK & SDM MMV. He addressed the NSS volunteers and enlightened them with his experience in NSS Journey. He also explained topics like discipline, understanding and adopting NSS for personality development, responsibility of NSS volunteers. Also informed  that the best volunteers will be awarded university level to national level like Indira Gandhi awards.


Wall magazine inauguration 

A vibrant and engaging Wall Magazine Inauguration was done here at MMK & SDM MMV, organized by the Literary Committee, on 25th September 2023.

Our Chief Guest, Prof. Sainath Malligemadu, Principal, MMK & SDM MMV inaugurated the wall magazines of all the Departments and encouraged the students with his words of genuine enthusiasm and appreciation. Smt. Bhogeshwari D, coordinator of the Literary Committee was present on the occasion, accompanying our Chief Guest through all the Departments.

The initiative by the Literary Committee aimed at promoting literary and artistic expression among our students. All the Departments came up with innovative ideas to deck up their wall magazines and it proved to be an amazing platform for the students to display their talents by working on a wide variety of topics of their interest. The endeavor featured a captivating visual display and aided in adding new colors and curiosity-invoking walks along the corridors.

The Literary Committee at MMK & SDM MMV, seeks to enrich the intellectual, cultural and creative facets of our students. Encouraging creative expression is a cornerstone of the Committee’s mission and we aspire to be a wellspring of intellectual enrichment, fostering critical thinking and having meaningful discourses.

Guest Lecture: Banking industry: Valuable insights and strategies for success 

On 26th September, 2023 Department of Business Administration organised a Guest Lecture on " Banking Industry: Valuable Insights and Strategies for Success for BBA students. 

The Guest Speaker Sri.Amith Kumar S Assistant General Manager of IDBI Bank, Indiranagar Branch Bangalore had an interactive discussion about how technology is the driving force in every industry. Banking is not behind in embarrassing technology and is into the mode of digital transformation and banks have changed in their operations and moved towards universal banking along with the increase in the usage of technology and technological based services. 

The session was presided by Prof.Sainath Malligemadu Principal and

Sri. Shivabeerappa HOD of Business Administration Dept,Sri.Nirantha M R, Smt. Vidya M R and Smt. Bhogeshwari D were present.

MMK and SDM institutions Celebrate Ganesha Chaturthi 

Both PU and Degree college's students, faculty, and staff observed Ganesha Chaturthi on September 21, 2023 by worshipping Lord Ganesha idol in the college premises. The goal of the event was to bring everyone together and promote happiness, satisfaction, and positivism. Principal Prof. Sainath Malligemadu organizes such functions and events in the college so as to preserve and promote Indian tradition, cultures and values among the youth. The pooja rituals began at 9.30am when the idol of Lord Ganesha was venerated by all the members. The Lord was offered prayers and invocations, followed by Gana Homa to bring positivity and the Prasada was distributed among all the members. Prof Nayana Kumari, principal  and other staff members of PU College were present.

YOUTHOTSAVA by Red FM 93.5 

The YOUTHOTSAVA - “THE CELEBRATION OF YOUNG TALENTS” at MMK SDM MMV, Mysore was organised by Red FM 93.5, Sun group and Forefront health care pvt ltd in association with Cultural Committee MMK SDM MMV, Mysore on September 9th 2023 to recognise and honour the hidden talents among youth. 

The 36 students from all the streams displayed their talents in the program and Prof. Bharathi N, Vice principal,SDM Mysore, Smt. Brunda R HOD, Assistant Professor Dept. of  English and Prathima M, Assistant Professor Dept. of  Commerce, were the judges to this program. 

Vanditha, II B Com ‘B’ and Lourd Kournikova, III B Sc BtM won the Best performance in singing. Likitha and team III B.Com ‘A’ won the Best performance in Free style dance. Keerthana Dhanya, II B Com ‘B’ won the Best performance in Mono Acting. Bhanupriya and Aishwarya, II BBA won the Best performance in yoga. Gagana and team III B Com ‘B’ won the Best performance in mad ads. 

All 36 participants received certificates and prizes were distributed for the best performances from Red FM 93.5 and cosponsors.

Prof Sainath Malligemadu, Principal congratulated the students for taking the opportunities to participate in this unique program. At the same time thanked Red FM and RJ Rashmi for selecting our college for inaugurating Youthousava.The Cultural committee coordinator was Dr.Vinodha, Associate Professor and HoD of Kannada Dept .

The RJs namely RJ Rashmi, RJ Sunil, RJ Deepak and RJ Puneeth; Raghav B V and team, Station Incharge Mysore from Red FM 93.5 were presented and conducted the event with exuberance.

Guest Lecture Programme 

On 23/09/2023 Department of Computer Science had organized a Guest Lecture Programme on Cloud Computing for final year BCA and BSc  by  Mrs Vidya Rao, Senior Principal Consultant, Education Training & Assessment Unit, Infosys Ltd., Mysore at College Auditorium. Prof. Sainath Malligemadu presided over the program and he encouraged the students to learn about Cloud Computing technology which is the need of the hour.. The session was very interesting and interactive. Students gained basic understanding of Cloud Computing, its benefits, services (through tools) and deployment models through the session. All staff members of the department were present on the occasion. A total o f 109 BSc and BCA students benefited from this programme. 

Fresher’s day 2023-24 Celebration “BIENVENIDA TYROS” 

The Fresher’s Day for first year students of the college was organized by the student welfare committee to extend a kind welcome for newcomers and to enhance the feeling of community. The fresher’s day celebration began with the formal function during which Prof. Sainath Malligemadu, Principal, MMK and SDM MMV, addressed the students about the rules and regulations of the college. Also, he insisted students to be involved in the college activities such as academic curriculum and extracurricular activities. 

After the formal function cultural programmes and Miss Fresher event was organized. Smt. Brunda R, HOD, Assistant Professor, Department of English, Ms. Sowmya N, Assistant Professor, Department of Computer Science, Ms. Kavyashree, Assistant Professor, Department of Commerce were in the judging panel for the event. Ms. Shreya N of I B.Com ‘A’ was selected as Miss Fresher SDM 2023-24. First Runner Up - Hitha Bopanna - I BBA, Second Runner Up-Madumitha – I BCA ‘A’, Best Costume- Rachana of I BCA and Nirma V of I B.Sc, Best Talent- Chaitra R- I BmBt were announced as winners of the fresher’s day.

During the event Prof. Nayanakumari, Principal, SDM Girl’s PU College, Prof. Bharathi N, Vice Principal, HOD and Associate Professor of Physics department, Smt. K S Sukrutha, IQAC Coordinator, HOD and Associate Professor, Department of Computer Science, Smt. Jyothilakshmi G Kava, Student Welfare Officer and Assistant professor of computer science department, members of student welfare committee, teaching staff and students were present.

Alumni Faculty Programme 

23/09/2023 - Department of Computer Science had organized Alumni Faculty Programme for Final year BCA and B Sc Students on the topic Cyber Security by alumnus Mrs. Swetha Maheshwari, Principal Consultant, Education Training & Assessment Unit, Infosys Ltd. Mysore and also the present Alumni Association President (1998-2001 batch B Sc passed out) 

Prof. Sainath Malligemadu presided over the function and expressed his keen interest in establishing an MOU with Infosys Spring Board which is beneficial to the staff and students to enhance their knowledge. Students were able to understand the fundamentals of cyber security concepts and its issues, awareness on cybercrimes, protecting and defending computer systems and networks from cybersecurity attacks with real life examples. All staff members of the department were present on the occasion. A total of 109 students benefited from this program.

Guest Lecture Program on Cyber security

On 16/9/2023, a Guest Lecture Programme on Cyber Security was organized for II BCA students by the ICT Committee. Resource Person Mr. Siva Gopal, Technical Trainer, ICT Academy, Chennai, gave an insight of importance of cyber security, types of cyber-attacks and security measures for threats. A total of 51 students participated in this event. 

Discussion on Establishing a CINT at MMK and SDM Mahila Mahavidyalaya 

On 22nd September, 2023, a meeting was held between the college authorities headed by the Principal and Dr. A Phani Ratna, Founder and Director of NanoRAM Technologies and Centre for Innovative Nanoengineered Technologies.The outcomes and benefits of the nine modules for Academics offered through CINT which included internship, industrial meet, research funding (National & International), R&D outsource, Process Development, Workshops, Incubation and Entrepreneurship were presented.The proposal was welcomed by the Principal and staff members byfixing the date of exchange of MOU between MMK & SDM MMV and CINT to be on the 06th of October, 2023.Products developed by his industry were given as gift to the Principal. 

Home Management for Happy Living - 'Family Values - Value Education' 

A session on family values and Value Education was conducted for students of Home Management for the Happy Living Certificate course on 16th September 2023.

Dr.Jyothi Shankar, Assistant Professor , Department of Kannada, Studies and research KSOU Mysore, was the Resource person for this session.

As a sign of our Culture, Prof.Bharathi N, Vice Principal, Head, Department of Physics and Electronics and other members of the Home Management Committee gave 'Bagina' to the Chief Guest as a mark of respect.   

Sri. B N Maruthi Prasanna, Coordinator, Home Management also graced the session.

The students of III B.Sc. and III BCA were the beneficiaries who were 97 in number and they got to know how important is their family and how to respect their family.


Inauguration of Home Management for Happy Living

MMK & SDM MMV, has developed a certificate course of 32 hours named Home Management for Happy Living. The President of the college has directed the college to impart various types of education which has not been given in the regular degree course, but it is quite important for leading a Home Management for Happy Living purpose. This Certificate course has been formulated by incorporating  topics on sociocultural, economic and legal aspects. Thus making them a full fledged lady who can manage the household. 

The course for the year 2023-24 was inaugurated by pouring 'Raagi' into a pot by the Dignitaries on 9th September 2023.The President of the function Prof.Sainath Malligemadu, Principal of the college had explained the idea behind the course and various aspects of the home management skills to the students.

The first session was conducted by Dr.Vinoda, Associate Professor and Head, Department of Kannada, MMK & SDM MMV has delivered a lecture on the subject of Awareness on Culture and its importance. Sri. B N Maruthi Prasanna, Coordinator, Home Management also graced the occasion. 

The students of III B.Sc and III BCA were the beneficiaries who were 104 in number and they got to know how important our cultures are for today's generation.

ತನ್ನ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಕ್ಷೇತ್ರಗಳಲ್ಲೂ ಮನುಷ್ಯನ ಆತ್ಮೋನ್ನತಿಯನ್ನೇ ಧ್ಯೇಯವಾಗಿಸಿಕೊಂಡ ಭಾಷೆ ಸಂಸ್ಕೃತ ವಿದುಷಿ ಡಾ। ವಿಜಯಲಕ್ಷ್ಮಿ ಸರ್ಕಾರಿ ಮಹಾರಾಜ ಸಂಸ್ಕೃತ ಕಾಲೇಜು ಪ್ರಾಧ್ಯಾಪಕಿ ಸಂಸ್ಕೃತೋತ್ಸವ

ಭಾರತೀಯರ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಆಚರಣೆಗಳಿಗೂ ಸಂಸ್ಕೃತ ಸಾಹಿತ್ಯವೇ ಮೂಲವಸ್ತು. ಅದು ತನ್ನ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಕ್ಷೇತ್ರಗಳಲ್ಲಿಯೂ ಮನುಷ್ಯನ ಆತ್ಮೋನ್ನತಿಯನ್ನೇ ಗುರಿಯಾಗಿಸಿಕೊಂಡಿದೆ ಎಂದು ಸರ್ಕಾರಿ ಮಹಾರಾಜ ಸಂಸ್ಕೃತ ಕಾಲೇಜಿನ ಪ್ರಾಧ್ಯಾಪಕಿ ವಿದುಷಿ ಡಾ। ವಿಜಯಲಕ್ಷ್ಮಿ ಹೇಳಿದರು.  ನಗರದ ಎಮ್ ಎಮ್ ಕೆ ಮತ್ತು ಎಸ್ ಡಿ ಎಂ ಮಹಿಳಾ ಮಹಾವಿದ್ಯಾಲಯದ ಸಂಸ್ಕೃತ ವಿಭಾಗವು ದಿ. 21 ಗುರುವಾರದಂದು ಆಯೋಜಿಸಿದ್ದ ಸಂಸ್ಕೃತೋತ್ಸವ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮವನ್ನು ಉದ್ಘಾಟಿಸಿ ಶ್ರಾವಣಮಾಸ ಮತ್ತು ಸಂಸ್ಕೃತೋತ್ಸವದ ಸಂಬಂಧ ಕುರಿತು ವಿಶೇಷ ಉಪನ್ಯಾಸ  ನೀಡಿದ ಅವರು ಸಂಸ್ಕೃತ ಸಾಹಿತ್ಯಕ್ಕೆ ಋಷಿಮುನಿಗಳ ಕೊಡುಗೆ ಅಪಾರವಿದ್ದು ತನ್ಮೂಲಕ ರೂಪುಗೊಂಡ ಭಾರತೀಯ ಸಂಸ್ಕೃತಿಗೆ ಜಗತ್ತಿನಲ್ಲೇ ಅತ್ಯಂತ ಶ್ರೇಷ್ಠವಾಗಿದೆ ಮತ್ತು ಸರ್ವರಿಗೂ ಅನುಸರಣೀಯವಾಗಿದೆ  ಎಂದರು. ಜಗತ್ತಿನ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಭಾಷೆಗಳಿಗೂ ಮಾತೃ ಸ್ಥಾನದಲ್ಲಿರುವ ಸಂಸ್ಕೃತವನ್ನು ಅಭ್ಯಸಿಸಿದರೆ ಇತರ ಭಾಷೆಗಳ ಗ್ರಹಿಕೆ ಸುಲಭವಾಗುವುದರಲ್ಲಿ ಸಂಶಯವಿಲ್ಲ ಎಂದು ಅವರು ಹೇಳಿದರು. ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮದ ಅಧ್ಯಕ್ಷತೆ ವಹಿಸಿದ ಕಾಲೇಜಿನ ಪ್ರಾಂಶುಪಾಲರಾದ ಪ್ರೊ. ಸಾಯಿನಾಥ ಮಲ್ಲಿಗೆಮಾಡು ಅವರು ವಿನಯವನ್ನು ಮೈಗೂಡಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವ ನಿಟ್ಟಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಸಂಸ್ಕೃತದ ಅಧ್ಯಯನ ಅತ್ಯಂತ ಅವಶ್ಯ ಎಂದು ಅಭಿಪ್ರಾಯ ಪಟ್ಟರು. ಸಂಸ್ಕೃತ ವಿಭಾಗದ ಮುಖ್ಯಸ್ಥರಾದ ಶ್ರೀನಿವಾಸ ಕಾರಂತರು ವೇದಿಕಯಲ್ಲಿ ಉಪಸ್ಥಿತರಿದ್ದರು. ಸಂಸ್ಕೃತಕ್ಕೆ ಸಂಬಂಧಿಸಿದಂತೆ ಪುಸ್ತಕಪ್ರದರ್ಶನ ಮತ್ತು ಚಿತ್ರಪಟಪ್ರದರ್ಶನ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿನಿಯರ ಭಾಷಣ ಗೀತಗಾಯನ ಗಳಿಂದ ಕೂಡಿದ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮದಲ್ಲಿ, ಕು.ಚಿಂತನಾ ಸ್ವಾಗತಿಸಿದರು ಕು.ಐಶ್ವರ್ಯ ವಂದಿಸಿದರು ಮತ್ತು ಕು.ಪ್ರಜ್ಞಾ ನಿರೂಪಿಸಿದರು.


Drug Abuse Prevention Day

MMK & SDM MMV’s Legal literacy committee in association with District Legal Services Authority, Mysore organized Drug Abuse Prevention Day on 21st September, 2023.

In a concerted effort to address the pressing issue of substance abuse, Honorable Senior Civil Judge Sri Dinesh B G, spearheaded a comprehensive Drug Awareness Program on 21/09/2023. The program, held at MMK & SDM MMV, aimed to raise awareness about the dangers of drug abuse and promote a healthier, drug-free lifestyle among different stakeholders. The Drug Awareness Program, brought together an array of stakeholders, including law enforcement agencies, healthcare professionals, educators, community leaders, and concerned citizens, to address the multifaceted challenges posed by substance abuse. Sri Dinesh shared insights gleaned from their extensive legal experience, highlighting the legal consequences of drug-related offenses and the importance of rehabilitation and support for those affected.

Smt Geetha H J, Panel Advocate, DLSA, Mysore, featured the sessions by covering wide range of topics such as Understanding Addiction and shedding light on the physiological and psychological aspects of drug dependency. Prevention and early intervention in adolescents and discussed preventive measures for parents and educators.

Prof Sainath Malligemadu, Principal, MMK & SDM MMV who gave the presidential remarks encouraged an open dialogue among participants, fostering an environment where attendees felt comfortable sharing their concerns and experiences related to drug abuse. Citing an example on what are the ill effects of Drug consumption where it requires a concentrated effort to forgo with the addiction and overcome them. Through awareness, education, and community engagement, we can empower individuals to make informed decisions and provide support for those in need."

International year of millets 

To observe and create awareness about 2023 being the ‘International year of millets’, a unique program-‘Cooking without fire’ was organized by the Biochemistry Department of MMK & SDM Mahila Maha Vidyalaya, Mysore exclusively for PU students of Mysore District on 15/09/2023. A pre-requisite for the competition was to use millets as one of the ingredients.  The students came with pre-cooked millets and participated in the competition by preparing various dishes.

Dr Shobha Rani P, M.D of Genespy research services and Founder of Eatnutri Company was the Chief Guest and one of the Judges for the event. Smt Anupama Bevkal, Youtuber and food blogger was the other judge. Prof. Sainath Malligemadu, Principal of the college presided over the function and Prof. Nayanakumari, Principal of MMK & SDM PU College was the guest of honour.

Prof Sainath Malligemadu in his speech mentioned that the SDM educational society under the leadership of Poojya Dr. Veerendra Heggade has always taken a keen interest in promoting the use of millets by the general public. He also informed that Sri Kshetra Dharmasthala has an organization called SIRI that exclusively focuses on promoting various millet products. He pointed out that this event is an effort to take forward the message given by the United Nations on the advice of Government of India that the year 2023 will be observed as International Year of Millets

Smt Sukrutha K S, IQAC Coordinator, Dr Wethroe Kapfo, Coordinator of the event and HOD of the department of Biochemistry, Dr Chaitanya Pandit, Co-coordinator of the event and Assistant professor of the department of Biochemistry were present during the function

A total of 29 teams consisting of 69 participants from 10 different PU colleges in Mysore city participated in the competition.  Harshitha M and Aishwarya S of Norte Dam P U College won the first prize with a cash award of 3000 rupees. Pranav Jain, Karthik Yadav, Maruth from Marimallappa PU college won the second prize with a cash prize of 2000 rupees and  Shrimayi and Harshitha from JSS PU college for women won the third prize with a cash award of 1000 rupees. Varshini S, Manya, Chaitra, Apeksha and Harshada from Pramathi PU College won the consolation prizes where each team won a cash prize of 500 rupees. All the students received certificate of participation


Industry Visit to BEML Limited 

Department of Business Adminstration (BBA) organised Industrial Visit to BEML Limited on 16th September, 2023 for Final Year BBA students(55 students) along with students two faculty members Sri. Niranth M R and Smt. Vidya M R, Assistant Professors of BBA department accompanied. 

 Outcome of the Industrial Visit: 

The students were able to understand the importance of public sector and it's major in developing the country as whole. The type of earth movers in BEML which gives an immense support to various sectors of the country which is moving towards a self reliant India. 

The students have gained immense amount knowledge by understanding the importance of BEML.

International Micoorganisms Day

International Micoorganisms Day was celebrated  by Microbiology Department in collaboration with Library Department.students of III and I years presented the chart and explained microorganisms culture in peteriplates exposed to air. Also focussed some microorganisms under Microscope

Celebration of International Day of Democracy at MMK & SDM MMV

As per the guidelines of the Social Welfare Department, Karnataka Government, the college has participated in the International Day of Democracy on15th of September. All the students have taken a reading of the preamble at 10AM in their respective classes as readout by the teachers. To mark this day as a special occasion, we have invited a renowned senior advocate and social activist, Advocate Smt Smitha Devaiah. She has explained the importance of the preamble to the volunteers of NSS and student leaders. The function was presided by the college principal Prof. Sainath Malligemadu, opined that "The preamble is a timeless reminder of our shared vision for a justice, equitable and democratic India". He gave a call to carry the preamble's principle with us, not just today but every day, and we strived to build a better nation and a brighter future for our generations to come. Smt. Jyothi Lakshmi G Kava, Coordinator, Student Welfare Committee, Smt. Anitha P Jayaram, Coordinator, NSS wing, Smt K S Sukrutha, IQAC coordinator also graced the occasion. 

FDP in association with ICT academy

The five days FDP on PALO ALTO NETWORK SECURITY FUNDAMENTALS was organized by the department of Computer Science in association with ICT Academy, Mysore. The Palo Alto company as a part of its CSR programme sponsored this 5 days FDP and sent a resource person, Mr. Siva Gopal,Technical trainer to provide additional knowledge and deeper insights about Network Security Concepts. 

The programme was inaugurated on 12/9/2023 by Prof.Sainath Malligemadu, Principal. During the inaugural function the Resource Person Mr.Siva Gopal, Technical Trainer, ICT Academy, Mr. Prajwal Vasista, Relationship Manager, ICT Academy, Smt.K.S.Sukrutha, HOD of Computer Science & IQAC Coordinator and Smt.Ramya S K, ICT Committee Coordinator , participants, teaching and non-teaching staff members of the College were present.   

There were 24 participants for the 5 days FDP from various colleges of Mysore City and the FDP covered topics such as the OSI Model, several protocols, network devices, functionalities of network devices such as Host, Hub, Switch, Router, Bridge, Gateway etc. In addition to theoretical concepts, participants had hands-on experience during the FDP which consisted of 6 modules designed by PALO ALTO COMPANY for the better understanding of Network Security Concepts.

Democratically elected students' council for 2023-24 

On 9/9/2023 – Election of Office Bearers was conducted for the class representatives of BCA, BCom, BBA and BSc. The principal, Prof. Sainath Malligemadu, congratulated all of the class representatives and expressed his best wishes for the candidates in the office bearer election, stating that taking on leadership responsibilities provides the best opportunities for young individuals to grow up to be self-assured, intelligent, and prepared for any future challenges. Student Welfare Officer Smt. Jyothilakshmi G Kava described the election process. Class Representative Election 

On 8.9.2023- Mentor Mentee Interaction followed by Class Representatives Election was conducted in alloted classrooms for all BSC, BCA, BBA and BCOM UG Programs. Mentors briefed about the role of a Class representative. 

Teacher's day celebration 

The MMK & SDM Mahila Maha Vidyalaya celebrated Teacher's Day on September 5th 2023. The college's students took this opportunity to thank and appreciate their instructors. The fact that the entire program was put together by students was the event's most notable aspect. The principal, Prof. Sainath Malligemadu, gave a succinct address outlining the significance of the day. Vice Principal Prof. Bharathi N, IQAC Coordinator Smt. K Sukrutha, and Student Welfare Officer Smt. Jyothilakshmi G Kava also attended and graced the event. Also students arranged the "Teacher's Museum" displaying photos gallery of instructors, and included stage performances, entertaining games for the staff.
