The Computer Literacy Programme, conducted by the Department of Computer Science in February 2025, aimed to bridge the digital gap for underprivileged rural students. Led by faculty coordinators, the initiative benefitted 467 students from government primary and higher primary schools. The program focused on equipping participants with fundamental computer skills, including basic operations, online transactions, and essential software tools like Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. By promoting digital inclusion, the initiative sought to enhance learning, build confidence, and prepare students for a technology-driven future.
Final-year BCA students played a crucial role in delivering hands-on training sessions at rural schools, using both personal and school computers under faculty supervision. Beyond technical instruction, the programme fostered intellectual and social growth, encouraging problem-solving, ethical digital practices, and effective communication. This effort not only empowered young learners but also provided college students with real-world teaching experience, making a lasting impact on the digital literacy of underserved communities.
Ms. Rachana and Ms. Chinthana, III BCA students of MMK and SDM Mahila Mahavidyalaya, secured second place in the Viso-Web Challenge event at Vidwath 2025, a state-level intercollegiate fest held on February 28th and March 1st, 2025, organized by Vidyavardhaka First Grade College, Mysuru. Prof. Bharathi N, Principal, along with Smt. K. S. Sukrutha, Head of the Department of Computer Science, and the department's staff members, extend their heartfelt congratulations to the winners.
The IQAC initiative organized counselling sessions titled “My Life is 100% my responsibility” for final year students at MMK and SDM MMV, Mysuru. The sessions were conducted on 24th February 2025 for III B Com and III BBA students, and on 27th February 2025 for III yr B.Sc and BCA students, under the guidance of Smt Jyothi Lakshmi G Kava, Student Welfare Officer. The presidential address by Prof. Bharathi N, Principal, emphasized the importance of adaptability, involvement in activities beyond academics, and teamwork. Smt. B.L. Vedhapradha Manjunath, a psychological counsellor from L. H. Powerful Minds, Mysore, discussed qualities such as strength enhancement, understanding self-potential, decision-making, spiritual well-being, and character molding. Additionally, Smt. Shambhavi M R and Smt. Pushpanayak, counsellors from L. H. Powerful Minds, Mysore, explained the five states of health and strategies for mental well-being. The program aided students in overcoming behavioral problems, improving time management and organizational skills, establishing academic goals, resolving interpersonal issues, and enhancing communication and interpersonal skills. It also fostered greater self-acceptance and self-esteem, encouraged the change of self-defeating behaviors, improved emotional expression and management, and provided relief from depression, anxiety, and other mental health conditions.

Ms. Lavanya from II BCA and Ms. Shreejitha from II BSc, representing MMK and SDM Mahila Mahavidyalaya, achieved an impressive third prize at the AIthon competition held by Sheshadripuram College on the 7th and 8th of February, 2025. AIthon is an annual event that brings together some of the brightest minds in the field of artificial intelligence to showcase their innovative projects. Students' success highlights the high caliber of talent and dedication at MMK and SDM Mahila Mahavidyalaya, making it a proud moment for their institution.
On the 28th of February 2025, 36 enthusiastic Youth Red Cross volunteers from MMK and SDM Mahila Mahavidyalaya participated in a vital Legal Awareness Program on Child Marriage and the POCSO Act. The program aimed to educate and sensitize the young volunteers about the legal frameworks protecting children and adolescents from exploitation and abuse.
Mr. Dinesh B.G, Member Secretary of the District Legal Services Authority, Mysore, served as the keynote speaker. His insightful address provided the participants with a comprehensive understanding of the legal provisions and the importance of the POCSO Act in safeguarding children. Additionally, Mr. Syed Sadath, Youth Red Cross Coordinator, was present to support and guide the volunteers.
The program was an eye-opening experience for the volunteers, emphasizing the critical role they can play in raising awareness and advocating for the rights and protection of children. It highlighted the importance of being informed and proactive in combating social issues like child marriage and abuse, ensuring a safer and more just society for future generations.
Mrs. Atiya Sameen MP, Head of the Department of Microbiology, organized an enlightening workshop on "Andrology" at the International Academy of Reproductive Sciences (IARS) for III B.Sc Life Science students. The workshop aimed to provide students with in-depth knowledge and practical exposure to the medical specialty of andrology, which focuses on male health, particularly relating to the male reproductive system and urological issues unique to men.
Dr. Yogitha, Director at IARS, commenced the workshop with an informative orientation session, introducing the students to the fundamental concepts and importance of andrology. Following this, Mr. Deepak, Assistant Professor at IARS, led the hands-on workshop, allowing students to gain practical experience and deeper insights into the field.
On the 28th of February 2025, the Youth Red Cross unit of MMK and SDM Mahila Mahavidyalaya organized a visit to blind government school. The primary objective of this visit was to help students understand the power of empathy, integration, and empowerment, especially towards a remarkable section of society who live their lives with immense self-confidence, dignity, and self-control.
The blind individuals at the school were fully focused on their respective tasks and were genuinely touched by the presence of the visiting students, who engaged with them and asked insightful questions. The interaction provided a unique learning experience for the students, highlighting the strength and determination of those who navigate life without sight.
Mr. Satish, Head of the School, and Mr. Syed Sadath, Youth Red Cross Coordinator, along with 36 enthusiastic students, participated in the visit.
The Ramakrishna Institute of Moral and Spiritual Education (RIMSE), Mysuru, in association with the English Club Ink & Insights, Department of English, MMK and SDM Mahila Mahavidyalaya organized a one-day capacity-building workshop on 24th February 2025. The workshop aimed at equipping students with essential skills for personal and professional growth.
The program included Guided Meditation: A session to enhance focus and mindfulness; Session 1: Employable Skills and Leadership Qualities – Focusing on key competencies for the job market; Session 2: Confidence Building and Goal Setting – Helping students develop self-assurance and clarity in their aspirations; Session 3: Career Building – Providing guidance on career planning and professional development.
A total of 125 students participated in the workshop, accompanied by the faculty members of the Department of English. The workshop provided a valuable learning experience, empowering students with practical skills and motivation.
On the 22nd of February 2025, the Oval Ground in Mysuru buzzed with energy and excitement as MMK and SDM Mahila Mahavidyalaya held its Annual Sports Meet. The prestigious event witnessed Mr. Nagaraj, Star of India Awardee in Tennis, as the esteemed chief guest. Prof. N Bharathi, the principal of the college, presided over the program, gracing the occasion with her esteemed presence.
The inauguration ceremony was marked by the presence of several distinguished guests, including Smt. Maheshwari Shweta, the Alumni President; Sri. Mahadevappa H M, the Parent Teacher Association President; Smt. Jyoti Lakshmi G Kava, the Student Welfare Officer; and Smt. Nayana Kumari, the P U Principal. Their presence added to the significance and grandeur of the event.
The sports meet saw enthusiastic participation from students, staff, and alumni of the college. On 21/02/25, the Entrepreneurship hub of MMK and SDM Mahila Mahavidyalaya, Mysuru in association with Young India, Mysore Chapter, a subsidiary organization of CII(Confederation of Indian Industry) organised a one day district level workshop on "Design Thinking". Mr Rakesh Babu, COO & Executive Director, Innomantra consultancy Pvt Ltd, explained about how one can update themselves with new skills which the organisations are seeking for. He also mentioned the importance of having a creative mindset which will help them overcome obstacles and give them confidence to succeed in their work.
Prof Bharathi N, principal of the college, who presided the session informed the participants about the importance of entrepreneurship and how it has changed the entire ecosystem.
Students from Daksha College and Trinity College, along with Mr. Niranth M R, Coordinator of the Entrepreneurship Hub, as well as members of YUVA, Young India, and Entrepreneurship hub, were also present on the occasion.
The Home Management session on " LOVE YOURSELF" was delivered by Mrs. Deepika Vinay, Makeup Artist, Sizzles Beauty Zone, Mysuru on Saturday 15th Feb at MMK and SDM Mahila Mahavidyalaya, Mysuru. A captivating demonstration and powerful speech delivered by Mrs. Deepika Vinay held at the College auditorium. Students enthusiastically observe the artist's masterful techniques and hear her insights into the ever-evolving beauty industry.
Mrs Deepika Vinay shared a live demonstration showcasing her signature makeup style, which blends artistry with cutting-edge techniques. She walked the audience through the step-by-step process of creating a flawless, glowing look that highlighted skin texture and personalized color choices. Her demonstration not only highlighted her precision with brushes but also underscored her passion for making beauty accessible to all.
As the beauty industry continues to grow, students grasp the ideology regarding makeup. Total 230 students benefited from this session. The Academic and Administrative Audit of MMK and SDM Mahila Maha Vidyalaya and MMK and SDM Girls PU College was successfully conducted on February 17th and 18th , 2025. The audit committee comprised esteemed members: Prof. S. N. Kakathkar, Academic Coordinator, SDME Society, Ujire; Dr. P. Vishwanath, Dean, SDM PG Center, Ujire; Dr. Rathnavathi, Head of the Department of Commerce, SDM College, Ujire; and Prof. B. Ganesh Nayak, Head of the Department of Mathematics, SDM College, Ujire. The team meticulously reviewed the documentation and records maintained across all departments and other sections of the Institutions.
In his insightful inaugural address, Dr. Sateeshchandra S., Honourable Secretary of SDME Society, Ujire, highlighted the significance of academic and administrative audits in ensuring institutional growth and excellence. He also addressed the non-teaching staff, emphasizing their vital role in the smooth functioning of the institution.
As part of the proceedings, Prof. N. Bharathi, Principal of the Degree College, and Prof. Nayana Kumari, Principal of the PU College, presented a comprehensive report outlining the key activities, initiatives, and achievements of the academic year 2023-24. The audit process encompassed seventeen departments from the Degree Section, including the Library, Physical Education and the Office of Administration, evaluated based on NAAC criterions. Additionally, ten departments and administration offices from the PU Section underwent thorough assessment.
The committee actively engaged with the Principals, Heads of Departments, faculty members, non-teaching staff and student representatives, fostering meaningful discussions on academic and administrative enhancements. During the exit meeting, the audit committee members provided valuable insights, constructive feedback, and recommendations based on their observations, contributing to the institution’s continuous development and excellence. The Academic and Audit Team also commended the concerned authorities for their well-structured presentation, warm hospitality, efficient maintenance and exemplary cleanliness, reflecting the institution’s commitment to excellence.
As part of the extension activities, the Department of Computer Science of MMK and SDM Mahila Maha vidyalaya, Mysuru organized an Internet Awareness Programme on 14th February 2025, for 8th and 9th standard students of Government High School, Lakshmipuram, Mysuru. The initiative aimed to equip students with essential knowledge about Internet technology and its diverse applications in education, communication and beyond.
Faculty members of the department, along with second-year BCA students, actively participated in training 19 school students, providing hands-on experience and practical insights into navigating the digital world. The session covered the safe and effective use of online resources, enabling students to harness the Internet for learning, research, and responsible digital engagement.
The programme was met with enthusiastic participation and positive feedback, with students expressing their keen interest in learning more about the Internet’s potential. They appreciated the engaging and informative session and requested similar initiatives in the future.
This successful outreach effort reflects the Department of Computer Science’s commitment to bridging the digital divide and fostering technological awareness among young learners.
The Department of Commerce, MMK & SDM Mahila Mahavidyalaya, Mysuru, organised a one-day State Level Workshop on "Indian Equity Market" on 19th February 2025. Mr. Prashanth Kumar, Assistant Professor, Department of Studies in Commerce, Vidya Vardhaka PG Centre, Mysuru, inaugurated the Workshop. The main objective of this workshop is to enhance knowledge and gain hands-on practical experience in the Indian Equity Market and its operations.
In his keynote address, Mr. Prashanth Kumar highlighted the pivotal role of Investment in the Indian Equity Market and its benefits. He emphasised the importance of knowing about the Equity Market, which is crucial for advancing investment and savings by analysing risk and return. These disciplines extend beyond textbooks.
Prof. N. Bharathi, Principal of MMK & SDM Mahila Mahavidyalaya, underscored the transformative impact of Investment during her presidential remarks. She also spoke about the importance of understanding the Indian Equity Market before investing, which helps to make better investments and get better returns.
The Workshop featured three sessions: the first on Fundamental Analysis of Companies, Equity Shares, Dividend Plans, and Bonus splits; the second on Mutual Funds; and the final session on long and short trading, hedging, intraday, and positional trading by Mr Prashanth Kumar, Assistant Professor, Department of Studies in Commerce, VVPGC Mysore.
During the session, Mrs Sukrutha K S, IQAC Coordinator, and Head Department of Computer Science, Mr Prashanth Jain H V, Coordinator; Ms Suprada Jain M; Mrs Harshitha Mallik, co-coordinators; Mr Mahadevaswamy S, Mr Syed Sadath, Ms Prathima M, Ms Bhavyashree Bhat P B and Ms Divyashree R, Assistant professors of Commerce; and the college teaching and non-teaching staff members were present and also the participants from various colleges of Mysore were present.
Students of the Department of Business Administration have achieved commendable success in the SWAYAM December 2024 examination. A total of 10 students from II BBA & III BBA, along with one faculty member, successfully cleared the exam.
Nine students completed the Business Communication course, while two took Personality Development, showcasing their dedication to skill enhancement.

The Valedictory Function of the annual NSS Camp of MMK and SDM Mahila Maha Vidyalaya at D. Salundi Village, Mysuru, was held on 15/02/2025, to mark its successful completion. The event was presided over by Prof. Bharati N, Principal of MMK & MMK MMV. During the event Sri Siddaramegowda, former Taluk Panchayat President, and Sri Prakash, BEO, along with many dignitaries, NSS volunteers and local community members were present.
A report on the camp's activities was presented, highlighting various community service initiatives such as health awareness programs and educational outreach. Mementos of appreciation were distributed to the volunteers in recognition of their contributions.
The event concluded with cultural performances and a vote of thanks, celebrating the spirit of community service and marking the end of a fulfilling NSS camp experience. During the program, Smt. Anitha P Jayaram, NSS Coordinator, along with NSS members Ms. Prathima M, Ms. Bhargavi HG, Ms. H. Vani, Dr. Arun Kumar, and 51 volunteers were present.
On February 14th, 2025, the Tech Amateur IT club from the Computer Science Department organized a video-making competition for BCA and BSc Computer Science students. The theme of the competition was "What You Like About Your College." With great enthusiasm, students participated and showcased their affection and appreciation for the college through thought-provoking and creative videos.
The competition featured a distinguished panel of judges, including Smt. Padma, Associate Professor and Librarian, and Smt. Nayana M P, Assistant Professor of the Computer Science Department. The event was coordinated by Ms. Sowmya N and Smt. Sushma S N, Assistant Professors of the Computer Science Department.
On February 14th, 2025, the sixth day of the NSS Annual Camp featured two guest lectures, a Science Exhibition, and an evening program. In the morning, a science experiment exhibition was organized by the students of MMK and SDM MMV for government school students. Concurrently, a guest lecture on the topic “Tobacco Consumption and Cancer Awareness” was delivered by Dr. Shwerha, Assistant Professor of Biotechnology. The program was presided over by Smt. Chaitra N, Head of the Department of Mathematics.
In the afternoon, another guest lecture was presented by Smt. Rajarajeshwari, Assistant Professor of Microbiology, on the topic “Functional Foods.” The program was presided over by Smt. Athiya Sameen, Assistant Professor of Microbiology.
The evening guest lecture program was delivered by Dr. Shivashankar, Asst.prof of environment science, who spoke on the topic “Solid Waste Management.” The program was presided over by Ms. Suprada Jain, Asst.Prof of Commerce.The program was followed by cultural performances by NSS volunteers and folk songs presented by Dr. Ningaraju and his team. In attendance were Smt. Anitha P. Jayaram, NSS Coordinator, along with Ms. Prathima M, Ms. H. Vani, Dr. Arun Kumar, members, and 51 NSS volunteers. The night concluded with the celebration of Shibira Jyothi, marking the final day of the NSS camp
On 12th February 2025, the students of MMK and SDM Mahila Mahavidyalaya, Mysuru, participated in Illumination 2025, a prestigious State Level Inter-Collegiate Literary Fest organized by Hindustan College, Mysuru. The students of MMK and SDM Mahila Mahavidyalaya excelled in multiple competitions, securing top positions:
Muktha Jain G R of III B.Sc (BmBt) and Nisarga Mahesh of III B.Com (B) secured first place and Chinthana G Bhat and Kalpana T L of III BCA won third place in Quiz competition, demonstrating exceptional knowledge and teamwork.
Mahima of III BCA showcased her poetic talent and won second place in the Poetry Competition.
The success of the students in Illumination 2025 highlights their dedication and the college’s commitment to fostering literary excellence. Their achievements were celebrated by faculty and peers, bringing pride to MMK and SDM Mahila Mahavidyalaya.
Interclass Debugging Competition
On 12/2/2025 the Department of Computer Science in association with Tech Amateur IT Club had organized an interclass Debugging Competition for the students of BCA and BSc Computer Science.
The objective of debugging competition is to think logically and develop the solution to the problem given using the C/C++ programming language. Here the students play the role of not only the programmer but also as testers of their own code which enhances their creativity, logical thinking and help them to become an efficient coder in future. By participating in such competitions students can become more proficient in coding languages and can build programs on their own which induces their self-confidence to become a good software developer.
A total of 44 students took part in the Debugging competition. Miss. Gagana K of III BCA, Miss. Unnathi J of II B Sc and Miss. Nisha U of I BCA ‘B’ won first, second and third places respectively.
Day 4 of NSS Annual Camp
On 12th February 2025, the fourth day of the NSS Annual Camp of MMK and SDM Mahila Maha Vidyalaya at D. Salundi, Jayapura Hobli, Mysuru started with a blood grouping camp, organized for the villagers and government school students by the Lion Blood Centre, Jeevadhara Mysuru. Simultaneously, a guest lecture on the topic "Strength in Unity" was delivered by Sri Kaaryappa, a member of the NSS Advisory Committee at University of Mysore. The program was presided over by Smt. Padma B S, Librarian at MMK & SDM MMV.
In the afternoon, a special guest lecture was presented by Smt. Nayana MP, Assistant Professor of Computer Science, on the topic "Boons and Bans of Social Media," aimed at educating students about the effects of social media on mental and physical health. The session was presided over by Smt. Ramya SK, Assistant Professor of Computer Science.
The evening program commenced with Sri Maruthi Prasanna BK, Assistant Professor from MMK & SDM MMV, presiding over and delivering an insightful speech on the topic "Life Skills and NSS." This was followed by cultural performances. The program was attended by Smt. Anitha P. Jayaram, NSS Coordinator, along with Ms. Prathima M, Ms. H. Vani, members and 51 NSS volunteers
The Department of Commerce of MMK and SDM Mahila Mahavidyalaya organized a guest lecture on the topic "Overview of Security Market and Career Growth" on 12th Feb 2025. The lecture was delivered by Mr. B. Badrinarayanan, Senior Executive of BSE IPF(Bombay Stock Exchange Investor Protection Fund), Chennai.
Students learnt about the Bombay Stock Exchange, investment products and risk management, types of investments, and the overall view of the security market and career growth. The lecture highlighted the significance of investments, emphasizing their importance for future financial stability and success.
During the session Mr. Prashanth Jain H V, Coordinator, Ms. Suprada Jain M, Ms. Harshitha Mallik, Co coordinators and staff members of the department were present.
The Department of Basic Sciences (Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics) of MMK & SDM Mahila Mahavidyalaya, Mysore, organized a one-day National Level Seminar on the theme "Emerging Trends and Challenges in Mathematical, Physical, and Chemical Science" on 11th February 2025. The seminar was inaugurated by Dr. K. Shiva Kumar, Associate Professor, Department of Chemistry, School of Physical Sciences, Central University of Kerala.
In his keynote address, Dr. K. Shiva Kumar highlighted the pivotal role of science in fostering a sustainable and innovative future. He emphasized the importance of excelling in subjects like Physics, Mathematics, and Chemistry, which are crucial for career advancement and a brighter future. These disciplines extend beyond textbooks, driving innovations that significantly impact global sustainability and technological progress.
Prof. N. Bharathi, Principal of MMK & SDM Mahila Mahavidyalaya, underscored the transformative impact of advancements and technologies in these interconnected fields during her presidential remarks. She cited examples such as underwater communication, diodes, classical computers and quantum computing, and nanotechnology, illustrating how they have revolutionized our lives.
The seminar featured three sessions: the first session on Green Chemistry was led by Dr. K. Shiva Kumar; the second session on Optical Tweezers was addressed by Dr. Praveen Parthasarathi, Assistant Professor in Physics, Dr. H. N. National College of Engineering, Jayanagar, Bangalore; and the final session on Factorization Techniques in Cryptography was delivered by Dr. Madhusudhan H. S., Principal and Associate Professor of Mathematics, Government First Grade College, Pandavapura, Mandya.
The Career Guidance and Placement Cell of MMK and SDM Mahila Mahavidyalaya, Mysore, in collaboration with T.I.M.E Mysuru, meticulously organized a six-day Campus Recruitment Training program for all final-year undergraduate students, which was held from February 3 to February 8, 2025. The inaugural session of this esteemed program took place on February 3, 2025. The event was graced by the presence of Smt. Saraswathi Hegde, Center Director of T.I.M.E Mysuru, who played a pivotal role in the proceedings. Prof. Bharathi, the Principal of the college, presided over the session, underlining the importance of the program. The presence of Smt. Sukrutha, IQAC Coordinator, and Mr. Mahadevswamy S, Assistant Professor and Placement Officer, highlighted the dedication of the faculty towards the professional development of the students. A notable number of 205 final-year students participated in the session, eager to enhance their skills and prepare for the campus recruitment processes.
Throughout the six-day training program, students were provided with comprehensive guidance on various aspects of campus recruitment. The curriculum included intensive sessions on resume building, interview techniques, group discussions, and aptitude test preparation. The program also featured workshops on soft skills development, such as effective communication, teamwork, and leadership abilities. Additionally, students were exposed to real-world scenarios through mock interviews and group exercises, enabling them to gain practical insights and build confidence.
On 11 February 2025, the third day of the NSS Annual Camp of MMK and SDM Mahila Maha Vidyalaya at D. Salundi, Jayapura Hobli, Mysuru, featured a series of distinguished guest lectures and an evening program.
The morning began with an eye check-up camp for villagers organized by SAG Eye Hospital, Mysore, alongside a Life Skills program with recreational events led by the Yuva Spandana team. The program was chaired by Dr. Wethro Kapfo, Assistant Professor of Biochemistry.
In the afternoon, Sr. Mahadevaswamy S, Assistant Professor of Commerce, delivered a guest lecture on "Personal Monetary Management," focusing on educating students about savings and financial management. The session was chaired by Smt. Malathi, Assistant Professor in the Department of Physical Education.
The evening programs included a guest lecture by P. P. Baabu Raj, Senior Advocate from Mysore, who delivered an insightful speech on "Children’s Protection and Rights," followed by cultural performances. The program was presided over by Sri Yogeesh Rao, Office Chief Superintendent of MMK & SDM MMV. The event was attended by NSS Coordinator Smt. Anitha P. Jayaram, along with Ms. Bhargavi HG, Ms. Prathima M, Ms. H. Vani, Dr. Arun Kumar,(members) and 51 NSS volunteers.
On 10 February 2025, the second day of the NSS Annual Camp of MMK and SDM MMV featured a series of enlightening guest lectures and an engaging evening program.
The day began with a morning lecture by Dr. Vinoda, Head of the Department of Kannada, on "Sharana Sahithyadalli Akka Mahadevi." The session was chaired by Prof. K.S. Sukrutha, IQAC Coordinator and Head of the Department of Computer Science.
In the afternoon, Sri. Ningaraju, Assistant Professor at Maharaja Evening College, delivered a lecture on "Janapada Sahithya & Kalike," which included captivating folk songs and dance performances. This session was presided over by Sri. Prashanth Jain V, Head of the Department of Commerce.
The evening program featured an insightful speech by the Chief Guest, Smt. Smitha Devaiah, Advocate from Mysore, on "Women’s Rights and Law," followed by cultural performances. The program was chaired by Dr. Srinivas, Assistant Professor, Department of Sanskrit, MMK & SDM MMV. Key attendees included NSS Coordinator Smt. Anitha P. Jayaram and members Ms. Bhargavi HG, Ms. Prathima M, Ms. H. Vani, and 51 NSS volunteers.
The day's events provided valuable educational and cultural experiences for all participants, contributing to the overall success of the camp.
On Sunday, 09 February 2025, MMK and SDM Mahila Vidyalaya, Mysore, inaugurated a 7-day annual camp at D.Salundi Village, Jayapura Hobli, Mysore Taluk, Mysore District.
Sri. Beerihundi Basavanna, the former president of the Zilla Panchayat, CM SiddarameGowda, the former president of the Taluk Panchayat, and Smt. Geeta, the field resource coordination officer, inaugurated the camp by watering a plant.
Prof. Bharathi N, Principal of MMK & SDM College, presided over the program and spoke to students about the value of village experiences in teaching social service, contributing to society, and fostering all-round development. She emphasized the importance of loving NSS, highlighting its role in providing motivation, work skills, and serving as a medium for social service, sacrifice, and service.
Prof. Nayana Kumari, Principal of MMK AND SDM Girls PU College, NSS Coordinator Anita P Jayaram, Committee Member Dr. KN Arun Kumar, Pratima M, Bhargavi H G, and Vani H were present at the event. The villagers of Salundi Village, along with Village Panchayat Members, Taluk Panchayat Members, and Zilla Panchayat Members, attended the program and contributed to its success.
On 8th February 2025 Department of Computer Science had organized an invited session on the topic Stack – Its Operations and Applications by Mr. Giridath Amruthur Chandrashekar, a Freelancer Software Engineer based in Mysuru and also the parent of Ms Nidhi Giridath of I B Sc(BtBM) as a part of Parent Faculty Programme.
The primary objective of the Parent Faculty Programme was to introduce first-year B.Sc. students to the fundamental concepts of Stacks, their operations, and real-world applications. The session aimed to bridge the gap between theoretical learning and practical industry knowledge, helping students understand how stack data structures play a crucial role in solving problems efficiently in computer science. This programme also serves as one of the best practices at the college for fostering stronger relationships among key stakeholders - students, faculty and parents. With his vast experience in software development and programming, Mr. Giridath gave an insightful presentation on the stack data structure, explaining its operations, such as Push, Pop, Peek, and its various applications in programming and computer science. A total of 38 I B Sc Computer Science students were benefited by this programme.
Home Management session on " YOUTH AND ENTREPRENEURSHIP" was delivered by Sri Chinnaswamy Vaddagere, Agriculturist, Vaddagere, Gundlupete, Chamarajanagara District on 8th of February 2025. In the present era,women are recognized as successful entrepreneurs through their strong desire, qualities, and capability. Speaker gave insight into local women entrepreneurs which helped students to get new ideas, perspectives, and ways of doing new things. They also learnt about the importance of economic independence of women by becoming entrepreneurs.
A Total 237 students benefited from this session.

Home Management session on " FAMILY VALUES- VALUE EDUCATION " was delivered by Prof. Mysuru Krishnamurthy, Professor, Department of Kannada, Post Graduate Center, Government First Grade College, K R Nagara on 1st of February 2025.Students learnt the importance of family values as they shape their life quality. They understood that morality, loyalty, integrity, love are examples of family values. "Family values- value education" session made the students understand that family values guide a human through difficult choices and develop strong mental compasses.

The Literary Committee of MMK and SDM Mahila Mahavidyalaya, Mysore, successfully organized an interclass literary event Flash Fiction on 1st February 2025. The event featured a story writing competition open to students from all streams, conducted in three languages: Kannada, Hindi, and English. A total of 40 students enthusiastically participated, showcasing their creativity and literary skills in the art of short story writing.
The event was judged by the faculty members: Mr. Maruthi Prasanna, Assistant Professor, Department of Kannada, Dr. Shobhana, Assistant Professor, Department of Hindi and Mr. Sachin M.K, Assistant Professor, Department of English. The event was graced by the presence of Prof. Bharathi N, Principal along with literary committee members, students, and teaching and non-teaching staff.
The INTERCLASS COMPETITION for all the streams at MMK SDM MMV, Mysore was organised by the Cultural Committee, under the guidance of Dr. Vinoda, Cultural committee coordinator, MMK SDM MMV, Mysore.
All the events were presided by Principal, Prof. Bharathi N, and in the presence of IQAC Coordinator Sukrutha K S.
The competitions like Mehndi, Rangoli, Bridal Make Up with hairstyle, Singing, Cooking without Fire and Dance were conducted from 28/01/2025 to 01/02/2025, with program Coordinator’s Ms. Supradha Jain M, Dr. Shwetha S, Dr. Shobana S, Smt. Sushma S N and Mr. Abhishek S.
The students from all the streams participated with all passion and enthusiasm by exhibiting their talents. The I, II and III prizes were awarded for all the winners as per respective jury justification.
