One-Day International Workshop titled “Yogic Lifestyle for Focus, Clarity and Success” The PG Department of Commerce organized a One-Day International Workshop titled “Yogic Lifestyle for Focus, Clarity and Success”on 10/12/25 in the auditorium of MMKSDM COLLEGE. The workshop aimed to create awareness on the importance of yogic practices in enhancing mental clarity, emotional balance, and overall professional and academic success among students and faculty members. Dr. Sharada Devi,Chief Guest & Resource Person delivered an inspiring session on yogic living and its impact on focus and personal productivity. She emphasized the role of mindfulness and disciplined routines in achieving success.Dr. Raghavendra Pai,Resource Person conducted an insightful session on practical yoga techniques and their psychological benefits. He introduced simple and effective yogic practices suitable for students .Presidential Remarks were given by Prof. Bharathi, Principal, addressed the gathering and highlighted the need for holistic education. She encouraged students to integrate yoga into their daily lives for academic excellence and emotional well-being.The program coordinator was Dr.Devaki K.K, and cocoordinator Smt.Amritha .P.Nayak.
Industrialist Interaction Programme Held at MMK & SDM MMV The Department of M.Com organized an Industrialist Interaction – Classroom to Corporate Practice programme on December 26, 2025, at the college auditorium, aiming to bridge the gap between academic learning and corporate realities.
Mr. Goutham Shetty, HRIR Operations and HR Trainer at Radico Khaitan, Mysuru, was the resource person for the programme. He shared valuable insights on corporate culture, professional ethics, workplace behavior, and industry expectations, enabling students to understand real-time industrial practices.
The interaction helped students gain practical knowledge of corporate functioning, improved their awareness of employability skills such as communication and leadership, and provided clarity on career opportunities in commerce and management fields. The programme also motivated students towards effective career planning and skill development while strengthening industry–academia interaction.
The session was coordinated by Dr. Devaki K. K., Assistant Professor, Department of M.Com. The programme benefited 40 M.Com students, who actively participated and interacted with the resource person.. Faculty members Smt. Amritha and Sri. Manu Prasad was present and supported the successful conduct of the programme.
“Dr. Devaki K.K. Assistant Professor, Dept of M.Com, conferred the Post-Doctoral Research Degree by YUVA (Yoga University of the Americas), Florida, USA, on 7th December 2025 during the 10th Convocation Global Summit held at Dr. Babu Rajendra Prasad International Convention Centre, Bengaluru. The post-doctoral research was titled ‘Impact of Yoga Practice on Stress Management among Higher Secondary School Students in Mysore District’.”
An IQAC initiated Two days workshop on "Animal cell culture and Real-Time PCR" at SDM Research Institute for Biomedical Sciences, SDMU as part of MOU program was organized for final year and first year BSc Life sciences students (33) by the Department of Biotechnology, MMK and SDM MMV, Mysuru on 23rd and 24th December 2025. Prof Bharathi N, the Principal of MMK and SDM MMV, Mysuru guided students about the importance of workshop prior visit and Smt.Sukrutha K S, IQAC coordinator extended moral support. The workshop inaugural address session was held at Ishavasyam auditorium, SDMU, Dharwad in the presence of Hon’ble Executive Director Smt. Padmalatha Niranjan and Dr. K Satyamoorthy, Director-Research of SDMRIBS. The other dignitaries on the dias included Dr Ajanta G S,Deputy Registrar and Dr AjaykumarOli , Additional Associate Professor, SDMRIBS, SDMU Dharwad.
The program coordinator was Dr. Shwetha S, HoD and Asst Prof Biotechnology Dept. and Co-coordinators were Ms Kanthashree K L, Dept of Biochemistry and Mr Abhishek S, Dept of Biotechnology from MMK and SDM MMV, Mysuru. Dr Ajay S K, Dr MallikarjunGoni, Dr Prashanth, Dr T G Vasudevan, Ms Apoorva Jain, and Ms Aishwarya were the resource persons from SDMRIBS and CCMS, SDMU Dharwad.
The participants experienced hands-on skills on culturing MCF7 Breast cancer cell lines and Real Time PCR techniques. The certificates were issued by Dr Satyamoorthy to all the participants post completion of the workshop.
The Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) meeting of MMK & SDM Mahila Mahavidyalaya was held on 20th December 2025 under the chairmanship of Prof. N. Bharathi, Principal and IQAC Chairperson. The agenda primarily focused on reviewing and approving the proposed activities for the even semester of the academic year 2025–26.
Esteemed external members including Dr. B. H. Suresh, Retired Professor, University of Mysore; Prof. H. S. Nagendraswamy, Manasagangothri; Smt. Smitha Devaiah, Advocate; Sri Raghavendra Kulkarni, PTA President; Dr. M. K. Usha, Alumni Association President; and Miss Gangashree M., Student Council President, graced the meeting.
The session began with the presentation of the previous meeting minutes and ATR by Smt. K. S. Sukrutha, IQAC Coordinator, followed by a review of semester achievements and forthcoming plans shared by Prof. N. Bharathi. Members appreciated the contributions of staff and students and suggested measures to strengthen academic quality.
The meeting proceedings included, Welcome address by Smt. Ramya S.K., Associate Professor of Computer Science, Vote of thanks by Smt. Padma B S, Librarian, Master of Ceremony bySmt. Chaithra N., Head, Department of Mathematics.
MMK & SDM Mahila Mahavidyalaya (MMV), Mysuru, inaugurated a four-day certificate course on Artificial Intelligence and Data Analytics on December 15, 2025. Cocurricular committee in association with Dept of Computer science and ICT academy organized this Advanced IT skill training phase III, a CSR initiative by IBM for final year BCA students, with the objective of enhancing industry-relevant skills.
The inaugural function was presided over by Prof. N. Bharathi, Principal of the college. The dignitaries on the dais included Mr. Prajwal Vasishta, Senior Relationship Manager, IBM and ICT Academy, along with IBM trainers Mr. Dilaan Somanna K., Mr. Kasamne, and Mr. Lokesh.
In her presidential address, Prof. N. Bharathi emphasized the growing importance of technology and technical skills among the younger generation to meet the demands of the rapidly evolving digital industry.
Smt. Ramya S. K., Associate Professor of computer science, and Ms. Sowmya, Assistant Professor and peogram coordinator. Course mentors Ms. Bhargavi H. G., Smt Amulya S. Chandru, Ms. Ankita, and Smt. Shruti were also present during the programme.
On 10/12/2025, University Local Inspection Committee visited our College comprising of Prof. Dr. D. S. Guru – Senior Professor, DOS in Computer Science, Manasagangothri, Mysore, Chairman, Local Inspection Committee, Prof. K. N. Mohan – Senior Professor, DOS in Chemistry, Manasagangothri, Mysore , Prof. N. S. Raju – Professor, DOS in Environmental Studies, Manasagangothri, Mysore , Director, College Development Council – Moulya Bhavana, Manasagangothri, Mysore.
The committee visited the college as part of the local inspection process. Prof. N. Bharathi, Principal, presented a comprehensive overview of the college’s activities, achievements, and developments during the academic year 2024–25. The committee expressed appreciation for Academic and extracurricular achievements of staff and students , Student-centric activities conducted by the institution. The committee enquired about Placement statistics of students during 2024-25 & Admission statistics during the academic year 2025-26. The college’s future plans were also presented to the committee for consideration. Mrs. Brunda R, HOD of English, extended a warm welcome to the Chairman and members of the committee.Dr. Vinoda, HOD of Kannada, delivered the vote of thanks, formally concluding the session. Heads of all departments and senior faculties were present.
