The NSS Unit of MMK & SDM Mahila Mahavidyalaya, Mysuru, in association with Clear Medi Multi-Speciality Hospital, organized a General Health Check-Up Camp on Saturday, 29 August 2026, at the college campus.

The camp was conducted from 12:00 noon to 4:00 p.m. with the objective of creating health awareness and encouraging regular health check-ups among the college community. A total of 130 participants, including students, parents and faculty members, benefited from the programme.

The participants underwent general health check-ups and received free health advice from the medical team. The programme emphasized the importance of preventive healthcare, early detection of health issues and maintaining a healthy lifestyle.

The camp was presided over by Prof. N. Bharathi, Principal, MMK & SDM Mahila Mahavidyalaya, and Smt. Shobha S. P., Principal, MMK & SDM Girls PU College.

The programme was coordinated by Smt. Anitha P. Jayaram, NSS Coordinator, and Smt. K. S. Sukrutha, IQAC Coordinator, with the support of NSS Committee members, including Mr. Syed Sadath, Smt. Prathima, Dr. Arun Kumar, Mr. Sachin M. K., and Ms. Kavya Pujar, along with NSS student volunteers.

The health camp was a meaningful initiative towards promoting health consciousness and well-being among students, parents and staff.

The Home Management Committee of MMK & SDM Mahila Mahavidyalaya, Krishnamurthypuram, Mysuru, organized a Home Management Session on “First Aid, Home Nursing, Prevention & Remedies” on 29 August 2026 in the College Auditorium for all second-year students. The session aimed to create awareness among students about basic first aid, home nursing practices, preventive healthcare, and appropriate remedies for common health-related situations.

Sri. Prabhudeva M. K., Director, JK Global Academy and Ex-Head HR, JK Tyres, Mysore, served as the Resource Persons. They shared practical knowledge on first-aid procedures, basic home nursing, prevention of common health problems, and the importance of taking appropriate care during emergencies. The session helped students understand the significance of timely action, health awareness, and maintaining safety at home.

Presiding over the programme, Prof. N. Bharathi, Principal, emphasized the importance of acquiring basic healthcare and first-aid skills for managing emergencies effectively.

The programme was coordinated by Sri. B. N. Maruthi Prasanna, Coordinator, with the support of the organizing faculty members Smt. R. Rajeshwari, Smt. Kavya S. N., Dr. Srinivas, Ms. Divyashree R., Smt. Chaitra H. V., and Smt. Sahana B. A total of 217 students participated in the session. The session was informative and practical, helping students gain essential knowledge about first aid, home nursing, prevention, and remedies, and equipping them to respond responsibly to health-related situations at home.      

An IQAC-initiated grand Onam celebration, “Malar 2026” – A Celebration of Togetherness and the Joy of Onam, was organized by the Student Welfare Committee and Student Council members on 28th August 2026 at the MMK & SDM Mahila Mahavidyalaya College Quadrangle, Mysuru, with immense enthusiasm and cultural fervour. The event was conducted with the support of Smt. Jyothilakshmi G. Kava, Student Welfare Officer.

The celebration aimed to revive and honour the traditional spirit of Onam while providing students with a platform to showcase their talents and experience the festive season with a deep sense of joy, unity and togetherness.

The college entrance was beautifully adorned with a grand Pookalam (floral carpet), creating a vibrant and festive atmosphere. The cultural programmes showcased the grace and elegance of traditional dance forms, adding colour and splendour to the celebrations. The event also featured exciting fun-filled games, including Pen and Cup and Tug of War, which witnessed enthusiastic participation from students and staff.

Prof. N. Bharathi, Principal, Smt. K. S. Sukrutha, IQAC Coordinator, Heads of Departments, teaching and non-teaching staff, and students from various departments graced the occasion in traditional Kerala attire. Their enthusiastic participation reflected the spirit of unity, tradition and joy, making “Malar 2026” a truly memorable Onam celebration.  

The Department of Computer Science, MMK & SDM Mahila Mahavidyalaya, Mysuru, organized an Internet Awareness Programme for the students of Lakshmipuram Government High School, Mysuru, on 27 August 2026 at the college premises.

The programme was organized with the objective of creating awareness among school students about the Internet and its applications, MS Office, Cyber Security, the effects of social media on mental and physical health, and the effective use of the Internet for educational purposes.

The programme was conducted under the support of Smt. K. S. Sukrutha, HOD and Associate Professor, Department of Computer Science. Ms. Bhargavi H. G. and Ms. Sowmya N., Assistant Professors, Department of Computer Science, coordinated the programme.

The sessions were interactive and encouraged students to understand the importance of safe and responsible digital practices. A total of 22 students participated in the programme.

The programme helped the students gain practical knowledge about the safe and effective use of the Internet and digital technologies. They developed a better understanding of cyber security, MS Office applications, responsible social media usage, and the role of the Internet in education. The students actively engaged in the sessions and activities and shared positive feedback.

The National Service Scheme (NSS) of MMK & SDM Mahila Mahavidyalaya, Mysuru, participated in a special programme organised as part of International Youth Day celebrations on 19 August 2026 at 10:00 a.m. at Gandhi Bhavana, Bengaluru. The programme, centred on the theme “Youth Physical and Mental Health on the Path Shown by Mahatma Gandhi,” aimed to create awareness among young people about the importance of physical and mental well-being and the relevance of Gandhian values in contemporary life.

The programme was organised jointly by the State NSS Cell, Department of Youth Empowerment and Sports, Government of Karnataka; Karnataka Gandhi Memorial Fund; Government First Grade College, T. Dasarahalli, Bengaluru; Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, Bengaluru; and Vallabha Nikethan University Trust, in association with the University of Mysore NSS. The programme provided an enriching platform for young volunteers to understand the importance of maintaining a healthy body and mind while following the principles of discipline, service, peace and social responsibility advocated by Mahatma Gandhi.

A total of six NSS student volunteers from MMK & SDM Mahila Mahavidyalaya, Mysuru, actively participated in the programme. Their participation enabled them to gain valuable insights into youth development, physical and mental health, and the role of young people in building a responsible and compassionate society. The programme also encouraged the volunteers to reflect on how Gandhian principles can be meaningfully incorporated into their everyday lives.

Prof. N. Bharathi, Principal of MMK & SDM Mahila Mahavidyalaya, Smt. K. S. Sukrutha, IQAC Coordinator, and Smt. Anitha P. Jayaram, NSS Coordinator, encouraged the NSS student volunteers to participate actively in the programme and make the most of such meaningful learning opportunities. Their encouragement motivated the students to engage enthusiastically in initiatives that promote holistic development, social awareness and responsible citizenship. The participation of the NSS volunteers in the International Youth Day programme was a valuable and enriching experience that strengthened their commitment to personal well-being and community service.

The National Service Scheme (NSS) of MMK & SDM Mahila Mahavidyalaya, Mysuru, actively participated in the Clean Drive – Swachh Mysuru initiative organised by Youth for Seva – Mysuru Chapter. The cleanliness drive was conducted on Saturday, 22 August 2026, from 7:00 a.m. onwards at Ananthaswamy Park, Ballal Circle, Mysuru. The initiative was organised with the objective of promoting cleanliness, environmental responsibility and active community participation towards creating a cleaner and greener Mysuru.

A total of 10 NSS student volunteers from MMK & SDM Mahila Mahavidyalaya, Mysuru, participated enthusiastically in the cleanliness drive. The programme provided the students with an opportunity to contribute directly to the cleanliness of their surroundings and to understand the importance of collective responsibility in maintaining a clean and healthy environment. 

The Clean Drive was organised by Youth for Seva – Mysuru Chapter, in association with Appaji Foundation, Manipal Hospitals, and MMK & SDM College for Women. The programme encouraged citizens, students and volunteers to come together and contribute towards the vision of a clean and green city. The active involvement of the NSS volunteers reflected their commitment to the values of service, environmental awareness and responsible citizenship.

Prof. N. Bharathi, Principal of MMK & SDM Mahila Mahavidyalaya, along with Smt. K. S. Sukrutha, IQAC Coordinator, and Smt. Anitha P. Jayaram, NSS Coordinator, encouraged the NSS student volunteers to participate actively in the cleanliness drive and contribute meaningfully to the community.

A One-Day Capacity Building Workshop was organized by the department of English in association Ramakrishna Institute of Moral and Spiritual Education (RIMSE), Mysuru, for the students of Mysore Makkala Koota & Sri Dharmasthala Manjunatheshwara Mahila Mahavidyalaya, Mysuru, on 20th August 2026. The workshop aimed at enhancing students’ personal, academic and career-related skills through a series of informative and engaging sessions. A total of 118 students accompanied by three faculty members participated in the workshop.

 The program commenced with the arrival of the students, followed by a Guided Meditation session conducted by Swami Ishthanathananada. The students then attended a session on Career Building by Sri Subramanya sir, which provided useful insights into career planning, personal development and future opportunities. After lunch, the students visited the RIMSE Museum, which offered them an opportunity to learn through observation and experience.

 The afternoon session focused on Digital Wellness and Screen Time Management, delivered by Dr. Pradeep. The session highlighted the importance of maintaining a healthy relationship with digital devices and managing screen time effectively. 

 The Principal of MMK & SDM Mahila Mahavidyalaya, Prof. Bharathi N, along with IQAC Coordinator Ms. Sukrutha K. S., encouraged and motivated the students to make the best use of the workshop. The program was coordinated by Ms. Brunda R Head, Assistant professor, Department of English and supported by Ms Ujwala S Shetty,  Assistant Professor and Mr. Sachin MK,  Assistant Professor Department of English. The program provided the students with valuable learning experiences beyond the classroom and contributed to their overall personal and professional development. The students thoroughly enjoyed the workshop and appreciated the opportunity to participate in such a meaningful and engaging program

A Book Exhibition was organized at the MMK & SDM MMV Library, Mysuru, to commemorate the 80th Independence Day of India and celebrate the nation’s liberation from British colonial rule.

The exhibition was held on 17th August 2026. A collection of books related to Indian freedom fighters, the freedom movement, and the struggle for independence was displayed to create awareness among students about India’s freedom struggle and the contributions of national leaders.

A total of 147 students and 7 faculty members visited and viewed the exhibition. The exhibition provided an opportunity for students to explore books related to India’s history and freedom movement and encouraged them to develop an interest in reading and learning about the nation’s rich historical heritage.

The programme was successfully conducted with active participation from students and faculty members.

A Book Exhibition was organized at the MMK & SDM MMV Library, Mysuru, to commemorate the birth anniversary of Dr. Sudha Murty, a renowned author, philanthropist, and social worker.

The exhibition was held on 19th August 2026. A collection of books authored by Dr. Sudha Murty was displayed in the library. The exhibition aimed to create awareness among students about the availability of her books in the library and encourage them to develop the habit of reading.

The exhibition attracted 120 students and 7 faculty members, who actively viewed the displayed collection. The initiative provided an opportunity for the students to explore the literary works of Dr. Sudha Murty and encouraged them to make use of the library resources.

The exhibition was successfully conducted with active participation from students and faculty members.

ರಂಗಯಾನ ಟ್ರಸ್ಟ್ ಮೈಸೂರು (ರಿ) ಹಾಗೂ ಕನ್ನಡ ಮತ್ತು ಸಂಸ್ಕೃತಿ ನಿರ್ದೇಶನಾಲಯ ಬೆಂಗಳೂರು ಇವರ ಜಂಟಿ ಆಶ್ರಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಆಯೋಜಿಸಲಾಗಿದ್ದ 'ಬಣ್ಣದ ಮಾಂತ್ರಿಕ ಬಿ.ಎಂ.ರಾಮಚಂದ್ರ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿ ನಾಟಕೋತ್ಸವ'ದಲ್ಲಿ ನಮ್ಮ ಎಂ.ಎಂ.ಕೆ ಮತ್ತು ಎಸ್.ಡಿ.ಎಂ ಮಹಿಳಾ ಮಹಾವಿದ್ಯಾಲಯದ ಕನ್ನಡ ವಿಭಾಗವು ಅತ್ಯಂತ ಉತ್ಸಾಹದಿಂದ ಭಾಗವಹಿಸಿ, ಯಶಸ್ವಿ ನಾಟಕ ಪ್ರದರ್ಶನವನ್ನು ನೀಡಿತು.

ದಿನಾಂಕ 19-08-2026 ರಂದು ನಡೆದ ಈ ನಾಟಕೋತ್ಸವದಲ್ಲಿ ಕಾಲೇಜಿನ ಕನ್ನಡ ವಿಭಾಗದ ವತಿಯಿಂದ 'ಚಿತ್ರಪಟ' ಎಂಬ ಅರ್ಥಪೂರ್ಣ ನಾಟಕವನ್ನು ವೇದಿಕೆಯ ಮೇಲೆ ಪ್ರದರ್ಶಿಸಲಾಯಿತು. ರಂಗಭೂಮಿ ಹಾಗೂ ಸಾಂಸ್ಕೃತಿಕ ರಂಗದಲ್ಲಿ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳ ಪ್ರತಿಭೆಯನ್ನು ಹೊರತರುವ ನಿಟ್ಟಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಈ ವೇದಿಕೆಯು ಅತ್ಯಂತ ಉಪಯುಕ್ತವಾಗಿತ್ತು.

ಕಾಲೇಜಿನ 18 ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿನಿಯರು ಈ ನಾಟಕದಲ್ಲಿ ವಿಭಿನ್ನ ಪಾತ್ರಗಳಿಗೆ ಜೀವ ತುಂಬಿದರು. ತಮ್ಮ ಅದ್ಭುತ ಅಭಿನಯ, ಸಂಭಾಷಣೆ ಹಾಗೂ ರಂಗಪರಿಕರಗಳ ಪರಿಣಾಮಕಾರಿ ಬಳಕೆಯ ಮೂಲಕ ಪ್ರೇಕ್ಷಕರ ಮತ್ತು ರಂಗವಿಮರ್ಶಕರ ಮನ ಗೆಲ್ಲುವಲ್ಲಿ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳು ಯಶಸ್ವಿಯಾದರು. ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಕಲಾತ್ಮಕ ಅಭಿವ್ಯಕ್ತಿ, ಸಂವಹನ ಕೌಶಲ ಹಾಗೂ ಸಾಂಸ್ಥಿಕ ಸಹಕಾರವನ್ನು ಹೆಚ್ಚಿಸಲು ಈ ರಂಗಪ್ರಯೋಗವು ಉತ್ತಮ ಅವಕಾಶ ಕಲ್ಪಿಸಿಕೊಟ್ಟಿತು.

 MMK & SDM Mahila Mahavidyalaya, Krishnamurthypuram, inaugurated a comprehensive six-day Campus Recruitment Training (CRT) program for all final-year students 19th August 2026. Organized by the institution's Career Guidance & Placement Cell in association with T.I.M.E( Triumphant Institute of Management Education Pvt. Ltd. ) Mysore as an IQAC initiative, the program aims to equip students with the essential skills required to excel in upcoming corporate recruitment drives.

The inaugural ceremony commenced at 9:30 AM in the college auditorium, drawing enthusiastic participation from final-year students and faculty members. Smt. Saraswathi Hegde, Center Director of T.I.M.E., Mysore, graced the event as the esteemed Inaugurator, officially launching the intensive training schedule.

Principal Prof. N. Bharathi presided over the function, delivering the presidential address that emphasized the critical importance of career readiness, continuous learning, and professional aptitude in today's competitive job market.

Sharing the dais were IQAC Coordinator Smt. K.S. Sukrutha (Head of Computer Science) alongside Mr. Mahadevaswamy S., Coordinator of the Career Guidance and Placement Cell. A dedicated team of organizing faculty members—including Sri. Niranth M.R., Smt. Dr. Harshitha Mallik, Ms. Bhargavi H.G., Sri. Abhishek S., Smt. Chaitra H.V., Sri. Dr. Raghavendra, and Smt. Amrutha P. Nayak—along with active student coordinators, ensured the seamless launch of the program.

The extensive six-day training camp is featuring targeted sessions designed to sharpen students' aptitude, technical knowledge, soft skills, and interview performance.

On 20 August 2026, Smt. K. S. Sukrutha, Head & Associate Professor of Computer Science, Smt. Ramya S. K., Associate Professor of Computer Science, and 29 students of II BCA visited the Techno Expo held at St. Philomena’s College, Mysore. The expo was organized by the PG/UG Department of Computer Applications.

The students explored a wide range of innovative projects and working models designed to address real-life challenges. The exhibits included an Automatic River Cleaning System, Smart Home, Smart Bell with Photo Capturing, Robotics, an Alexa-like Voice Assistant Model, Smart City, Railway Safety System, IoT-based Models, Blind Safety System, Electricity Generation through Footsteps, Mud Fertility Detection for Crop Growing, Smart Shopping Cart, Wireless EV Charging, Smart Bus, Face Recognition-based Attendance Monitoring System, Li-Fi Communication, U-Turn Road Accident Prevention System, Object Detection Radar, Period Cramp Simulator, and several other technology-based solutions. The students actively observed the functioning of these models and gained an understanding of how different technologies can be integrated to develop innovative, efficient, and socially useful solutions.

The visit was highly beneficial and enriching for the students. It enhanced their practical knowledge, technological awareness, creativity, and problem-solving skills. The exposure also motivated students to think innovatively and encouraged them to develop technology-driven solutions to address everyday challenges. Overall, the visit successfully bridged the gap between theoretical learning and practical application and provided students with an inspiring learning experience.

Mysuru, 17 August 2026: The Department of Computer Science, MMK & SDM Mahila Mahavidyalaya, Mysuru, inaugurated ANVESHANA – Tech Amateur IT Club 2026  on  on 17th August 2026  at the college auditorium. A total of 260 BCA students participated in the programme.

The programme was inaugurated by Dr. H. R. Chennamma, Professor, Department of Computer Applications, JSS Science and Technology University, Mysuru. In her inaugural address, she encouraged students to identify real-world problems, think creatively and develop innovative technology-based solutions.

The programme was presided over by Prof. N. Bharathi, Principal, in the presence of Smt. K. S. Sukrutha, Head and Associate Professor of Computer Science, and Ms. Sowmya N. and Smt. Kavya S. N., IT Club Coordinators and Assistant Professors of Computer Science.

The programme commenced with the lighting of the lamp, followed by the launch of the ANVESHANA – Tech Amateur IT Club logo and the introduction of the newly elected office bearers through a badge and sash presentation. The 30th edition of the department’s GI TALK newsletter was also released on the occasion.

The highlight of the programme was a guest lecture on Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) by Dr. H. R. Chennamma. She explained concepts such as invention, innovation, patents, novelty, inventive step and industrial applicability, and highlighted the importance of protecting and commercializing innovative ideas.

The programme inspired students to explore new ideas, identify real-world challenges and apply their technical knowledge to develop meaningful and innovative solutions.

The Tech Amateur IT Club of the Department of Computer Science, MMK & SDM Mahila Mahavidyalaya, organized an IT Quiz Competition(Online) for BCA and B.Sc. Computer Science students on 18 August 2026.

The competition aimed to enhance students’ knowledge of Information Technology concepts, emerging technologies, digital tools and current IT trends. It provided an opportunity for students to test and strengthen their understanding of computer fundamentals, programming, networking and digital innovations.

A total of 65 students actively participated in the competition. The event was coordinated by Smt. Rajitha V., Associate Professor.The competition was an enriching learning experience that encouraged students to broaden their IT knowledge and stay updated with the latest developments in technology.

The Department of Commerce and Management, in association with the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC), and in collaboration with the Commerce Club Vijayarth and Management Club Shikhar, organised a vibrant carnival titled “Trade Sphere” on 18 August 2026 at the college campus from 10:00 a.m. onwards.

The programme was inaugurated in the presence of Ms. Chaitra S., Founder and Chief Operating Officer, Yummy’s Junction, who was the Chief Guest and Judge. Smt. Shobha S. P., Principal, SDM & MMK Girls PU College  graced the occasion as the Guest of Honour and Judge. Prof. N. Bharathi, Principal, MMK & SDM Mahila Mahavidyalaya, Mysuru, presided over the programme and served as a Judge.

The event was conducted under the guidance and support of Mr. Prashant Jain H. V., HOD of Commerce; Mr. Shivabeerappa M., HOD of Business Administration; Mr. Syed Sadath, Coordinator of Commerce Club; and Smt. Hajra Begum, Coordinator of Management Club.

The carnival witnessed enthusiastic participation, with 29 stalls involving 116 students. The stalls featured a wide variety of food items, handmade accessories, games and other engaging activities, along with a lively dance performance. The campus was transformed into a vibrant space of creativity, enterprise and student interaction.

The Carnival provided students with valuable hands-on learning experiences in entrepreneurship, budgeting, sales management, customer interaction, marketing, teamwork, communication, creativity, coordination and event management. It enabled students to apply classroom concepts in a practical environment while developing their entrepreneurial abilities and confidence.The Commerce Club office bearersplayed an active role in the successful conduct of the event.

The MMK & SDM MMV Library, Mysuru, organized a Book Exhibition on 13th August 2026 to commemorate the birth anniversary of Dr. S. R. Ranganathan, the Father of Library Science. The day is also celebrated as National Librarians’ Day in India.

The exhibition featured a collection of books useful for students preparing for various competitive examinations. The initiative aimed to create awareness among students about the availability of relevant study materials and encourage them to make effective use of library resources.

A total of 142 students and 8 faculty members visited the exhibition and benefited from the displayed resources.

The Department of Computer Science in association with IPCS Global, Mysore and the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC), organized an insightful session on “Data Storytelling with Power BI & AI” on 08 August 2026. The programme was organized for the students of III BCA 'A' and 'B'  with 87 students benefiting from the session.

The session aimed to introduce students to the emerging concept of Data Storytelling and demonstrate how Power BI and Artificial Intelligence (AI) can be effectively used to transform raw data into meaningful visual insights. It focused on developing students’ competencies in data analysis, visualization, interpretation, and effective communication of information through compelling data-driven narratives.

The session was conducted by Ms. Chandana, Ms. Sneha, and Mr. Rohit from IPCS Global, Mysore. Through practical demonstrations and interactive learning, the resource persons familiarized students with techniques for converting complex datasets into meaningful visualizations and interactive dashboards using Power BI. The role of Artificial Intelligence in data analysis, insight generation, and storytelling was also highlighted, helping students understand the growing significance of AI-powered data analytics.

The programme provided students with valuable hands-on exposure to contemporary data visualization practices and encouraged them to look beyond numbers and understand the stories hidden within data. The interactive approach enabled students to appreciate how well-designed visualizations can simplify complex information, reveal patterns and trends and support informed decision-making.

The session successfully enhanced the students’ knowledge and practical understanding of Power BI, Artificial Intelligence and Data Storytelling. It equipped them with the ability to analyse data, create effective visualizations, identify meaningful insights, and communicate findings in a clear and engaging manner. The programme thus contributed to strengthening the students’ industry-relevant digital and analytical skills and preparing them for the evolving demands of the data-driven technology landscape.

Mysuru, August 15, 2026: MMK & SDM Mahila Mahavidyalaya and MMK & SDM Girls PU College jointly celebrated the 80th Independence Day with patriotic fervour and enthusiasm.

The programme was presided over by Smt. Shobha S. P., Principal, MMK & SDM Girls PU College, with Prof. Bharathi N., Principal, MMK & SDM Mahila Mahavidyalaya, as Guest of Honour. Shri S. Basappa, Retired Army Officer, was the Chief Guest and hoisted the National Flag, followed by the National Anthem and distribution of sweets.

In his address, Shri Basappa highlighted the importance of education, technological advancement, patriotism and youth participation in nation-building. He also spoke about India's defence capabilities, cultural heritage and the duties and responsibilities of citizens.

Smt. Shobha S. P. urged everyone to preserve the nation's culture and fulfil their responsibilities towards the country. The programme was coordinated  with the support of Smt. Jyothilakshmi G. Kava, Smt. Asha N. S. and Smt. Malathi and other faculties.

Students from both institutions presented patriotic songs, dances and recitations, adding vibrancy to the celebration and fostering a spirit of national pride, unity and civic responsibility.

The Home Management Committee of MMK & SDM Mahila Mahavidyalaya, Krishnamurthypuram, Mysuru, organized a Session on “Students’ Psychological Issues and Addiction” on 8 August 2026  in the College Auditorium for all second-year students. The session aimed to create awareness among students about psychological well-being, common psychological issues, and the harmful effects of addiction.

Mr. Chandrashekar S., Head, Public Relations, Prerana Hospital, Kuvempunagar, Mysore, delivered the session as the Resource Person. He spoke about the psychological challenges faced by students, causes and consequences of addiction, its impact on mental and emotional well-being, and the importance of seeking timely guidance and support. He encouraged students to adopt healthy habits, make responsible choices, and develop positive ways of coping with stress and personal challenges.

Presiding over the programme, Prof. N. Bharathi, Principal, emphasized the importance of maintaining good psychological health and developing a balanced and healthy lifestyle. Smt. K. S. Dr. Vinoda, HOD, Department of Kannada, a Resource Person delivered the session and shared valuable insights on the importance of family relationships, moral values, mutual understanding, respect, and positive values in building a happy family and balanced life. The session encouraged students to understand the significance of values in their personal, family, and social lives.

The NSS Unit of SDM & MMK Mahila Mahavidyalaya (MMV), Mysuru, deputed six NSS volunteers to participate in the Prime Minister's Virtual Interaction and Nationwide Pledge Programme held at Basudev Somani First Grade College, Mysuru, under the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan. The programme aimed to create awareness among youth about the prevention of substance abuse and encourage their active role in nation-building.

The programme began with the live virtual interaction of the Hon'ble Prime Minister, Mr. Narendra Modi, followed by the Nationwide Pledge, during which participants reaffirmed their commitment to spreading awareness about the harmful effects of drug abuse and promoting a healthy, responsible society. The event highlighted the importance of youth participation in social awareness and community development.

The Department of Commerce and Management of MMK & SDM Mahila Mahavidyalaya, Mysuru, inaugurated the Commerce Club "Vijayartha" and Management Club "Shikhar" on 4th August 2026 with the objective of promoting practical learning, leadership, and professional development among students.

The programme was inaugurated by Dr. Shivashankar B., Chief Executive, SJCE-STEP, JSS Science and Technology University, Mysuru, who graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. In his inaugural address, he emphasized the importance of innovation, entrepreneurship, and industry-oriented learning in shaping successful careers. He encouraged students to actively participate in club activities to enhance their knowledge, leadership qualities, and employability skills.

The clubs have been established to provide a platform for students to develop their knowledge and skills in commerce, business, and management through competitions, interactive sessions, workshops, and other academic activities. The Staff Welfare Committee of MMK & SDM Mahila Mahavidyalaya, Mysuru, organized an orientation programme on the effective usage of the newly procured Smart Board for the teaching faculty on 5 August 2026.

Mr. Muhammed Athar, Trainer, Senses Electronics, Bengaluru, demonstrated the features and operation of the Senses Interactive Smart Board. He highlighted its advanced features, including 4K Ultra HD resolution, multi-touch capability supporting up to 40 touch points, dual operating systems (Android and Windows via OPS), and AI-powered teaching tools such as SenseBoard, handwriting-to-text conversion, shape recognition, problem-solving, and AI Pen.

The session enabled faculty members to gain hands-on experience and familiarize themselves with the board's AI-enabled features, enhancing the integration of technology into classroom teaching.

The Literary Committee of MMK & SDM Mahila Mahavidyalaya, Krishnamurthypuram, Mysuru, organized the Wall Magazine Inauguration Ceremony on 4 August 2026, providing students with a vibrant platform to showcase their literary and creative talents.

The programme commenced with the traditional lighting of the lamp, followed by the inauguration of the Wall Magazines prepared by various academic departments. The initiative aimed to encourage students to express their creativity through writing, art, and innovative ideas.

Dr. Soumya A., Associate Professor, Department of English, D. Devaraj Urs Government First Grade College, Hunsur, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. Delivering a thought-provoking address on "Why Women Should Write," she highlighted the significance of writing as a powerful medium for women to express their thoughts, emotions, experiences, and aspirations. She encouraged students to write confidently and emphasized that Wall Magazines foster creativity, critical thinking, reading habits, and research aptitude.

Presiding over the programme, Prof. N. Bharathi, Principal, emphasized the importance of balancing academics with literary, artistic, and cultural activities for the holistic development of students. Smt. K. S. Sukrutha, IQAC Coordinator, motivated the students to actively participate in such initiatives, noting that they enhance creativity, communication skills, and effective writing.

The Wall Magazines featured articles, poems, essays, paintings, scientific information, social awareness themes, and literary works in Kannada, Sanskrit, and English. The exhibition reflected the creativity, imagination, and intellectual potential of the students and received appreciation from faculty members and students alike.

Mysuru, August 5, 2026: The Department of Biochemistry, MMK & SDM Mahila Mahavidyalaya, Mysuru, organized an institutional visit to the Regional Forensic Science Laboratory (RFSL), Mysuru, for final-year BMBT students on 5 August 2026. The visit aimed to provide students with practical exposure to forensic science and its real-world applications.

The visit was coordinated by Dr. Meghana M., Head and Assistant Professor, Department of Biochemistry, and co-coordinated by Ms. Kanthashree B. L., Assistant Professor. Dr. Pradeep, Scientific Officer, introduced the students to the functioning of the laboratory and guided them throughout the visit.

During the visit, students explored the Biology, Toxicology, Documentation, and Psychology divisions. Dr. Shashikumar explained forensic sample collection and biological examinations in criminal investigations. Dr. Manjunath demonstrated toxicological analysis using HPLC and Mass Spectrometry and showcased visceral organ specimens used for forensic examination. Dr. Anil Kumar explained forensic document analysis, including forged signatures and damaged documents, while Ms. Mercy Jabirani highlighted the role of forensic psychology in understanding victim and suspect behaviour during investigations.

The institutional visit provided students with valuable practical exposure to modern forensic science techniques and strengthened their understanding of their applications in criminal investigations.

The Parent-Teacher Association (PTA) of MMK & SDM Mahila Mahavidyalaya conducted the election of PTA Office Bearers for the Academic Year 2026–27 on 1st August 2026 in the Seminar Hall.

The election process was witnessed by Prof. N. Bharathi, Principal, Smt. K. S. Sukrutha, IQAC Coordinator, Dr. Harshitha Mallik, PTA Coordinator, Heads of various Departments, PTA Committee members, and parents.

The newly elected office bearers are Smt. Anju Jain (Mother of Kesar, III BBA) as President, Smt. Anusha Rao (Mother of Diwija Bharadwaj, II B.Com.) as Vice-President, Sri Chandru (Father of Ranjitha, III B.Sc.) as Secretary, and Smt. Shobha (Mother of Moulya, I BBA) and Smt. Anitha (Mother of Suneha, I BCA) as Joint Secretaries.

Congratulating the newly elected office bearers, Prof. N. Bharathi, Principal, extended her best wishes and expressed confidence that the newly constituted PTA team would work collaboratively to strengthen the partnership between parents and the institution for the holistic development of students during the Academic Year 2026–27.
