The Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) meeting of MMK and SDM Mahila Mahavidyalaya was held on 28th June 2025, under the chairmanship of Prof. N. Bharathi, Principal. The meeting focused on seeking approval for various proposed activities for the odd semester of the academic year 2025–26.
The meeting was graced by the presence of esteemed external members, Dr. B.H. Suresh, Retired Professor of Commerce, University of Mysore, Prof. H. S. Nagendraswamy, DOS in Computer Science, Manasagangothri, Smt. Smitha Devaiah, Advocate, Smt. Poojana Sreenivasa, Manager – HR, Maveric Systems Limited, Bengaluru, Sri Parameshwara H.M., President, Parent-Teacher Association, Dr. M. K. Usha, President, Alumni Association and Miss Thashvi Gangamma K.C., President, Student Council of the college.
The session commenced with Smt. K.S. Sukrutha, IQAC Coordinator, presenting the minutes of the previous meeting along with the Action Taken Report (ATR). Following this, Prof. N. Bharathi shared a detailed overview of the activities and achievements of the even semester of the academic year 2024–25.
The contributions of both staff and students during the semester were commended by the members, who also offered valuable feedback and suggestions to further enhance the quality standards of the institution. The meeting proceedings included, Welcome address by Smt. Ramya S.K., Associate Professor of Computer Science, Vote of thanks by Smt. Atiya Sameen M.P., Head, Department of Microbiology, Master of Ceremony: Smt. Brunda R., Head, Department of English.
On 9th June 2025, 19 students from I B.Sc (PCM) successfully completed an Add-on Course titled "Programming Skills Using C++", organized by the Department of Computer Science and conducted by Smt. Ramya S K, Assistant Professor of CS. This course was designed to equip students with foundational and advanced programming concepts using C++, one of the most powerful and versatile programming languages in the software industry. Through this hands-on learning experience, participants not only developed logical thinking and problem-solving abilities but also gained practical exposure to object-oriented programming—a vital asset in today’s tech-driven world.
The Orientation Programme for Freshers was held on 30th June 2025 at MMK and SDM MMV, Mysore, organized by the Student Welfare Committee under the guidance of Smt. Jyotilakshmi G. Kava. The event began with a ceremonial diya lighting by key faculty members, including Principal Prof. Bharathi N and others.
The programme aimed to welcome new students and familiarize them with campus life and academic expectations. Key sessions included an introduction to the SDM institute’s mission and best practices by IQAC Coordinator Smt. Sukrutha K. S., guidance on college rules by Dr. Vinoda, Cultural committee coordinator, an overview of sports and co-curricular activities by Smt. Malathi, Physical education director, and a detailed explanation of library facilities by Librarian Smt. Padma B. S.
Prof. Bharathi N, principal of the degree college, inspired attendees by emphasizing the power of dreams leading to thought, action, and character. She encouraged students to set clear goals, work diligently, and make the most of the opportunities available through active participation in SDM College committees. Highlighting the college as an ideal platform for holistic development, she praised its supportive environment. The event was attended by all department heads and staff members.
On June 5, 2025, MMK and SDM Mahila Mahavidyalaya marked World Environment Day with a special event organized by the Science and Nature Club. The occasion was presided over by Principal Prof. N. Bharathi.
Faculty members, including Sukrutha K S, IQAC Coordinator, and Pavithra V, Science and Nature Club Coordinator, actively contributed to the celebration, making it a meaningful and memorable initiative for environmental awareness.
As part of the event, students enthusiastically designed banners and posters emphasizing the significance of environmental protection. Their creative displays reflected a strong commitment to reducing pollution and safeguarding nature. This interactive activity not only fostered awareness but also encouraged students to take responsibility for environmental conservation efforts.
