The subject of my work is a lion, a deer and a dinosaur. The work was made with fine-point pen and colored pencil. It was created on cardboard. I chose to create this because I've never drawn on cardboard before, and honestly, I love it. We were supposed to zoom in in a certain part of the body, and the most fun part is usually the head. So, not only had I done the heads, but I did their feet as well, as if they are popping out of the portals. When I saw the animals, I couldn't decide which one to do. So I did all of them.. I used shape, color, form, and space in the piece.
I was going to originally just do the deer by itself. But I saw the lion and the dinosaur and I couldn't decide. So, I only chose them all. The hardest part about this was making the color pop out from something like cardboard. I had to draw a lot more harder than I am used to. Fine-point pen was easy to show.
There was no meaning behind this piece, though you could look at this and think it is animals coming and going out of portals. Or perhaps the dripping of different colors could represent blood and animal cruelty? Who knows? People think about art in many different ways. Anyone can take this anyway they want to.
