The subject of my work is a devil holding onto balloons. The work was made with fine-point pen. I chose to create this because I really like to make different types of characters. When I saw the ink splotch, I thought it looked like balloons. I used shape, color, form, and space in the piece.
For this project, we had to take a "mistake" (a splotch of paint) an create something out of it.
I was going with a boy hanging from a balloon, but then it took a... dark turn? I'm not really proud about the way I colored in the lines. It makes the line-art harder to see :(. The line-art was my favorite part.
The meaning, to me, behind this piece is that some people belong where they already are. Whether or not you don't want to be there, sometimes it is your destiny, whether or not it is bad. Though people think about art in many different ways. Anyone can take this anyway they want to.
