Sculpture 2

The subject of my work is a Zombie Cat. The setting is a grave. The work was made with needle felting (wool) and paper. I chose to create this because I wanted to needle felt something for this class, I wanted to make my cats, but I didn't have the right colors at the time. So I made a Zombie cat because I had green. The work is arranged from paper, from wool to felting. I used shape, color, form, texture and space in the piece.

I wanted to felt my cats, but I didn't have the correct colors. I didn't have enough, so I just changed my idea but still kept the idea of a cat.

The meaning behind this is my cat from years ago who passed away from fip disease. Sometimes I imagine my cat decaying, so I guess you could say I vented it onto this piece? (But I'm fine, don't worry haha.) I have a very crazy mind, and I usually throw my thoughts and feelings into my work.
