Beautiful Oops

For this assignment, we had to create our own piece of artwork using a paper that was previously splattered with black ink. The subject of my creation was a angler fish. I created this drawing by connecting some of the splatters of ink with lines and created the outline of the fish with red colored pencil. I then proceeded to draw in the light thingy-ma-bobber on his head and the fins on the side. In this assignment, I used line, shape and color to create pattern and contrast. I didn't really revise my work other than going back in with colors to put more emphasis on the piece. I am proud that I managed to create SOMETHING out of the ink splatters because they weren't very uniform and they were are very far from one another. I did struggle at first with coming up with something to make because the ink made a very hard design. If I had the chance do revise this artwork, I would maybe put more objects surrounding the fish, for example, blue water, other fish, and maybe some seaweed at the bottom.
