Midterm Project

For our final project in 2D design, we were given a sheet of watercolor paper with a grid of circles printed on it. We had 60 minutes to make our piece including the circles. I decided to make my subject a bouquet of flowers hidden behind the circles. I cut off two rows of circles and sketched my bouquet. I then went over it with a thin, black pen and erased the pencil marks. To add color to my piece, I used watercolors paints to fill in the flowers, some more opaque than other. I am very happy with how my midterm project turned out because it shows my style as an artist. I love doing painting with flowers, especially when I use the combination of thing pen and watercolor. If I could change anything about my midterm project, I would s maybe make some flowers and stems break he border of the circles, rather than just all behind them. I think I will end up changing that so that my piece has more dimension and interesting parts. Overall, I am very happy with my midterm project.
