For this assignment, we were given a piece of paper that had a dried ink splatter on it and we were asked to create a piece of art incorporating the ink drop rather than masking it. My immediate thought was that the ink splatter looked like the eyes and mouth of a little monster. But, after giving it more thought, I didn't really want to do that idea, and I realized that the splatter also looked like the center of a flower. So, after deciding to run with that idea, I began to build flower petals around the ink. I traced an entire boquet of flowers and jar in pencil, and followed with tracing it in pen. I used watercolors paints to add color and I added a 2-centimeter border on the paper in pen.
