For your final project, you will create a Google Website that will showcase all the cool stuff you have created in Computer Wheel over the last six weeks!!
You must use your PUSD GMAIL account to create and host the website. Follow the process below.
YOU CAN USE THE "CLASSROOM" FOLDER THAT IS AUTOMATICALLY CREATED BY GOOGLE CLASSROOM FOR YOU WEBSITE FILES - ALL PROJECTS THAT YOU TURNED IN WILL BE IN THERE!!
Website Content: 6 Page Site!!
Here is the list of what pages you need and what should be on each page of your website:
Process Overview
1. Organize your files and decide what you want to upload to be displayed on your technology website:
2. Go to your Google Drive and create a new folder called Website or Webby
(You can also use the Class folder that was created by Google Classroom to provide the content for your website.... Look inside the "Classroom" folder in your Google Drive and find the folder for this class)
SHARING: set the Sharing permissions on the NEW FOLDER to "anyone with the link can view"... then all of the items in the folder will be available on your new website.
Anyone with link can view..
CLICK THE ADVANCE BUTTON YOU SEE IN THE IMAGE ABOVE AND THE SHARING CHOICES WILL MAKE MORE SENSE
3. Upload files, pictures, songs etc to the new folder in your Google Drive
(this makes it easy to add files to your website, and if you don't finish you can work from home:)
CREATING YOUR WEBSITE
Use a basic design to get started, you can always change the look & theme later when you have more time.
Embedding Videos and Other Files From your Google Drive In Your Google Site
Before you start adding files, videos, pictures to your site - you should start by creating a Folder in your Google Drive as a place to keep all these website "assets". (see instructions above).
Not only will it make updating your site easier, it will provide a backup if your site gets deleted or corrupted. (don't forget to set the "sharing" on the folder correctly, see below)
Follow this process:
On your Google Webpage
Getting your songs on your site...
In your GOOGLE DRIVE website folder, MAKE ANOTHER FOLDER for just your songs.
Drag the songs from iTunes to you desktop and then UPLOAD THEM TO THIS FOLDER in your DRIVE
On your WEBSITE, choose INSERT>DRIVE>FOLDER, and select the entire folder (see image)
Hit SAVE - on the page and YOUR SONGS will appear like this on your website!!
