Use your LaunchPad to find the Motion FX app and drag it to your dock. Spend some time investigating the various setting and effect possible - they are pretty amazing.
Once you have some time to get acquainted with the App, now test out the following features:
(both pictures and video are saved in the Movie folder on your computer, in a new folder called Motion FX.. there is also a button called "Reveal Movies" to help find them)
TRY RECORDING A FEW PRACTICE MOVIES WITH YOUR EFFECT..
1. Take a Snap Shot
2. Take A Movie (keep it short < 30 seconds)
Some Ideas:
The hardest part is coming up with some cool, creative idea. Here are some things
that students have done in the past if you are stuck... but put your own creative spin
on it.... or even better come up with something totally different!
KEEP IN MIND YOU ARE NOT SPEAKING IN THE VIDEO,JUST ACTING, THERE IS TOO MUCH NOISE IN THE CLASSROOM TO RECORD VOICES
1. Time Traveler - use of different backgrounds
2. Not So Magic Mirror - face distort effect
3. Magic Disappearing Kid or changing kid
4. Anything with Fire :)
5. Commercial: for example anti-smoking/vaping campaign, picante hot sauce
6. Wizard, Sorcerer, Witch
Note: Stay away from Blue and Green smoke, effects etc.. as the will not show up on the Green Screen
Getting Started
1. Find the Background Picture for your Idea on Google Images and drag it to your desktop
2. Practice your Motion FX plan
3. Film your idea in Motion FX with the GREEN SCREEN
4. Go to the "Reveal Movies" folder, find your video and drag that on to the desktop so you can easily find it.
Putting it all together in using "WeVideo"
You guys all have access to WeVideo thru PUSD and you Google PUSD Gmail
Follow these steps below "IN ORDER" and you will be amazed at how EZ it will be for you to produce high quality Green Screen videos. Here is a sample Green Screen Video Demo with moving background :) Do you recognize the actor??
1. STEP ONE: Sign in to "WeVideo" and choose "SignUp", use your PUSD GMAIL to login and create an account
Go to www.wevideo.com and choose LOGIN with GOOGLE
2. Start A Project
Once in your Dashboard, start a new project by clicking the big "+" sign.
3. Import your Files: Your Video with the Green Background and Your Background image.
Click on the FOLDER with the STAR, then the GREEN UPLOAD button:
Now you can DRAG or BROWSE your computer for the files you need.
1. Your Motion FX video with the GREEN SCREEN in the background
2. Your BACKGROUND picture for the web.
**you can also use videos for backgrounds, check out what they already offer in WeVideo, maybe it will match your special effect plan**
4. Turn on the GreenScreen Effect
Place GREEN SCREEN video on TOP of your BACK-GROUND picture (see below)
NOW DOUBLE CLICK on your Green Screen Video and this window will pop open!!
CLICK ON THE BUTTON THAS HAS A PICTURE OF A PERSON'S HEAD.
TAKE the COLOR DROPPER and click on the GREEN COLOR in the DISPLAY window to the right, this will sample the color for the GREEN SCREEN.
CLICK "DONE EDITING"
5. Add Some Back Ground Music in the AUDIO TRACK
look around in WeVideo they have all sorts of cool music.
Adjust/EDIT the clips so they are all the same length
6. FINISH Your Movie
Almost Done! Click Finish, choose the highest resolution (HD) and the final processing with start.
When it is complete you will be able to watch or video and DOWNLOAD to your computer, then you can move it to your Google Drive. WeVideo will also send you an email link to the Video!!

Putting it all together in iMovie
Drag your Background First!!!
Then Your Green Screen Movie On Top!!!
Follow These Steps in iMovie
1. Find your picture on Google Images and Drag to desktop
2. Open new "movie" in iMovie (no theme)
3. Drag your PICTURE into iMovie first!!!!
4. Film your self in Motion FX
(Have a friend hold the green screen)
5. Drag the video on top of the background picture
6. Select the video and "turn on the green screen effect"
7. Remove the Classroom noise.
Under the video is the soundwave
(the background classroom noise) -
reduce the soundwave line to "0%"
8. Add some back gound music..... (keep it low)
look for "sound effects" in iMovie then choose the "jingles" folder...drag down a sound you like. You can trim the length by dragging the sound file right to left.
8.Click "share" to "file"
9. Choose a location (like the Desktop) and create your movie. Do Not Close iMovie Until Process Complete
10. Go watch it!!
MOTION FX to iMOVIE: STEP BY STEP
Using Green Screen
The best order to use for a successful project is this:
1. Look around for some image background and have an IDEA
2. Download the background and import to iMovie
3. Create your "Green Screen" movie in Motion FX
4. Import your Motion FX movie to iMovie
Remember in your project the BackGround goes FIRST,
the GREEN ON TOP
It is possible to use video and your "background" rather than a picture, these are often called "looping background" and can be found online..

Every good movie clip needs some sound effect or mood music.
