To create the brace you will be combing shapes in your SKETCH.
1. Select "New" standart part .ipt
2 Start with a 2d Sketch like usual and create a rectangle that matches the measurements you already took of the brace and recorded in your Engineering Notebook
(remember you can type in the exact measurements while creating the rectangle sketch)
3. You will be adding a new shape "3-point arc" to the top of the rectangle to crate the curved end of the brace, THEN you will TRIM or cut the top horizontal line of the rectangle out of your sketch. (when using the thee point ARC tool, just click on each corner of the rectangle for points1 and points2 - then just raise you mouse and the ARC will be created. When the ARC is the correct distance small dots will appear. CONTROL CLICK - OK to approve the ARC
4. Now use the TRIM tool to erase the top horizontal line of the rectangle.
(note: if you have Dimensions/Measurements appearing in your sketch, you may need to delete those before trimming... do this in SKETCH mode)
Your sketch will look like this. Notice the top is the "Arc" and the horizontal line of the rectangle has been removed.
5. Now ADD A NEW SKETCH to the top of the BRACE and use the POINT tool to create the points to drill your holes, you will be provided measure guidelines between the points to position them according to your measurements of the brace. (you may need to measure the actual brace again to be accurate to the center of the hole)
6. OK the sketch - FINISH 2D Sketch!
7. Use the HOLE feature to drill the holes. Use the correct diameter and drill "through all".
8. Go to "Materials" and choose the correct wood finish and you are done.
