In this activity, you will create a cool "drone-like" virtual video tour of the two-story interior that you just created.
There are a few parts to the project, so be sure to read all the instructions AND watch the short videos before you start so you don't get lost:)
1. SketchUp Walk -Tool
2. Screen Recording in WeVideo
3. Final Editing in We Video
Before you are ready to film, you should add some exterior side walls to your "interior box" to make it more realistic once you are inside, maybe add a door if you like, or you can just fly through the window (see video on how to do that)
You also will have to practice a few times with the Walk Tool before you video, it can be a bit trick - but once you get the hang of it you will be fine. Your video gaming experience will now pay off!!
You will be "screen recording" using WeVideo
(see instructions on that below if you don't know how to screen record)
YOU ARE FILMING YOUR
"INTERIOR DESIGN PROJECT"
Here is an example from last year to check out
Process:
1. First watch this Tutorial Video on the "Walk" tool. Pay attention to the key board shortcuts, they help a lot. Also you can use the "look around" tool to help you navigate and change your position within a room.
You will have to practice droning thru your interior a few times before attempting to screen record in We Video. (see instruction below)

Screen Record: WeVideo
You will be screen recording in WeVideo while you are "walking" thru your house. This will take a few practice runs to get it down, but a good skill to learn during remote learning. So do some short test before you start, so you don't walk thru the entire house only to find you were not recording!!
Here is a video to watch on how to Screen Record in We Video
Watch This Video - See Tips Below
Other WeVideo RecordingTips
You have Start A New Project in WeVideo like we always do
Click on the MyMedia tab to display the "record" option
When being asked what to share/record - choose Chrome Tab and then select the "SketchUp" tab you have for your interior design.
To the STOP RECORD/SHARING button or the red dot on the WeVideo TAB
The video will now load into YOUR MEDIA in WeVideo
Editing in We Video & Final Steps
1.Create an Intro and Outro Title Slide from WeVideo
Intro Title: Make up some clever name for your Realty Company that has virtual tours of houses....
Outro Title: Basically a "Thanks For Watching" slide at the end
2. Add some complimentary background music from WeVideo
3. "FINISH" to HD quality and DOWNLOAD the completed video
4. Attach the final video file to Google Classroom.
I WANT A MOVIE FILE ATTACHED TO GOOGLE CLASSROOM - NO LINKS TO WEVIDEO OR GOOGLE DRIVE
Here is a sample of a house tour with a good music choice!
Note this project lost points for not following the directions and including the Intro title slide and ending credits :)
