For this easy and fun introduction activity, you will use an online app to "Cartoonize" yourself.
You will then do the following with the new Cartoon image of you:
Drag into a new Google slide, answer a few questions and turn into Google Classroom (see questions below)
Then download just the Cartoon Slide as a JPEG file (like you did on the Hydro=flask project - and email to YOUR PARENTS as a surprise!!
Choose a "Cartoon App" to use from the list below, or you can use one that you are more familiar. Don't pay $$ for anything, just use free stuff, or you can take a screen shot at some point in the process to get your image (that is what I did). Here is how to take screen shots on Chromebooks
I used Cartoonize.net from this list, but you can test a few out and find one you like and creates the best image :)
Click here to get a list of Cartoon Apps
Take a picture of yourself on your laptop/Chromebook to upload to the site.
Chromebooks use the Camera App
MAC you can use PhotoBooth
NOTE: Go outside, find a place with good lighting to spread out and take a picture without your mask :)
3.Use the site you chose special effects to make yourself a cartoon, take some time figuring out how to do this.
4.Snag a Screen shot of your image, you can try to "Save" or "Download" image first, but often you they want you to pay.

Now start a new Google Slides Doc in your Drive (Put your NAME on the file - "untitled" will not be accepted"
Drag or insert your cartoon image to the FIRST SLIDE in the Slides Doc - resize to fill the page.. ADD YOUR NAME to the slide
Insert a new slide and answer these three questions:
Tell me something about yourself (interests, hobbies, former career as a rodeo clown etc...)
What is something you hope to learn about this semester
What are you most excited about this year (can be about school, outside hobbies, life in general :)

Now you are ready to turn your slides into Google Classroom, make sure your picture/name is the first slide and file is correctly named.
Go to the Google Classroom project and "ADD" your Slide from Google Classroom
Use the File>> Download>>JPEG option to create an image file of the first slide and email to your parents - they will like this!!
