Roman Musical Scavenger Hunt
To start off the Rome Unit, you will going on a Musical Scavenger Hunt. You will listen and watch a music video on Rome. You will choose 10 topics that appear in the video and then create a collage type presentation to define these terms/topics.
The Process
1. First flip through the TextBook Chapters 9 and Chapters 10 - have a look at the "big picture" to see what is covered.
2. Now watch the music video carefully and select what appear to be important terms or topics - write them down, you will need 10 terms or concepts. You will find overlap in concepts, people, places, things etc.. from your Textbook review, so use those for sure.
3. Research the topics USING THE TEXTBOOK as your PRIMARY source.
2. Write down some facts about the topic you chose and create some imagery or symbol that will help you remember the topic.
**note: assume TWO SLIDES or PAGES with 5 terms per slide***

Your GUIDE TO ANCIENT ROME will double as a study guide for the Knowledge Checks, so
the main goal is to include information that you know will HELP YOU answer questions on
a knowledge check.....so spend time doing a quality job NOW, so things are easy later.
Examples:
Not very helpful: "Ancient Italy was surrounded by water"
Very Helpful: " Ancient Italy was surrounded by the Adriatic, Tyrrhenian and Mediterranean Seas"
At this point in the year, you should be able to anticipate what knowledge
is expected when we study new Civilizations - the categories/themes are always
the same.
Here is a presentation with the project requirements and info
that we have already covered and discussed in class:
