This a new animation program that you guy will be testing out.
You are probably familiar with Flip Boom Doodle from the good old days of 6th grade wheel -
This is the next level up.
The concepts will be similar, but you will have to deal with more advanced animation concepts like frames and layers.

Read the instructions for each project FIRST - then go to the guide for help. You will need to turn your work in to Google Classroom.

PROJECTS TO TURN IN
#1) The Bear, a Bird and a Worker..
(save your characters to a Library Collection for future use)
#2) Human Cartoon Characters: Draw these three
(save your characters to a Library Collection for future use)
#3) Library Characters
create THREE custom characters, be sure to recolor and distort features to give them personality (see the guide for tips)
#4) Using "Draw Behind" (page 69)
Draw the character below and add shading
#5) The Hairy Movie
Draw the character you seen in the instructions and then maker her hair grow!!
You will "export" to QuickTime then turn in to Google Classroom

#6) Animated Greeting Card
Have a read through "Animating Letters" starting on PAGE 73 and try some of the activities so you have an understanding of how to make letters move, color etc..
Now create a Greeting Card that will have the following:
1. Animated Lettering
2. Confetti that moves'
3. Some image (cake, candle, flowers, firecracker etc...)
You don't have to do Happy Birthday... but it needs to be a real animated Greeting Card:

* Congrats to a High School Graduate
* Happy 4th of July
* Happy Summer
#7) The Orbiting Moons
For this activity - follow the suggestions on page 88 in your guide. Your shorts movie will need the following:
Requirements:
1. A colorful main planet
3. At least THREE moons and orbit the planet, going in front and behind the planet
4. A starry background, with twinkling stars.
Publish to QuickTime then turn in to Google Classroom
#8) Rain & Snow
For this activity, you will create TWO separate short MOVIES. You can find the instructions on page 91/92 of the guide
Be sure to ADD A BACKGROUND to your films, maybe a mountain scene or rainy city.

Turn the movie files in to Google Classroom

#9) Lightning
For this activity, you will create a short movie with a couple lightning bolts that hit something!!
Look on page 101 for the start of the instructions.
Your movie should contain:
1. At least TWO DIFFERENT lightning bolts.
2. A sky or night background
3. Some object that the lightning hits - show the aftermath of the bolt!!!
4. Lighting Crash Sound - (see my "sound effects page")
#10) Walk Cycle
Follow the instructions on page 124 of the guide and create a character to have "walk" across the screen.
Publish to a short movie and turn in to Google Classroom:
Your movie should have the following:
1. A background
2. A character
3. Music
4. Be sure to have your character start OFF the scene and walk COMPLETELY across the background and OFF THE SCREEN again. Allow some slides of the background and the end to loop correctly.
#10) Run Cycle
Now that you understand how to make a character walk, not have a look at the activity on PAGE# 131
and create a new character to run. You short movie will need the following:
Your Movie Needs To Have
1. Two Drawn Characters: One Running and One Chasing
2. You will need to draw different "states" of your characters and save them to the library to make it look like they are running.
3. You need a background
4. Add some music to support the running scene.
TIP: Once you have "sequence" of slides for the running - you can SHIFT-CLICK to copy them all and past them all at once to stretch out the scene to allow the music to play before looping.

Project Proposal Documents
Be sure to READ the project requirements completely first.
Then MAKE A COPY of the PROPOSAL document and fill it out. You need to turn this in to Google Classroom BEFORE you start animating your cartoon.
