Below are links to instructions for creating the parts you will need to build your toys..
Be sure that you are saving ALL your part same the same folder and naming them so you can find them.
Grab an actual toy part and a ruler - so you make them the correct size - you will need to tell the program the "dimensions" or measurements, things in 3D can be vey deceiving!!
Toy Parts
2. The Cube (need 4 colored cubes)
4. The Spacer (need 4 colored spacers)
Assembling Your Parts
Now you will put your "parts" together in a new toy, using an "Assembly" file:
1. Watch tutorial video completely first - (only 4 minutes)
2. Create a new "Assembly" file
3. "Place" your parts in the "Assembly" file
4. Use the necessary "Constraints" to assembly your toy...
Note: If you get an error message of "conflicting" or "too many" constraints, just delete the constraints from the left menu and start again**
Animating Your Assembly
Once you have an assembly file completed you are now ready to "animate" the file with an "explosion" to high light your design work!
1. First you will need to watch BOTH of the short video tutorial son how to make this happen, it is very short but the steps need to be completed in a specific order so, watch it completely once, then refer to it as you attempt to animate your assembly!
[NOTE: The Video Compression Codec changes with versions of Inventor, so follow the pictures below to choose the correct CODEC]

2. You will have to open a NEW FILE type for this, an "Presentation File" then follow the steps in the video....
Here is a demo from last year..
Recording Your Presentation/Movie
At the end of the "Animate Your Assembly" video, the presenter explains how to set up to record your Animation into an .AVI file type movie that you can play on your Mac. Here are the steps to follow, so you can have a cool movie to add to your Digital Portfolio Website.
CLICK THE LITTLE "Target Button" to set up a RECORDING.
1. Change the FILE TYPE to .AVI and put an EASILY RECOGNIZABLE NAME on the file. Be sure to save to your DESKTOP, so you can find it and drag it your you MAC desktop and then add it to your Digital Portfolio.
CLICK THE "Target" Button a Second Time
3. Next you will have to change your encoder to: Microsoft Video 1 and make the Compression 100...[see pic below]
4. Now press the "PLAY" button and your animation will be recorded and a file will be placed on your desktop.
Don't worry if it runs slow while recording, that is normal.
** you may need to do this 2x to get the .AVI file on the desktop to populate**
strange but true....
5. Go to the desktop and drag the new movie file to your MAC desktop.
See if you can open the file with QuickTime, if not see me.

Send Me Your Videos
Record your Animation/Explosion as a WMV file (this is different from what the video tells you).
Then UPLOAD the video to the correct shared folder for your class and I will convert it for you, then you can add it to your website.
Be sure the video file has YOUR NAME on it.
