Loops and Links
After you have completed the research portion of the project and filled out the template provided in Google Drive - you are ready to start gatherin some links and loop to build your sound.
Listening to Your Genre
Here is a cool site where you can listen to all sorts of examples of famous artists in your Genre. You may have to click around a bit, but all the artists have samples you can listen to - this way you have a good feel for the sound you will be creating: (do not spend time on anything that is not school appropriate)

Da Cool Loops
There is a folder on your computer this hundreds of great loops that are ALREADY ORGANIZED BY GENRE - so be sure to spend time listening to them. The path the folder is below...... any loops you want to use can be pulled right into Garage Band... (note: the tempo changes slighty so you may have to adjust that once in Garage Band)
Finding Other Loops
You can also use sound dogs to search for music by genre and style. Look under "production music"
You can also use YouTube as a source for tracks and loops, but do not waste time here. Search for your genre with the words "backing track" and you will find some useful loops. Once you find the track you can use an Mp3 converter to get the sound file: CLICK HERE

Getting Started
If you are new to GarageBand, or need a quick refreshers, watch this quick "Five Things You Need To Know" to get started in Garage Band. There is a link to the video for download if it down not stream correctly
Changing the Tempo of External Tracks
Since this projects has you using loops from a variety of sources, it will be necessary to get all the loop playing at the same tempo. This is tricky, but the magic of electronic mixing.
BE READ TO HAVE TO TEST AND TRY THINGS MULTIPLE TIMES TO GET IT RIGHT
"One and Done" is not going to work, this is the life of a studio technician. Trial and error. Some tracks may just not "fit" so you will have to move on. Fortunately you have lots of sources for new tracks.
