AutoDesk Inventor is a super cool program, but a bit tricky - so expect a bit of a learning curve. Just like anything worth learning, it will just take some patience and perseverance.
It is the same software used in College engineering classes and in the real world to design pretty much anything for production. So basically you are getting a huge head start on your career :)
Inventor runs in Windows. Since we have MAC's we use VM Ware to create a virtual Windows environment to run the software - it works fine, but you will have to follow some SPECIFIC PROCUDURES for Start and Shut down.... and be patient while is getting up and running.
START UP PROCESS (follow in order and be patient)
1. Choose VM Ware from the Dock
2. From the Library "start" Windows8

SHUT DOWN PROCESS (follow in order or the machine will be hung for tomorrow)
1. First Quit AutoDesk Inventor (not windows)
2. Now log yourself out of Windows before you shut Windows down.
3. Next Power Down Windows: You will need to "SHUT DOWN" windows by using the weird hidden window in the lower right corner, choose "Settings" the "Power" to shut down.
3. QUIT VM Ware: Now you will be returned the VM Ware Library Window and can "Quit" VM Ware
