This last project in canvas is going to have THREE distinct parts (see below)
Be sure to READ ALL THESE INSTRUCTIONS before you start and ask me any questions before your start.... saying later "that you didn't know" something that is clearly in the instructions will not work.
Now is your time for questions :)
1. Painting (using Canvas)................................... (You will turn in a JPEG of the artwork this FIRST)
2. Filming/Recording (screen recording using WeVideo)
3. Narrating/Editing (record vocal & add music WeVideo).... (You will then work on editing/narrating the video and turn in SECOND)
You will need an idea for your painting, I would suggest something that is reasonably complex, meaning it has lots of items in the scene. This will allow you differing interesting things to film while you paint.
Assume: about 1 hour of painting/drawing. Your design should take you 45 minutes to 1 hour to complete (not 10 Minutes)
Inspiration: You must have a picture that you used for inspiration AND you will need to turn this in to Google Classroom with your artwork.
Example, a street scene like this has lots of parts to paint. You can search Google for pictures you would like to recreate, here are some more examples
(you cannot use this street scene example)
You will be screen recording in WeVideo while you are painting.
This might take a few practice runs to get it down, but a good skill to learn during remote learning. So do some short testing before you start, so you don't paint the entire project only to realize you were not recording !!
Here is a video to watch on how to Screen Record in We Video
Watch This Video - See Tips Below
You have Start A New Project in WeVideo like we always do
Click on the MyMedia tab to display the "record" option
When being asked what to share/record - choose Chrome Tab and then select the "Canvas" tab you have for your drawing
To the STOP record button in the red dot on the WeVideo TAB
Once your film is complete you will "speed" up the video using the controls in WeVideo.
Do some testing to get a decent speed that is not distracting to your viewer.
Double Click on your Video Track and this Window will pop up - choose Speed and adjust and test your different speeds.
**Mute the volume on the video track** - this will get rid of any breathing, sneezing or if you talk to yourself out loud while creating!!
Now you will record your narration to the video.
Be sure to include the following:
1. Introduce yourself and your topic, what you are going to paint at the beginning.
2. Talk about your inspiration for the painting
3. Describe the "tools" and "settings" you are using at why you are choosing, using them.
4. Give some helpful tips you learned about Canvas, for example using Layers, re-ordering layers, using Opacity etc..you are the now expert.
5. Thank your viewers for watching at the end and invite them to come back again.
6. Play back and listen to your voice, make sure it is loud enough so your viewer can hear you clearly.
If you mess up in parts (which you will), you can "cut" those part out and record just those parts again....this way you don't have to record the whole narration from the start each time.
Add another Audio Track for the new voice recorded parts, then you can easily position them where you want them.
1.Create an Intro and Outro/Exit Title Slide.
Make up some clever company name or name of your artistic session....
(You cannot use "Let's Paint", I took that one) - Make Up Your Own
2. Add some complimentary background music from WeVideo
***We must be able to hear your voice clearly over the background music - so turn it down as needed**
3. FINISH to HD quality and DOWNLOAD the completed video
4. Attach the final video file to Google Classroom.
I WANT A MOVIE FILE ATTACHED TO GOOGLE CLASSROOM - NO LINKS TO WEVIDEO OR GOOGLE DRIVE
This is just a very basic example of what I am looking for. This was just a quick video for example purposes -
YOURS WILL BE MUCH BETTER QUALITY
Here is what you will be turning in to Google Classroom under different two different assignments:
Images
1. Picture you used for inspiration
2. Your completed Canvas drawing
Video
Completed video file attached to Google Classroom (no links to WeVideo or Google Classroom)
Have Fun!!
