We know that many customers value your hard work and want to show their gratitude by giving tips. To stay in line with current tax laws and registration requirements, the following rules apply to tips and gifts as a Driver in Oda:
๐ฐNo cash: We do not allow cash tips. In Norway, all tips must be reported as taxable income. Since we do not have a system to track and process cash payments correctly we cannot accept this.
โป๏ธNo "pant": Pant is also counted as cash, and we therefore can't accept pant as tips from the customer. Collecting bottles as tips is also problematic because it can easily be perceived as stealing from the customer.
๐ซNo alcohol or tobacco: We can not accept as tips:
Wine, beer, or any alcohol
Cigarettes or snus
๐ซSmall treats are good: If a customer wants to give you a little something you can enjoy on the road, thatโs totally fine. Feel free to say yes to:
A coffee, a soda, ice cream, a chocolate bar, or similar smaller treats.
Smaller merch products (pen, reflectors, or similar).
๐ซธHow to turn it down: If someone offers you money, pant, or tobacco or alcohol, just tell them:
"Thatโs really kind of you, but weโre actually not allowed to take tips like pant/money/alcohol. Just happy to help!"
