This is an opportunity to deepen your skills, broaden your knowledge, and explore new ideas - in ways that also align with our company objectives.
Purpose 🎯
Most growth happens in your day-to-day work as you take on challenges and learn by doing. The dedicated time we encourage is simply permission to carve out space within your working week for learning that goes beyond your regular tasks. It’s not always easy to make time, but even small, intentional steps - an hour here and there, or a bigger block when it fits - can make a real difference over time.
We encourage all desk user employees at Oda | Mathem to set aside up to 5% of your time for learning and development activities. This is equivalent to around two hours per week or one day per month, if you work full time.
The process is based on trust and communication. We trust you to use this time wisely, so we don’t count hours or track time spent on these activities.
Find an idea: What are you curious about? What skill would help you and your team? Your Growth conversation is a great place to identify these opportunities.
Chat with your manager: Talk about your idea in your next 1:1. The goal is to align on a plan that supports your growth and our shared goals.
Be flexible: Plan your learning time to fit around your team's goals. You can "bank" your hours for a bigger block of learning time, up to a maximum of 8 hours (one full day). If you have an idea that needs more, just chat with your manager.
When you learn something cool, sharing it helps everyone. We encourage you to spread insights through a quick demo, a “lunch and learn,” or a short post on our internal channels.
