During the first 16 days of your sick leave, you receive your salary as normal from Oda. After that, you'll receive sickness benefit. This can either be paid for in advance by Oda, or directly from NAV.
In order to receive your sickness benefit, you must approve your doctor's notice which you can find in your NAV portal. Follow this link to log in to your portal (requires BankId).
For employees on fixed salary, and employees in Oda Norway on an hourly salary, sickness benefit is paid for in advance, which means that you will receive your full salary when you are sick. For our hourly paid employees in Korn and Netfresh, sickness benefit is paid directly from NAV.
Good to know: When you receive sickness benefit, your pension accrual will continue as normal.

You can receive sickness benefit for up to 52 weeks, regardless of your sick leave percentage. Remember that if you get sickness benefit over several periods, these periods will be added together 3 years back in time, unless you have been working for more than 26 weeks between these periods.
If you have been sick for 52 weeks you will have reached the maximum date for sickness benefits (this is referred to as your max date or maksdato in Norwegian). After your max date, you must work for 26 weeks without sick leave before you are eligible for sickness benefits from NAV. Payroll will contact you and your manager about the exact date you reach your max date.
If you are not ready to come back and work 100% after 52 weeks, without requiring adaptations, Oda will start the process of terminating your employment relationship. The only exception to this is if your doctor and Oda considers that it is realistic that you will be able to return to work without adaptations in the near future.
Before you reach your max date, you and your doctor will have assessed whether you are ready to come back to your role full-time and without adaptations. If it is unrealistic that you will be able to do so, you may be eligible to apply for Work assessment allowance (AAP) which can give you further benefits for up to 3 + 2 years. If you are concerned that your health does not allow you to work 100% and without adaptations, it is important that you start talking to your doctor about AAP at an early stage to avoid a situation where you are not eligible for benefits.
If your health allows you to come back to work after 52 weeks, full time and without adaptations, you must follow the normal routines and rules for sick leave (found here). Please note however that even if you return to work, you will not be eligible for sickness benefits from NAV before you have worked a full 26 weeks without sick leave. This means that you may have to apply for unpaid leave or vacation if you turn ill again. Depending on the situation, Oda will not be obliged to grant unpaid leave if you are unable to do your job due to health reasons.
If you, after 52 weeks, can no longer do the role you are hired for at Oda, but your health allows you to do other roles, you will be assessed for other open roles during the termination process. The People person and your leader will look at open roles at Oda, and assess your qualifications. You will be asked about your qualifications during the process. Any time prior to or after 52 weeks, you should also explore other jobs outside Oda that are better suited to your health and well being.
