Grade/Class: SK
Context: South Campus Gan students celebrate Chanukkah together, and wanted a way to make the celebrations special.
Learning: Gan classes participated in a hands-on activity, helping to build a large wooden model of a chanukia. SK students were involved in the process of measuring and assembling the wooden pieces to form the chanukia, while other gan classes helped to paint and finish it. This activity not only helped them to learn about Chanukkah but also provided them with an opportunity to use tools and learn about measurement. They gained valuable skills such as hand-eye coordination and understanding of basic math concepts such as size, length and width. The students also enjoyed the teamwork and collaboration aspect of the project and the sense of accomplishment they felt upon completing the final model.
