Grade/Class: Nursery
Context: Students learn about Chanukah and celebrate the holiday in their classroom.
Learning: Nursery at the South Campus was extremely busy with all of the Chanukah crafts they created to decorate their classrooms. For this experience, the Nursery children had fun practicing spinning Sevivonim to create their unique designs. Each masterpiece looked different and they will be laminated to use as drip mats for their Chanukiahs. This activity helped the children enhance several skills, including fine motor as the children spun their Sevivonim. They also enhanced their social and cognitive skills as they conversed with their friends as they engaged in the activity and had repeated opportunities to identify the letters on the Sevivon. Much fun was had by all!
