Grade/Class: Grade 4
Context: In Math, students learn about the attributes and properties of two-dimensional shapes.
Learning: As part of a culminating task for our Geometry unit, grade 4 students created incredible shape maps. The goal of this project was to design a town map which included several components they had learned about, such as different kinds of lines, angles, triangles, and quadrilaterals. The students worked in small groups to plan, design, and create these maps with the success criteria outlined. They also came up with a town name and used a compass rose to locate different places on their map, which they learned in Social Studies. The students had so much fun creating these outstanding projects!
