Grade/Class: Grade 2 & Grade 5
Context: Students in grade 5 learn to take more active leadership roles in the school as they prepare for the transition to middle school.
Learning: To kick off the activity, the students in grades 2 and 5 began by reading books that were directly related to the subjects they had been studying in Grade 2. These books covered topics such as the Chagim and Chumash. By selecting books that aligned with their curriculum, we aimed to deepen their understanding and enthusiasm for these subjects.
Following the reading sessions, grade 2 students completed worksheets with the help of their older buddies. The Grade 5 students played a crucial role in guiding and assisting their younger counterparts with the assignments. This partnership not only helped the Grade 2 students with their tasks but also fostered positive mentorship opportunities.
