Context: Students engage in many literacy-focused activities during our annual Snuggle Up and Read evening event.
Learning: This year, our Junior Kindergarten (JK) students created "Movement Books," where they posed in various movements and compiled these photos into personalized storybooks. This dynamic project blended physical activity, creativity, and literacy development, enhancing their gross motor skills, body awareness, and early literacy skills. As students narrated their movements and compiled their stories, they practiced language skills and creative expression. The project also introduced basic digital literacy as they learned to use a camera and select images.
