5 GALLANTRY

ADAM JOHANN POH

This question was really difficult for me to understand, but after doing it using my teacher's technique to solve the question, I was able to solve it and I now know how to do questions similar like this.

How many words can I speak in a minute-Andrew.MOV

ANDREW CONNOR ANTHONY FERNANDES

This Math LWT excercise involved us to do an activity for a minute continuously and calculate the estimated number of times the activity was done. I chose to find out how many words can I speak in a minute as it was a skill I knew I had and was able to do for a minute. I had lots of fun doing the activity and I also found out many new and simpler ways to calculate an estimation.

Annika Aradhana james (Admiraltyps) - How much is a million Singapore dollars?.pdf

ANNIKA ARADHANA JAMES

We did this at the start of the year to see how much one million is. I had lots of fun doing this as I had the freedom to research and have fun imaging what Mr Sam would need.

I most probably could have done better on the Google slides but at the end of the year I am better in Powerpoint slides and Google slides.

BRYAN MIN HAN HTET

This is the LwT where I learned to make a smart guess/estimate to guess how many claps there were in the video. I really like the activity and learn how to make an estimate using rate.

CHARLENE NGUI XUAN NEE

This is a page from my Family Math book showing how a bar of chocolate can turn into one bar of chocolate and another small piece after a series of cut.

CHEERLEY POH

I found this topic interesting as I did not know how to calculate a average in the past. I also learnt how to calculate average faster.

CHEN LE

I learnt how to find the rate of clapping per second, minute and hour. I also learnt how to find the average rate.

CHENG JINGXIANG

I chose this photo as I learnt

how to answer repeated

variable questions after

doing this worksheet.

ELIJAH HONG JIAQI

I collated all the division notes that our teacher gave us so that it was neater. I also added more information that I found from the internet.

GOH YI FEI

I chose the family math activities because it allows me to learn math in a fun and different way. I got to go out and explore how long it takes to walk from our school to Admiralty MRT station. I also learnt that I can take a piece from a chocolate bar without making it look like I did anything. I had fun doing all the activities with my family during the September holidays.

HU JIAYANG GABRIEL

I chose this piece of work as I got to fold shapes like triangles, squares and I got to know these shapes better. I gained knowledge from folding shapes.

HUANG ZIMO

The 'Base Ten' number system was the most memorable to me as it is the most crucial number system we use in daily life. Learning about 'area of triangles' was memorable to me too as it was the most challenging topic in the P5 syllabus.

JAYDEN CHAN ZI YI

At first, I did not know how to do this type of questions. I then asked my teachers and friends how to solve these questions. They gave me many tips and tricks to solve the questions. After lots of practice, I can finally solve the question using the remainder concept that I learnt.

JERRARD NGEOW YU HENG

The learning experience I enjoyed doing is the activity 'Infinite Chocolate'. I got to crack my brains and think about how to cut the chocolate.

JOVAN TAN HOU MING

I felt that this is one of the most interesting activity. It was very creative when I did this activity. It was very memorable because this was something I didn't know before!

KOH HUI EN

I have learnt about how to multiply and divide numbers with a decimal faster. I find it interesting too as it is also easier.

KOK XUAN KAI

In this Math LwT, I learnt a more accurate way of estimation. Instead of estimating how many beats happens in one hour, I can better estimate how many beats in a minute and use the rate to find the estimated beats per hour.

KOK YU ZHE

This is an example of notes I have taken down during math class. I used this to revise for my math examinations and it helped me remember some of the concepts learnt in class.

LAI XUAN RU

I find the topic 'percentage' very important and interesting. Percentage is important as it is needed in life, like for GST, interest and discount. Percentage is like fractions out of a hundred which I find quite interesting. We can find the amount of GST, discount and interest by taking the fraction and multiply by 100. Percentage can also be used to calculate the amount of objects or people there are.

LEE JIA HAO

I find this memorable as I know how to find GST in receipts and how to calculate it.

LIM SHENG JIE

At the start of the year when we first used the Stretch Book, I was surprised that the questions in the book were way harder than the questions I was used to in P4 and could barely answer any questions.

But that did not stop me and I sought help from my teachers and peers and got the hang of the questions. Soon, I was able to answer most of the questions by using different concepts and practising model drawing.

The most challenging part of the Stretch Book is learning about the area and volume topic but after practising and learning the smart notes, It has since become one of my strongest topics.

LIM TERRON

I want to share the Family Math booklet as I learnt how to fold the biggest box possible.

LIM YI XUAN DEXTER

What is interesting about this task and what did I learn: I learnt alot about how Singapore keeps track of its weather and how they record. I learnt how to apply what I learnt about graphs and apply it into real life situations like in this task where i need to record the weather and the temperature of the surroundings. One interesting thing in this task is that the temperature always changes so quickly so whenever I monitor the temperature changes but not so drastically, The line graphs shows that the temperature is very consistent and is almost a straight line.

LIM ZI HAO, TIM

I learnt how to find the volume of cubes and cuboids and how to solve complicated problems by drawing models and diagrams.

LOW KAI JIE JAEDEN

I enjoyed the Math LwT where we estimated the number of claps the person in the video made.

LOW SHYNN YU LEVELLE

I think that Family Math is one of the most interesting things I have done so far and I do enjoy doing it as it helps me strengthen my math skills while making it fun as well. The Family Math activity helps me revise the topic I have learned and also allows me to try new fun activities that include Math. Therefore, I have chosen Family Math for my Math COL.

RAMESH ROHAN

This is an example of rate. I had to show a video of me clapping and showing the rate of my clapping per minute. It was fun and easy. But I could not keep track of my clapping. So my brother joined me behind the camera and counted my claps. It was a nice experience.

SAMANTHA LU YUN YEE

The most memorable thing I have learnt in math is doing homework with my trusted friends. Doing math homework is my favourite thing to do in my free time.

SEAN NEO ZHI KAI

I find this picture interesting as numbers are part of our daily life and it has evolved from hieroglyphs to numerals. I appreciate that we do not have to draw hieroglyphs as it is time consuming and confusing.

SEAW YI HAN

I have learnt how to apply math in real life objects.

SEE ROU AN

I think my math journal is the most memorable thing for the entire year. It contains my whole learning journey throughout the year, all the different topics or concepts I have learnt. I enjoy learning math very much and look forward to every lessons. This journal means a lot to me as everything I learnt is all inside it, even from the very beginning of the year. I can just look back and see how much I progressed the whole year as well as how far I have gone.

SHAN XIAOTONG

This is my Stretch Book. At first, I did not know how to do this question. After Mr Ang went through the questions, I understood the question by using the drop down model. This was the first question I did using the drop down model. I learnt how to solve similar questions after this.

SOON HAO YOUNG

This note really helped me I think this is a very interesting way to divide. Even though this is a concept that I would be learning in P6, I still try to understand it.

TAN EN XI EZANN

This was probably my first Math work I have done, or at least the earlier ones. The work is to show how lucky we are that the numbers changed from being a random symbol, to the numbers we are using right now. Numbers also play a big part in Maths.

TAN KE SHU

The Stretch Book helped me expore different types of method such as the branching method, drawing drop down models etc. I did not know how to do all the questions when I first started, but after practice, I managed to do all the questions.

TAN YI ZHENG

This is a picture of my Family Math. In this activity, I learned how to calculate the GST of my purchases. I felt this is memorable to me as it can help me for the rest of my life in calculating GST, discounts and percentages.

TEO SHER MYIIN

This concept in the picture is the most memorable to me as I had fun thinking of the way I could make the largest box out of one A4 paper.

TOH YONG XIN

The most memorable thing in Maths was the Family Math Activity. I found this activity the best as it did make me accompany my father to go shopping. I also had to use my calculator to find the total cost + the GST(107/100 x 38.80).

YANG JIARUI

From angles, I learnt many different types of angles, such as vertically opposite angles, angles at a point, and angles on a straight line. Angles at a point is always 360 degrees. Angles on a straight line is always 180 degrees. Vertically opposite angles is the same.

I found most memorable about angles is that angles on a straight line always add up to 180 degrees and angles at a point always add up to 360 degrees not matter how many angles there are.

YAP EN YU

I think that my family math is the most memorable and interesting thing that I have learnt is when I learnt to crack secret codes and even make my own. Besides that, I have learnt to draw my own graph about the wheather every few hours. Lastly, I have learnt how to draw the map of how my house would look like if I were to have my own dreamhouse. I hope that I would get to learn more about Math in Primary 6.

YOON JIN SHUEN OLIVIA

I find this memorable and interesting. On that day, I need to set an alarm so that I don’t miss out the time to record the temperature. I find the changes of the temperature interesting and I wonder if it rains on that day, what will be the temperature.

ZHAO JIYE

I learnt how to crack secret codes and make my own code. I had fun thinking of symbols that represent letters, like in algebra. It was fun thinking of symbols as it really allows me to be creative. Overall, I had fun when completing this activity.

What is a million.pptx

ZHAO XINYI FIONA

I chose this because I thought that it was the most interesting activity I had done for mathematics, and because of this, I changed from disliking math into looking forward to math lessons, from this activity, I found fun in calculating and also learnt that in life, you will need to calculate before you spend.

ZHUO HUANGRUI

I like this activity in Family Math. This is because I got to explore what dimensions a A4 paper were and do trial and error for holding the largest volume.
