3 COURAGE
Singing to Communicate our Emotions and Feelings
In our Music Lesson Unit 1, we learnt about music in dances. We focused on Ballet music and how the different tempo and dynamics affect the emotions and feelings and how these musical elements can also communicate a certain story or idea. Click on the links above to listen to some of our improvisation to the ballet music, Russian Dance, from The Nutcracker Suite.

Our Musician's Statement
We sang the Mo Li Hua song angrily because one of our friend's sister was mean to us. She disturbed us repeatedly and it made us upset and angry. We changed the tempo to moderato and the dynamics to loud (forte) to show our anger.
Members: Sufi, Alfian, Nittish, Firzanah, Wei Xun, Maisarah, Hazim, Austin, Nathaniel
Our Musician's Statement
We sang the Mo Li Hua song with a sad emotion because we failed our exam. We were disappointed because we already worked hard but we still failed. However, we will never give up! With the change of the tempo to andante and the dynamics to piano, we communicated our sadness through our singing.
Members: Soffiah, Michelle, Ilqis, Jia Xuan, Xin En, Niki, Jaren
Our Musician's Statement
We sang the Mo Li Hua song with the scared emotion because someone was going to kidnap us. We remembered the time when we had the lockdown drill and we changed the tempo to andante and the dynamics to piano to show our fear.
Members: Hans, Yun Bin, Raina, Haziq, Damien, Yuki, Enoch, Matthew
Our Musician's Statement
We sang the Mo Li Hua song with a happy emotion because we passed our exams with flying colours. We were so happy to share the news with our parents. We changed the dynamics to forte and the tempo allegretto to show our happiness.
Our Class Rap
As a musician, we also learnt how to communicate our feelings by changing the tempo and dynamics. Here we are rapping our own compositions. Can you guess what emotions we are communicating?
