CHAI YI EN

I think this photograph represents my best effort because I took a lot of time to build the magnet toy. I also needed my parent’s help, like using the hot glue. I faced many difficulties such as finding a way to poke holes into the toilet roll.

CHEN JIALIN

My favourite activity in science lessons is the mealworm activity. one of my mealworms turned into a pupa after a few days of observation. i learnt that mealworms have 4-stage life cycle, I've also learnt what they like to eat and how do they reproduce. I love observing mealworms turning into an adult/beetle as it is fun. The mealworm wriggled when i tried to hold it! am happy that i can experience this fun activity! Science is an exciting subject for me as it is new, i hope that there are more activities for me to try!!!

DONG ZEYAN

From the mealworm activity, I have learnt about their life cycle, how they reproduce and what they eat. I also take care of them like my own and now, I have a pupa! I hope i will encounter some other activity like this again. I’ve had most fun during Science lessons this entire year. It has been an amazing journey to experience and learn about science.

ELIANA TAN KAI YEE

My favourite activity for science is raising mealworms. I learnt that some animals have a three stage life cycle while some animals have four stage life cycle. A mealworm has four stage life cycle. The stages are the egg stage, larva stage, pupa stage and adult stage. Although science is a new subject for me, I think science is an interesting subject.

ESTELLA TAY YI QIAO

We learnt about many things like nonliving things and living things. Our teacher also taught us how to answer correctly during our science exam. I like science because we can do fun experiments.

This best represents my learning this year because I learned about magnets and electromagnets. I spent a lot of effort drawing the crane lifting up the car as part of my science journal activity . We learned about the stroking method and electrical method.

FELICIA WANG YUNQING

I chose my toy boat as my best science learning for this year as I put in a lot of effort to do it. Before I started to make the toy boat, I had to recall the different types of materials and the properties of the materials. Fabric is very flexible so I used some cloth to make the sail of the toy boat. I used a chopstick to make the mast of the toy boat. I used three toilet rolls covered with cling wrap to make the hull of the toy boat.

FENG LINSU

I liked the mealworm activity as it was fun to observe them grow. I learnt

about the life cycle of the mealworm beetle.

The four stages are egg, larva, pupa and adult. I love science and I enjoy asking questions during science lessons.

KUM YUN YU MAVIS

The picture above is our science research about electromagnets. We were supposed to name objects that were used daily and have electromagnets in them. I chose my science research about electromagnets as I put in a lot of effort to draw the objects with electromagnets. I love learning new things during science lessons.

LAI YAN XIN CHANTELLE

This is my animal case study done during my science lesson. We researched on an animal of our choice and drew a picture of that animal. I think this best represents my best effort because I did lots of research about my chosen animal: the Sumatran tiger.

LAU EN YU

This work best represents my best science learning for this year because I spent two whole days to find and take pictures of the leaves. After finding the leaves, I pasted the leaves in my science journal. My teacher liked my work and gave me a nice effort sticker for my assignment.

LEE ERN XI

This photo about life cycle of insects is my favourite topic as I can draw them out and for the grasshopper I wrote interesting information. I love Science lessons.

LEONG JIE YING

My favourite science activity was when we got to keep the mealworms. I learnt that they have four stages in the life cycle. The mealworm in the photo is my weird one as it does not eat anything and sometimes flips around and wriggles and it scares me. I love doing fun activities during Science.

LI ENNONG

I chose this activity to represent my science learning as it is my favourite activity. My mealworm became a pupa, then became a beetle very quickly. I saw that the mealworm curls up before it turns into a pupa. It is very interesting as I will know when my mealworm is turning pupa.

LI YANWEI

From this topic of plants, I learnt a lot of things about plants. This activity was very interesting as we get to hunt for many different kind of leaves and paste them in our science journal.

LIANG ZIYUE

The picture above shows my research on electromagnets. I think this is the work I am proud of as I drew a picture about how an electromagnet works. I enjoy doing science activities in my science journal.

MOHAMMED FAIZ KHAN

My best memory was making the sail boat. I made it interesting while some other students were making sails, I made a mini boat rotor.

MU KAI XUAN

NA YUANXU

I made a magnet jar. I learnt that the magnet can only attract items made of iron, steel, nickel or cobalt but not aluminium or copper. It only attracted the key chain, steel hanger, steel nut and the new coin. It was fun doing this experiment and I learnt a lot from it. I like the fact that I put a lot of varied materials in it.

ONG YUQI, YUKI

Here is my science magnet toy!

I chose this to represent my science learning as it was the best thing I had created

throughout the whole year! You might be wondering what it is, well it’s a magnetic air hockey! Why air hockey? Well it might just happen to be my favourite game!

ZAYNA HUI EN NA

I chose this magnet discovery bottle because not only did I get to learn about magnetic and non-magnetic materials, but I got to explore my creation and play with it.It helped me recall the characteristics of materials.

REANNE YEO

I think that this represents my best learning because I put in a lot of effort to draw the drawings and took a lot of time to think what to write. I also think that I apply my drawing skills when doing science journal work.

I made a science toy using magnets. This magnet toy was not very hard to make and it worked. I enjoy learning science.

TAN YUN NING

During science lessons, my science teacher asked us to find out if seeds are

living things. I think this is my best science learning for this year because I spent a lot of time to discover about this. I found out that seeds are living things because they need air/oxygen, water and warmth to *germinate. Since all living things need air and water to survive, seeds are living things.

TANG JING EN TRINA

I learnt about magnetism and how to make a magnet fishing rod toy.

Firstly, I used a few paper clips to hook on a straw to make a fishing rod. I hooked a magnet on the end of the paper clip.

Secondly, I drew and coloured some sea creatures on a piece of paper, and cut it out by shape. Lastly, I glued a magnet on the sea creatures. It enhances my learning and creativity.

TEH ZI CHEN

I chose this work to represent my science learning as it really represents me a lot because I also like football.

In my magnet toy, there will be 2 players. Each player will have a bottle cap , in the caps, there will be magnets and below the box, there will also be magnets so that the players are able to move the cap around. The player have to use the caps to push the ball into the other players goal. The objective is to score as many points as possible .

TEO YAN ZHE JAVEN

This work best represents me because I spent a lot of effort to go out after school with my friend to take pictures of plants and paste it in my science journal. I enjoy doing science journal activities.

XU XIYAO TIFFANY

Making the boat was fun but painting it was difficult. The paint got everywhere and I had to make my own blue paint cause the blue paint I used ran out. I used my favourite drink’s bottle as the hull, wooden chopsticks for the mast and the bottle's wrapper for the sail. It was hard trying to get the mast to stay but as it kept falling but I just left it to lay in the boat because no matter how hard I tried, it kept on falling. I am proud of my work as the boat can hold a lot of things and not sink. I think this is the best work that I did for the year !

YU JIACHEN

This is my magnetic toy car. I made it with a toilet roll, chopsticks and bottle caps. The magnet I was holding onto was repelling the magnet on the car. That’s why it moved.

My favourite science activity was making a magnet toy. I first added a magnet to the hanging rods so they will get the fishes. Then, I made all the fishes with paperclips on top. The magnet would attract the steel paper clips to pull the fish up. I made the board and made it like the base of the game. This game is played by trying to get the fishes using the rod. This is the best work I made as it was fun to play and the one I put in with most effort.
