My group and I make a solar cooker. We needed to think which material is a good conductor of heat The materials we use were black cardboard, aluminium foil and a mirror. The sunlight will be reflected by the mirror to allow more heat to roast the marshmallow faster. I learn how heat is transferred by using a material that is good conductor of heat for the marshmallow to roast faster. The values I learned is never give up and persevere to the end.

We applied the concepts of heat and light to make this solar cooker for cooking small things such as eggs and marshmallows. We got to experience the process for making the solar cooker and testing it. We tested it out with marshmallows. We wanted to do a solar panel design but we ended up with the solar oven design. I am excited as I can see the relevance of what I have learnt in class in my daily life.

We enjoyed making the solar cooker challenge. I learned about teamwork and about heat energy. Mdm Rachelle brought us to the rooftop garden to roast the marshmallows. Although the marshmallows did not turned out to be very roasted, I was still happy about the outcome.

I created this shadow play by applying what I have learned from the topic of light and shadows. We can create shadows of different sizes by varying the distance between the light source and object. My mother helped me hold some of the puppets.

I enjoyed the experience roasting the marshmallow and building the marshmallow solar cooker. My group mates and I wanted it to keep it short and simple so we just designed the box and make a whole for the stick through , we also wrapped aluminium inside the box. The solar cooker ended up working and i was happy that it worked .

We had the experience of roasting marshmallows. Each of my group members got one marshmallow each, but one of my group members Sya’irah, did not want the her marshmallow as she said that it smelled like baby formula. But I enjoyed my time today and prayed for a hot and sunny weather.

We did not work well at first, we ended up wasting a box. We figured out that teamwork makes our project better. We tried to work together and our project turned out good. When we finished the project we were extremely happy. We figured out that teamwork makes the dream work.

This is the solar cooker that me and my group mates made to roast marshmallows. We enjoyed making the solar cooker. Even though we had disagreements we resolved the problem and enjoyed ourselves.

This is the solar cooker that my group made. We used the concepts of heat and light to design this solar cooker. We had to decide whether to make a solar oven, panel cooker or a parabolic solar cooker. After trying to make a panel cooker we realised that it was a bit difficult to make it. Therefore we finally decided to make a solar oven.

My group members were doing investigation. We were asked to answer the question on the paper map to do our investigation! It was a very interesting investigation to do! It was very exciting trying to come up with different ideas to answer it! Even though some of us disagree on our ideas and even quarrel but we did not give up on the task.

My group‘s solar cooker is not the best but at least we tried. On Tuesday, we did the testing we roasted marshmallows. Our testing did not work but the eating did! So we had fun it was hard at first but teamwork came our way so, it was way easier with teamwork!

I really enjoyed the solar cooker challenge. All of us had different ideas after researching on our own. We had a tough time at first trying to agree on one design. In the end, we compromised and adopted ideas from everyone!

Today we experience on roasting marshmallows. I enjoyed my time today and learnt that we can bring it home and try again when there is a sunny day.

My group and I shared our science experiment at the Science Carnival. I was difficult to explain certain terms to them. So we tried to explain using simple words and they finally understood! My experience has helped me speak confidently to strangers.

I felt happy as I got the opportunity to investigate the question "Which type of liquid is most effective in removing stains from food dye?"

I also got to participate in the Science Carnival to share with schoolmates from the different levels my findings and results. My group allowed people who came to check out our booth to test out the effectiveness of the liquids in removing food dye stains from their hands.

My group members and I could not decide on how to roster ourselves for the presentation. The teacher in charge gave us some pointers and we managed to resolve the issue.

Wei Ling and I made a solar cooker together. We tested it out at the rooftop garden and roasted marshmallow in it. The marshmallow tastes very good! I had so much fun & learnt many values too.

Our class went to the the rooftop garden to test our our solar cooker. I learnt that heat gain is faster when we used a good conductor of heat (metal bowl).

This is me and my teammate making a solar cooker. We first researched on which design was the best. We did not put enough black paper around the box. So the cooker did not gain enough heat. The marshmallow did not turn out very soft but it was ok. It was a very fun experience!
