Geography Summer Term
Course overview - Term 3
During the first half term - We will be continuing the GCSE course by exploring the idea of field work building on the recent Distinctive Landscapes topic. We will go and collect our real work field work data in Norfolk in May then write up our projects in school. They will practice risk assessments, data collection techniques, data presentation and communicating conclusions. They will then answer questions about their field work in their paper 1 Geography exam.
During the second study period - half term 2; We will begin Unit 5 Urban Futures where we will investigate the key questions Why do more than half the world’s population live in urban areas? and What are the challenges and opportunities for cities today?. We will investigate two cities in depth as our case studies for this unit Birmingham and Istanbul.
