Course overview - Study Period 3 and 4
During the first half term, Study Period 3, learners will continue with a theoretical unit of work “Computer Systems” to gain an understanding and knowledge of how computer systems work. Starting with the building blocks of the microprocessor — logic gates — learners will discover how a computer system works and executes instructions, as well as Secondary Storage and an introduction to Assembly Language Programming.

Following this, learners will commence revision of the previous units of work completed during C9 and C10 and exam technique learning sessions in preparation for their Mock Exams that commence before the Easter Holidays.
