Course overview - Study Period 3 and 4
This term, learners will both finish their study of English Language Paper 2, and then start their learning of the ‘Power and Conflict’ cluster of poems in the AQA anthology.
This includes reading and studying each of the fifteen poems in the cluster. They will explore context, language and structure, form and writer’s ideas in depth. They will also develop the skills required for the Literature Paper 2 exam, including writing extended comparative essays.

Assessment Points:
Learners will complete 3 pieces of written work per half term that they will receive feedback for. Two of these will be shorter, mini assessments and the final one will be more reflective of a GSCE style longer essay question.
Learners will also have multiple opportunities for formative assessments. These include Google quizzes, Q and A and recall activities.
Guidance:
Learners will receive guidance in a variety of ways. These include marked assessments, reports, verbal feedback, written feedback in books, 1:1 interaction, Google Classroom and whole class feedback.
