Course overview - Study Period 1 and 2
During the first half term - learners will be starting their first (of two) internal assessments to support health and social care. This unit (supporting individuals through life events) is worth 30% of the overall qualification. Learners will spend this half term exploring life stages and the key milestones reached during each of these age groups. Learners will then go on to look at environmental, social and economic factors that impact on an individual during a given life stage. They will be asked to carry out a detailed case study of this individual.
During the second half term - learners will be planning and completing an interview with an individual that has experienced two life events and are willing to share their experience. Learners will be writing a report on the impact of life events on the individual and should discuss the physical, intellectual, emotional, social and financial impacts. Learners will then be researching and identifying support that is available both formally and informally for this individual.
