Business Studies Spring Term
Course overview - Study Period 3 and 4
During the first half term, study period 3, learners will almost complete the Unit of Work “Business Operations”.
Learners will understand the interdependent nature of business operations, human resources, marketing and finance. Students should be able to give examples of how business objectives would be split into functional plans with clear links throughout.
What business operations involve, their role within the production of goods and the provision of services, and how they influence business activity.
Topics to be covered will include looking at production processes, the role of procurement (two ways of managing stock - JIT and JIC), the concept of quality and good customer service.
During the second half term, study period 4, learners will complete Business Operations with revision sessions, and an end of unit summative assessment. Following this, learners will commence revision of the previous units of work completed during C9 and C10 and exam technique learning sessions in preparation for their Mock Exams that commence before the Easter Holidays.

Week 21 (6th February) - learners will have completed their Case Study for Business Operations.
Week 22 (20th February) - End of Unit Summative Assessment
Guidance:
Learners will receive guidance in a variety of ways. These include marked assessments, reports, verbal feedback, written feedback in books, 1:1 interaction, Google Classroom and whole class feedback.
