Time 4 Design
Testing Phases*:
Test against your Design Specifications (quantitative and qualitative data)
Summarise the result of each design
Create a simple client/peer-feedback spreadsheet (graph your results and summarise the results )
Summarise your overall findings in a detailed written statement why the chosen design is likely to be more successful than the other options by describing the features of the design with respect to the Design Specification and peer feedback results

and Test results against Design Specifications
Summary of Testing Storyboards
As shown, Design 3 has the most Yes out of 12. This will also help me to determine my final design which will have to be an important because this will have a huge effect on my create stage which will be happening soon!
Degree of Difficulty
The Degree of Difficulty will be in my opinion which is out of 10. As this is out of 10, 1 is for being very easy and 10 is for being very hard.
Peer-feedback/Chosen design with justification
Design 1- 5/10
I find this design pretty easy and very simple as well. I just think that it might be too easy to finish and there might not be as much appeal to it as the other designs in that case. Also it may also occur to me that this design’s degree of difficulty is in between but might not include any information at all and doesn’t help me in order to create it again for the final design so I also have to analyse the other aspects as well not only looking at one side.
Design 2- 9/10
For design 2, I analyse it as an 9 because even though the information is good, we are analysing at the aspect of the difficulty in terms or creating it in general. I think that this design is way too hard because there has to be an actor and it takes really long to edit the movies and to record someone actually acting this out which will also be hard for me to find the right time to shoot them and
also finding someone who is actually willing to do this. And also the video must also be appealing and convincing to the viewers about this project of the companies so that might be a bit too hard for me in this case.
Design 3- 6/10
Observing at design 3, the level of difficulty is quite in between leaning to the harder side. This might be because the editing of the video might take a longer amount of time since Design 3 is based on doing many shots taking it with the camera and putting it all into a movie. But compared to Design 2 it will be a lot easier because it will be made on all in one place by using paper, pens and play dough without needing other people’s help! I think that the information for this is also fine but needs to be a bit more detailed on the company’s project’s idea or creation as well.
Advantages and Disadvantages
Design 1- Advantages
Easy to Understand
Colourful
Short and Simple
Good use of visuals to help the audience think more
Has a good storyline
Able to create it without struggling
Disadvantages
Not very clear on some of the shots
Might be too short for the movie
Doesn’t really fit the target audience
Design 2- Advantages
Able to help out the viewers to understand what the project is about because there are actual people who are going to be talking throughout
Creates a stronger visual because it is real life not drawn out
Easier to understand and might help to convince the viewers and teach them about this project
Disadvantages
Harder to create and direct
Too complicated when looking at the amount of time that has been given for the Relaunch Create stage (even though there’s lots of time, this takes lots of time to take and edit as well)
There needs to be more of a storyline to it than just daughter and mother finding out a website
Also needs to seem more interesting and appealing to the target audience
Design 3- Advantages
Simple and easy to understand
Has a meaning to it
Gives out some information
Very appealing to the viewers
Disadvantages
Might be too short for the movie
Needs a little more convincing
Needs to have a bit more information but interesting as well!
Out of all the three designs, from looking at the disadvantages and advantages I think that Design 1 and Design 3 are really similar to each other but Design 1 wins for this because there are a lot of advantages for the design but also helps me to reflect on it and I would choose Design 1 for this. I find design 2 way too complicated for me but I just tried creating it so that it might help me change my mind and do something similar to that but I’ll stick with either Design 1 or 3 that is.
Target Audience Opinion
Above, there were already opinions about the designs underneath the storyboards for the three initial designs but this will be more detailed and will be from different people vary in different ages opinions since the target audience is 15+ who will be choosing one out of the three designs they like and commenting about it.
“I like the second design, because I enjoy watching videos and listening to it verbally then having to read and see everything for myself so that would come out interesting.’ -Arvin Tsai, 15
“I like the third design because I like the simplicity of the design and how it’s very useful.’ -Jenna Cho, 17
“The ideas for all of the designs are decent and very detailed; it’s just that Design 3 was the one that stood out the most because of the creativity within it that made this simple yet creative.” -Raya, 22
‘The first design is my favourite, change the other designs a few times to make it better, but Design 1 will still stick as my favourite Design.’ -Sun, 16
‘Even though I am not a teenager I would definitely love to watch the first or third one , it seems like an interesting idea!’ –Karn, 35
Final Thoughts
As testing the designs against the Design Specs, I have chosen to finalize Design 3 and to create a more detailed story board on it to help me in order to launch my create stage. In this final design, I will write down the music I am going to be using (because I didn’t include that in my previous initial designs), the objects and materials in order to create this video, the duration of each shot, duration of the video add up, and adding more information about this project into this video to convince the viewers!
Why have I chosen this design?
I chose this design because out of all the designs I feel most happy with this design. First of all this design in my opinion is really creative yet easy to understand. This design is short and quite detailed; it is inspiring to me and might be as well to others after viewing this video. And by using this design I can change it a little when doing it again so that there is more information and making it eye catching to the viewers as well! I thought that it seemed really simple and the idea of using the play dough and paper is really original and not much people use it to advertise something so it will come out good!
Also I have chosen this design because after looking at all the comments it was between the Design 1 and 3 but I thought about it and saw more potential in Design 3 and I feel like it can help me during the create stage and it is suitable and yet not as hard to make in the time that is given by the teacher.
Final Design
I have decided that my promoting Canon Go’s Green project will be created with the snap shot method and will be made into a movie. I wanted to do this because I thought it was an unusual idea and I wanted to challenge myself in trying to do something different instead because there is a possibility that it will turn out really well! Below is another video of a snap shot made into a movie that I found on Youtube and thought it was interesting and I should relaunch it using this idea.
