With considerable power comes considerable obligation.
My goal is to make a player think: I want to re-enter this world of lies tomorrow. 90% of what is considered impossible is, in fact, possible. The other 10% will become possible with the passage of time & technology. (Hideo Kojima)
I got some good advice from Jake the Dog “Dude, suckin' at somethin' is the first step towards bein' sorta good at somethin'.”(Adventure Time, S1EP25: His Hero, 2010)
When beginning my animation project I was influenced by Richard Williams who said “Since I was a child I've known in my heart the moving of pictures was my kind of art but I had no film crew nor actors for parts so tried animation and then could finally start.”
Second of all.. there really isnt a lot going on with his design! He has a cool jacket, but it isnt worn through most of the movie. Obviously, his most eyedentifiable is his eyepatch, which adds a lot of intruige to his character straight off the bat. One look at him and you KNOW he's a cool guy. I mean, take a peep at that cigarette! smoking IS cool, kids. (Charli Bignell, Course Site. URL: www.googlesites.charligirlbossing.com/T2W3_2024 visited: 18/10/24)

What do I do?
Follow the tutorial
Lip sync your chosen audio technique using the method in the video
Export, then embed on your site
On your google sites:
Evidence of your development
Exported video
Annotation (what you are doing and why)
You have used your own drawings as a base and have successfully lip synced a piece of audio with mouth shapes you have drawn yourself. You have uploaded it to your site and explained what it is you did, why and how you felt about it.
You have drawn your own image and used Mouth Shapes 2 for the lips. You have successfully lip synced a piece of audio. You have uploaded it to your site and explained what it is you did, why, how you felt about it and what you can do to improve in the future. You can now use symbols.
You have drawn your own image and are using your own mouth shapes. You have successfully lip synced a piece of audio and have possibly added keyframes or more. You can now use symbols and have maybe experimented with other ways they can be used. You have uploaded it to your site and explained what it is you did, why, how you felt about it, what you can do to improve in the future and are relating your progress to the animation industry.
What do I do?
In small groups discuss the techniques you've used. Think about the following:
Which techniques were most effective?
Which did you enjoy the most? Why?
What do you feel another classmate has done well?
What can you do to improve?
When would you use each technique?
How do you feel about software that can auto lip sync?
How do you feel The Wild Robot portrayed the robot talking where they don't have a mouth?
How do you feel The Wild Robot handles the tasks of making animals talk (foxes, geese, bears etc)
On your google sites:
Evidence of this discussion on your site
Reflection
Have you evidenced all your work and reflected on it?
Experiment further with lip sync. Source audio yourself and try and convey emotion in your character, let's get your characters acting! Try multiple versions. If you're up to date with everything work on either your targets or the prompts. You're not limited to any one piece of software for this!
