Be on time and ready to learn
Class starts on the dot, you need to be physically and mentally in the space to start working! Show up you'll and do the work and you will pass. If there are any issues let us know!
Try to take pride in your work.
Eating is not allowed
You get breaks if the work is being completed. Bottled drinks are ok, kept away from the machines.
Be concentrated
There will be times when using your phone is allowed but this should not be treated like the norm. I will physically eat your phone if you're using it when you're supposed to be listening to others. It's rude and you'll miss crucial information!
Act truthfully
This rule means that if you clearly understand the instructions you should say, “I Understand”. If you have questions you can say, “I Don’t Understand.” Not understanding something is ok, telling lies is not.
Tackle the tasks first!
It's important that you follow instructions before doing anything else. Learn to walk before you can run. There will be plenty of opportunities to build and experiment on what you're taught. It is actively encouraged but only after you've done what's asked first.
Mistakes are a part of the process, don't punish the space
It is ok to make mistakes, so long as you learn from them. It's ok to find things difficult, it means you're learning. Have an open mind and try. A lab or a dojo is a safe environment to try. It's a privilege to have access to technology and be surrounded by enthusiastic people, tidy up after yourselves!
Ask brain, buddy, book.
This is your time to be independent. Don't come to me for all the answers I won't know everything! Use your brain to think of different solutions. Ask a buddy for help with the problem. Look to books and websites for the answers. If nothing answers your problem come to me!
Now T.H.I.N.K before you speak
Is it:
True
Helpful
Inspiring
Necessary
Kind
Let us know! Telling me before is a reason, after is an excuse
Things happen. Communicate. We support and look out for each other.
Anything else?
Something you feel I missed?
Are these fair?
Anything you want to discuss or add?
BE BATMAN! Attend, do the work, be humble, don't be the joker and have fun!
